Dinin' Dash: Chapter 3

“Well, apparently,” Rainbow Dash said as she waddled into Fluttershy’s cottage. That door wasn’t getting any wider, which was quite a problem when you considered that she was. Whereas a normal pony was able to fit through just fine, unless Rainbow lined herself up perfectly, one of those hips were going to brush the door frame.

Not that she seemed to care. Rainbow was far too frustrated to notice; or if she had, to really make mention of it.

“Applejack thinks she’s so much more important, and doesn’t want to have a rematch!” Rainbow Dash panted slightly after shouting, the walk there and her speech causing her to lose her breath. She flumped sideways onto the sofa in Fluttershy’s living room, the poor thing giving a hideous creak under the sudden influx of weight piled on top of it. “Something about how she has to slim down before the apple bucking season starts. Like that’s more important than our rivalry!”

Rainbow Dash’s body was large enough that she couldn’t entirely fit on it. Even with having skipped two days of ‘training’ after losing the contest, the sheer amount of calories she’d consumed during it were still managing to put weight on her figure. Laying on her side, that gut of hers bulged forward just enough that it was beginning to roll off the front of the couch, bunching up near the end as it folded over the edge of the cushion.

“So, does that mean you’re… finished with all this?” Fluttershy asked. She eyed Rainbow’s bloated body up and down, frowning as she did.

“What? No!” She shouted, raising her head up off the couch to look at Fluttershy, before just letting it drop back down to the cushion. The impact sent a wave through the pair of chins under her snout, the incredibly overfed mare letting out a groan as she did. “If she doesn’t want to compete against me, fine! She’s just scared! I did some research, and… hold on,” she said, holding up a hoof as she took a few deep breaths, that fattened belly rising slightly with each puff.

“Hnf… I dunno why, been losing my breath lately,” Rainbow said. Fluttershy just kept her mouth totally shut, rolling her eyes. “Anyway, there’s a lot of eating contests out there.”

“And… you’re going to quit?”

“And I’m going to win all of them. I lost to Applejack, but I’ll just win all the others and prove that I’m the best!” Rainbow gave a little hoof pump, in an apparent attempt to psych herself up.

Fluttershy sighed. “Dash…”

“Fluttershy, listen, I know what you’re thinking, okay?” Rainbow Dash interrupted, not letting her get out a single word more than she needed to. “But that was humiliating. I can’t just let her get away with that, and then tell me she doesn’t want a rematch!”

The trip to Manehattan was typically fairly short by air. After all, Rainbow Dash was one of, if not the, fastest flyers in Equestria.

Which made it all the worse when she was stuck on a train, instead.

It didn’t help that she was crammed into a chair, either. The lay-down style benches were perfectly comfortable for an average sized mare, but that description no longer fit Rainbow Dash much at all. Even with her flank squeezed against the chair’s back as hard as she could, she was simply too wide for it, leaving her other thick, fat rear leg dangling off the side, resting against the wooden floor. Much like Fluttershy’s couch, that barrel was too wide and too bloated; the fattest part, just along her stomach, bulging over the side.

She struggled to get comfortable, squirming side to side as she spoke. “Anyway, from what I’ve read, these guys do things a little… huff… differently.”

Across the aisle, Fluttershy sprawled out across her bench, resting with one cheek against a propped up hoof. “How so?”

Author's Note

Was headed towards, obviously, a much, much bigger Rainbow Dash. She'd eventually win a ton of contests, head back to Ponyville after basically becoming a blob, and then AJ would be like "god damn it you took this way too far, fine, you win, just stop".
