Hello, I Must Be Going
The rooms and halls of Luna's apartment are dark with only the dim lights from the street lights outside softly glowing through the windows as the night goes on. A soft light is seen from the crack underneath the door to Peanut Butter's room as he sits on a chair bent over his desk looking down at a blank sheet of paper as he taps his fingers with his right hand and spinning his pencil with his left hand. He breathes slowly before taking the pencil to the paper and starts writing.
To those that care for me,
It is hard for me to write this as there are so many emotions running through me right now, mostly confusion and sadness. But it is with a heavy heart that I must leave you all. For some it isn't new, for everyone else, it's the first. The decision has nothing to do with any of you. I will miss you all and I will never forget your kindness, generosity, honestly, loyalty, forgiveness, laughter, and most importantly, friendship.
But I feel something is missing in my life that I unfortunately cannot find here. I don't know what it is or where or if I'll find it, but I feel as if I need it to be whole. I hope to find it soon, but I doubt it will be the case. Life has pulled me towards the direction for a long time coming since I came here.
To Sunset,
You will always be one of my best friends. You showed me that there will always be forgiveness and understanding in the darkest of times and that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. You were always fun to talk to each morning and were one of the first people to help me when I had little to no hope and were always my voice of reason when I didn't have that voice. I will never forget those qualities of yours and learn from them.
To Twilight,
I know we didn't have the best of starts, though I feel we were friends in an odd way. We didn't like each other, but we cared about each other. I still get frustrated with you, but it doesn't really bother me after everything is said and done. I gained a bit of understanding and respect for you after I heard about what you did at the Friendship Games and after your trip to Camp Everfree. I will not forget those moments of healthy arguments between us and hope that you grow closer with your friends and make new friends as well.
To Rarity,
I'm sorry for doing this a second time to you, I must be a horrible friend. I can remember the fun we had as kids with A.J., between our sleepovers and adventures in the summer at A.J.'s farm with doing so much for us like bringing over all the snacks and making stuff for us. Your generosity meant a lot to me then as it does now. You were always closest to me as a friend next to A.J.. I trust that you will help her through this. That is my final request to you, please take care of her she'll need a good friend with her. I will never forget you.
Peanut Butter gets another sheet of paper from his desk and continues.
To Celestia,
You were so understanding and you try to make sense of whatever was happening to me to Luna in order to help her, I'm grateful for that since she would be lost without your guidance. You shine a light when there isn't one, give hope when most think there is none, and care for those that most wouldn't care for or would care about. I can see who Sunset looks up to and who she inspires to become in her future. I wish you the best of luck and hope for the best in everything.
To Luna,
I know this will be devastating for you to read, but please know this choice isn't about you or anything you did. You have helped me in more ways than you could imagine through this time since you took me in. You were so patient with me and I am grateful for that since I don't think many people would be for very long. Your kindness shown no bounds and you were pretty nice to talk to when I felt like it and felt as if we truly bonded during my time here. I became a different person, what you have taught me will not go in vein as I will keep the morals you taught me close to my heart. I know my family in heaven wouldn't be happy with this choice, but I know my father would be happy that you did the best you could to raise me and take care of me. It will be the hardest to leave you and I wish you the best of luck.
To Applejack,
I'm sorry that I broke my promise to you, I thought I could keep it, but as time went on it grew less possible. I get the feeling after this you will never forgive me and that is understandable, you deserve better than me as a friend. I want you to live the life the way you want to, but I also want you to be happy as well. You are my closest friend, even after I left the first time I still felt that way. I know Applebloom won't understand why I left, tell her that it is because of something missing from myself in my life. I don't want her thinking that it was because of her. She was always like a little sister to me as she is to you. Tell Mac that it was nice working with him. I wish you and your family the best of luck in life.
To everyone else,
While I might not have spent much time to know you guys, it does not mean that you were any less significant than those that are closest to me. I just want you to know that I will never forget you nor the time I spent with you all. Please support each other in this time and enjoy your lives to their fullest.
Please do not look for me, by the time you see this I will be long gone. I will never forget any of you as you have brought so much joy into my life. But I'm afraid this is where we part ways, I may return one day when I find what I am looking for, but if I don't you will at least have my memory to put a smile on your face. I wish you all the best of luck and good tidings from here on out. So long.

He leans back in his chair as he stretches his back before putting down his pencil and getting up. He takes the papers folding them before putting them in an envelope. He looks down at it with a small smile before going to the door of his room. He goes out to the kitchen with the envelope and places it on the island before getting a shot glass and a bottle of whiskey. He returns to the island and pours himself a shot of whiskey before setting the bottle down. He picks up the glass and raises it up with a small smile on his face as the amber color of the whiskey glows from the light coming from the street light outside the window.
"My parting glass, cheers." Peanut Butter whispers to himself before drinking the whiskey.
He swallows it as he quietly places the glass on the left corner of the envelope before picking up the whiskey bottle. He places the bottle where it was in the cabinet and then turns around to look around the living room and kitchen. He sighs softly before going back to his room and picking up his book bag and opening his window he looks back at the room to see it clean and almost spotless. He smiles with a small tear under his eye before wiping it off and climbing out the window.
He closes the window from the other side and hurries down the stairs of the building and off the property. He walks down the street underneath the street lights as he takes a deep breath as he marches forward with the moon high over him as a soft breeze blows behind him.
