//-------------------------------------------------------// A Mirror to Another World -by Lavaman- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Spell of the Ancients //-------------------------------------------------------// The Spell of the Ancients One morning in Ponyville, Twilight woke up to a lousy, rainy day. The pegasi had really been slacking off with the rain, so they needed it to rain in Ponyville for at least two weeks. This made Twilight a bit depressed, as she was wanting to read a good book in the sunshine. Somehow, miracle or not, Twilight was able to get out of bed slowly and go downstairs to start on breakfast. When Twilight had reached the bottom of the stairs, she tripped. She looked to see what caused the problem; it was an old floorboard that had came loose. She noticed to what seemed to be a slip of paper underneath the floorboard. She proceeded to investigate the floorboard. The nails had rusted, and had come loose from the other piece of wood holding the step down. She then picked up the paper with her magic and began to read. After a good five minutes of reading and another couple of minutes to analyze the scroll, Twilight found that it was a spell. Some words she didn't understand; probably because they were used in ancient times. She did make out the title which was: "The Spell of the Ancients". Instead of making breakfast, Twilight had that scroll on her mind. She read each word carefully, with a dictionary nearby to help her translate any words she may not recognize. After she had finally understood what the scroll said, she began to see if she could do the spell. But, a knock at the door beat her to it. She thought to herself: Who would be visiting me in this kind of weather? It was none other than Pinkie Pie, a wet Pinkie Pie, I should add. She shook off all the water from her coat on to the books in the library. Twilight wasn't too pleased at that. "Pinkie Pie, what are you doing here?" asked Twilight impatiently. "I just wanted to see if you had a cupcake recepie book! I'm thinking on making some delicious cupcakes for The Cakes!" said Pinkie Pie, as cheerfully as usual. Twilight found the book Pinkie Pie wanted and gave it to her. "Watcha got there?" asked Pinkie Pie looking at the scroll. "Oh this? This is a spell I found underneath one of the floorboards." stated Twilight "I was just about to try it out." "Ooh! I wanna see!" Twilight guessed it wouldn't hurt if Pinkie Pie stayed for a bit and began the spell. Twilight had to muster up as much energy as she could to perform the spell. It was harder than it looked. When she finished the spell, and she knew she did everything correctly, nothing happened. Not a single thing. "What did it do?" asked Pinkie Pie. "I don't know. In the scroll it said it was supposed to 'open a mirror to another realm that is far from home'." Then, out of nowhere, came a huge portal in the middle of the library. It was created a massive whirlwind that was stirring up all the books and papers in the library. It then started to suck Pinkie Pie and Twilight inside. They did their best to stay in Ponyville, but the portal consumed them. Once engulfed by the huge maw of the portal, everything became calm in the library again. As if by magic, all the books and papers that were flying around had put themselves back in their proper places. The portal slowly began to shrink. During all this ruckus, Spike had woken up to see what had happened. All he saw was a portal getting smaller and smaller and he heard Pinkie Pie and Twilight scream. Before he could even think of what to do, the portal had closed. When Twilight woke up, she was in a patch of grass near the edge of a forest. She slowly sat up. She then recalled all events leading down from that point: the spell, Pinkie Pie, both of them being sucked into a portal. She then rubbed her head with her hoof, as it was sore. No, it wasn't a hoof, it was a hand! She then looked at herself. Instead of hooves, she had hands and feet! She had lost her coat, and it were replaced by tan skin. She then tried to find Pinkie Pie. "Pinkie Pie!" Twilight said "Pinkie Pie, where are you? I hope you're alright..." "Oh, I'm alright!" said Pinkie Pie. Twilgiht nearly had a heart attack. She looked up and sitting on a branch was Pinkie Pie in a human form. She still had poofy pink hair, but, like Twilight, had lost her coat as well and was replaced by skin too. They were also wearing clothes, Twilight a casual t-shirt with tan pants and Pinkie Pie had a dress on that looked sort of like the one she wore to the Grand Galloping Gala. "This is so cool!" said Pinkie Pie excitedly "I mean, look at us! We have hands and feet and snazzy clothes an-" but Twilight cut her off. "Pinkie Pie, let's focus on the situation: we may never get home!" Author's Note: Next chapter probably coming tomorrow! //-------------------------------------------------------// Another World //-------------------------------------------------------// Another World Twilight was worried sick that they may not be able to get home. She was pacing back and forth in the grass thinking all about the spell and other things. Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie was relaxing in a tree not too far from Twilight. She really didn't care if they may never get home; mostly because she was carefree. Besides, she had something more important on her mind: playing with her face because it felt so much different than before. "Hey Twilight!" she said. "Not now, Pinkie Pie!" PInkie Pie ignored what Twilight had said "Do you wanna play a game?" "Pinkie Pie, I have more important things to do than playing a game!" "What's that?" "Oh, I dunno, like maybe... getting home?!?!" Pinkie Pie then decided that Twilight was too boring to have any fun with, so she made her own game by seeing if she can hit a tree with a rock. Twilight was about to give up, because she couldn't think of anything else to do. She noticed that she must have been spending a long time thinking, because the sun was setting and it was getting cold. So, she retired to a medium-sized rock that was laying near her. When she sat down she felt something in her back pocket. When she reached into her pocket, she pulled out a long, thin stick. She didn't know what it was. She did think of only one thing, though: It's a stick that fell from a tree into my pocket. Then she kept thinking a bit. Well, she didn't have her horn anymore, so maybe... She tried to pick up a stick with it like she would have done if she had her horn. The stick shined purple, and so did the stick as it floated in the air. "Pinkie Pie!" yelled Twilight. "Yeah?" responded Pinkie Pie. "We can get home now! Come on!" Pinkie Pie hopped down from the tree. "Aww, but Twilight, I don't wanna leave yet!" Pinkie Pie still wanted to explore this new world to see if there were other people besides them. "No Pinkie Pie! I've already performed the spell! We're going home!" The same thing happened back at the library; the huge portal opened up, but this time, twigs and leaves and such were stirring around. Twilgiht and Pinkie Pie were sucked back into the portal. When the portal spit them out again, they were in the same place they left off; the woods. "Why didn't that work?" Twilight asked herself. She felt very tired before and after she performed the spell. She then concluded she had used all her energy getting here and trying to get back. "So we're stuck here again?" asked Pinkie Pie. "Yes." Twilight said, sadly. "Hooray!" Twilight and Pinkie Pie roamed the forest for a few hours, until they found a paved road. They decided to walk on it until they found a city or town. By the time they started to walk, it was getting very dark, and the moon was almost directly overhead. After a few more minutes of travel, they heard a honking sound behind them. When they looked at the source of the sound, they say two bright lights coming towards them at a fast rate of speed. Twilight pushed Pinkie Pie out of they way just in time. The object came to a halt with a loud screech. They then heard a voice say: "You girls need a lift?" The two couldn't see the man, but he had a thick country accent. "Oh, um... yes please." Twilight managed. They both got in the object. "Name's Mike." the man said. Twilight could finally see him. He looked like them, hands and feet and all, and wore a hat and flanel shirt. "What's you're names?" "Oh, I'm Twilight Sparkle and this is Pinkie Pie." The man laughed very loudly. "What.. he he... what kinda names are those? Ha ha! I've never heard anyone named that!" the man chuckled lightly. "And so.. he he... where ya from and where ya headed to?" Twilight answered politely "We're from Equestria and we're just going to the next available town." The chuckled yet again. He seemed to laugh at everything they said. "Oh, so you two ride horses! My Maw used to ride horses too..." Pinkie Pie and Twilight were both confused. They didn't ride horses, they used to be horses... well ponies, but still. They got to the next town and said goodbye to their weird friend. "What is this place?" Pinkie Pie asked. Twilight remembered seeing a sign that said New York City just before they got there. //-------------------------------------------------------// Pancake Paradise //-------------------------------------------------------// Pancake Paradise Twilight placed the plate down on the table. "Enjoy your meal, sir!" The man sitting at the table looked at Twilight hatefully as to say: "Go away." Twilight returned to the counter and stood there waiting for the next customer to walk in to eat waffles at two in the morning. How did they end up here? Well, when Mike dropped them off at the very edge of New York City, Twilight and Pinkie were exhausted. The only reasonable answer was to find a motel. Twilight didn't want to sleep on a bench with some weird guy. Maybe Pinkie. But not Twilight. After a few minutes of walking through the streets of this strange city, a man stepped out of an alleyway. Neither of the duo paid any attention to him, until Twilight noticed the man was stalking them. She turned around to see if the man wanted anything. "Can I help you?" said Twilight irritably. The man didn't speak a single word. All he did was reach in his pant pocket and pull out a knife. Twilight gulped. "Gimme yo money right now!" said the man. Pinkie Pie just looked at him and said "Ooh! What a pretty knife that is! Do you use it to slice cakes! I bet you use it to slice birthday cakes. Hey, why don't we throw a p-" The man cut Pinkie short. "GIMME ALL YO MONEY NOW!" The man got closer. "I'm s-sorry *gulp*, sir w-we don't h-ave an-ny money." Twilight managed to say. This just made matters worse. The man grabbed Twilight and put the knife at her neck. "GIMME YO MONEY!" he shouted at Pinkie. Pinkie looked at him like he was an idiot. He was. "Twilight already told you! We don't have any money!" Twilight could feel the cold steel of the blade as it was getting closer to her neck. Just when she thought all hope was lost, she saw red and blue lights and heard sirens. "Put the weapon down!" The man let go of Twilight and ran. The strange object that made the noise and lights followed. "Let's get out of here!" said Twilight as she grabbed Pinkie and ran. When Twilight thought they were safe, she let Pinkie go. "Twilight, what was to worry about? The man had a knife that sliced cakes! And I was about to throw a party!" "Pinkie, he was trying to kill me!" Twilight then remembered what she was trying to do: find a motel. Luckily, there was one just across the street. The duo gingerly crossed the road; making sure that there were no more objects around that could flatten them out. They stepped inside the old, dusty motel. The place didn't seem too desirable, but beggars can't be choosers. I mean, there was mold growing on the walls and the place smelled of rotten eggs. Pinching her nose, Twilight walked up to the counter where an old, short lady was sitting. She had a very wrinkled face, squinted eyes, and a red dress. "Herro." said the lady at the counter "How may I help you?" "Yes, we'd like to sleep in a room, please." but then Twilight remembered: they were broke. "Oh.. dat will be twenty dollars." Dollars? Twilight had never heard of that. Luckily, Pinkie had some bits on her and she put in on the counter. "What do ya know? I did have money!" The lady looked at the bits like they were some sort of small monster. "What is this?" she said slowly "We no take foreign currency!" Twilight started to cry. All she wanted was a bed to sleep in and then be able to get back home. "Aww, it's okay Twilight! All we need to do is try to find some money! What if we look for a job?" Twilight looked at Pinkie Pie. "Where could we find a job in the middle of the night?" The lady decided to try and help them. "There's a place down the street that needs employees!" Twilight took her advice and went back outside with Pinkie Pie. "Pancake Paradise?" said Twilight. Pinkie was excited. She was wondering if she could be able to make the goodies for the customers. She could make waffles, pancakes, cupcakes, candy; so much stuff! They walked inside and asked to see the manager for the job. "You're hired." she said, giving them the uniforms. "Okay...." said Twilight confusedly "No interview?" The manager looked at Twilight. "Why need one? Anyways, get those on then follow me to the kitchen." When Twilight stepped out of the gross bathroom filled with cockroaches, she was ready to get this over with. They followed the manager, Hillary, to the kitchen. "Alright, what I need you to do is to clean these dishes." she said, then walked out without giving any further instruction. Twilight, acting very depressed, started the tedious task. "Awww, what's the matter, Twi? Do you need some cheering up?" "What I need is a bed!" Pinkie and Twilight continued their work. Then, Pinkie started to get out of hand. First, Pinkie noticed that the soap made bubbles that would float in the air when she squeezed it. After squeezing the bottle a bagillion times, the whole dish-washing area was filled with bubbles. Twilight quickly popped them all; afraid the manager would see and fire them. "Pinkie! Be careful! You're gonna get us fired!" Pinkie ignored her, and started to spin the plates in her hand. "Hey... I could never do this with hooves!" she said happily. She then took it to the extreme: one plate in both hands, one on her head, and one on her shoe. Then, the inevitable happened. The plates succumbed to gravity and then crashed on the tile floor. "What the heck?" said the manager. She walked in and saw that there were four smashed plated on the floor. "Alright." she said, controlling her temper "Since you two bozos can't clean dishes, you can work the register and serve food!" Twilight thought that would be even more difficult for Pinkie to handle, but she didn't care. And then we are where we started, Twilight serving a dish to a rude man and Pinkie working the register, getting change wrong. "When are we getting payed?" asked Twilight. "In about three days." the manager replied. This was going to be a long three days. Author's Note: Sorry this chapter took a while to come out. Please give me feedback! I'd love to hear what you guys liked and didn't like about the story! -Freeze //-------------------------------------------------------// Parties and Plans //-------------------------------------------------------// Parties and Plans After three more grueling days of working at Pancake Paradise, Pinkie and Twilight finally got their paychecks. "Only forty dollars?" asked Twilight when they both pooled their money. But, Twilight didn't care how much they had, they were gonna get a motel room! They both ran back to the motel where the same lady was waiting for them at the desk. "Here's twenty dollars!" said Twilight happily. The lady took the money and gave them the room key. Twilight was excited to finally be able to sleep in a bed; she needed energy to perform the spell again! When she opened the door, she was let down a little bit. The room was filled with mold from top to bottom. A dog was sleeping on a bed. Or was it sleeping? Twilight avoided it anyway. When she laid down on the bed, it was as hard as a rock, and some insects crawled out of her pillow. "This motel isn't healthy!" said Twilight angrily. Pinkie didn't really care though. And what does Pinkie do whenever she thinks she hits a milestone? She throws a party. Twilight didn't notice, because she was too busy trying to make the place habitable. Pinkie had stepped outside and was telling everyone on the block to come to a big party she was throwing."Hey, everyone! Listen up, because we're gonna have a huge party at the Cozy Place Motel in room 12!" And everyone was gathering around Pinkie and were getting excited about the party. After Pinkie let the word out of the party, she came back to the motel room. Twilight had done an amazing job cleaning the place up without magic. Twilight was too tired to use magic, remember? She had made the beds pest-free, gotten the dog out of the room, and even cleaned everything else that she could see that could possibly contain germs. Twilight was sleeping on the bed. "Wake up, sleepy head!" said Pinkie cheerfully, as Twilight awoke with a fright "We're gonna have a major party tonight, and we gotta get this place ready!" Twilight's hand smacked her forehead. "Pinkie, I never said we could have a party! I only got this room so I could rest, and then be able to perform the spell!" Pinkie, of course, didn't care. "Too bad, 'cause we're gonna be throwin' a party! Now, help me get some decorations and food!" Pinkie grabbed the other twenty dollars and went back outside to get supplies. Twilight moaned, and went back to bed. Twilight was awoken rudely again. She looked around the room, to see where the noise was coming from. It was a knock at the door, and Pinkie immedantly went to answer it. Twilight then focused her attention on the room itself. With what little money they had, Pinkie had done a great job decorating the place in bright steamers and banners. She had even used the small kitchen in their room to make some cupcakes and punch. Heck, she even got a stereo somehow. "Hi there! Come on in! Everything's set and ready to go!" As the first few guests piled into the small room, they looked a tad bit disappointed. You see, they didn't think they'd be having a party for a little girl's birthday party. They were thinking of a party with alcohol and loud, booming music. The guests left as quickly as they came. "Wait! Why are you all leaving?" asked Pinkie desperately. They didn't speak a single word; they just slammed the door shut. Twilight was a bit pleased. She didn't want to have a party, just a nice, long sleep. As more guests arrived, they saw the decorations and such and left like all the others. Soon, it was ten o'clock and the guests stopped arriving. Pinkie was very disappointed, so she grabbed her platter of cupcakes and ate they all as she laid on the bed. "Cheer up, Pinkie! We'll be going home tomorrow." Pinkie looked at Twilight with big, sad eyes. "But Twilight, this new world is so cool! And so are our new bodies and stuff! I mean, I was able to cook these cupcakes twice as fast with these hand thingies!" Pinkie then resumed her cupcake-eating. Twilight couldn't keep thinking about how sad Pinkie looked that night. She did her best to sleep, but she kept waking up thinking about Pinkie. In the morning, Twilight looked at Pinkie and said, "Ready to go?" She said "Yeah..." very depressed. The headed into an alleyway to avoid people's gazes. Twilight pulled out her wand and performed the spell again. As usual, the same thing happened. The portal, sucking up everything, then putting items back in their original places. This time, the spell worked since Twilight was rested. They ended up back in the library, with Spike looking worried. Twilight checked to make sure she was a unicorn, and she was. Spike then saw them. "Guys! You're okay!" he said, running up to Twilight and hugging her. "Sorry we were gone for so long, Spike." said Twilight. "What do you mean? I heard your screams, I saw a portal close, and then right after that, you were back!" Twilight was confused. Are days on that other world only mere seconds in Equestria? Twilight looked at Pinkie, who said "Twilight, I wanna go back! Why can't we go explore that world some more?" Little did Pinkie know, Twilight had been thinking about something all last night. "Spike, write a letter to Celestia: We have found a new world and would like for you to help us in contact with the world's leaders." Pinkie got a huge smile on her face. //-------------------------------------------------------// Second Visit //-------------------------------------------------------// Second Visit It was in a matter of mere minutes that Celestia had responded. Spike burped up the scroll, in a cloud of smoke and green flames. Twilight hovered the letter in front of her, and nodded understandably. "Pinkie, go get the others. The Princess will be here shortly to make the trip back. She wants the rest of us here in case there are needs for the Elements of Harmony." Pinkie nodded, and skipped out of the library. Twilight prepared the place for the Princess, but the spell didn't mess up much of anything. Soon, she heard a knock at the door, and standing there was Princess Celestia. Twilight bowed. "Hello, Princess." Celestia smiled at the sight of her trusty student. "Hello, my student. May I see this spell you told me about? And I trust you sent somepony to gather the others?" Twilight got the spell from the shelf. "Yes, Princess. I sent Pinkie Pie. Now that I think of it, I hope the others believe her when she says we found a new world." Luckily, Twilight's friends did believe Pinkie, and arrived at the library a few minutes after Celestia had shown up. "I brought the others here like you said Twi!" Pinkie then noticed Celestia, and bowed, as did the rest of Twilight's friends. "Are we all ready to travel?" asked the Princess. All the ponies in the room nodded. "Can I come too?" asked Spike. Celestia nodded at Twilight, as she looked up to her for reassurance. "Okay Spike. You can't bring anything, though." "Everypony gather around. We need to stay close together if we all want to teleport to the other world." They did as the Princess instructed, and her horn glowed a bright color. Unlike Twilight, it wasn't as hard for her to cast the spell. She simply closed her eyes, and the same thing happened as the past couple of times. A giant vortex opened up, sucked up all the ponies, and random objects began to fly around everywhere, and finally settled down in their original places after the vortex closed. They ended back on Earth right where Twilight and Pinkie started their short adventure. Twilight and Pinkie were in the same form as usual, with the same clothes on. Twilight then looked around at the others, as she was curious as to what the vortex transformed them into. Celestia was in a beautiful dress that shined in the sun, entirely white and lined with gold. Her hair maintained its undulating waves, and had the same colors that shifted as before. She had the same crown as before, but her wings where history. That then made Twilight think of Rainbow Dash. Looking over to the amazing flier, she was in black tennis shoes, with light blue shorts. She also wore a light blue hoodie, and had the same rainbow colored hair as before, in the same style, but shorter. She was looking at her back, when she noticed her wings were gone. "Oh no. Oh no! Ohnonononononono! Take me back! I can't live in such a horrible world where wings are non-existent!" She began to sob to herself quietly, while the other 'humans' now comforted her. Rarity had a dress on as well, it was white, but instead of it ending in a tutu sort of fashion, it was long. She had the same hair style as before. Applejack had on cowboy boots, faded, worn out jeans, a flannel shirt, and a small brown jacket looking think over it. She had on brown gloves as well, and her signature hat and hairdo. Fluttershy had the same long, pink hair as before, and a tan sweater on. She also wore jeans like Applejack, except they weren't faded. Spike wore a hoodie like Rainbow Dash, but it was purple. He had green pants on, and black tennis shoes. His hair was green and flat, but had a small Mohawk in the middle of it. "Alright, let's get a move on." said Celestia. They came to the same road as the first time, and waited for someone to come along to take them to the country's capitol. Luckily, a bus was coming along bound for Washington D.C., and the bus driver was nice enough to stop to let all eight members on board for free. "Take us to the capitol of this country, if you would." The bus driver laughed like that truck driver and said "Alright, ladies." Spike crossed his arms, and cleared his throat to get the driver's attention that he was not a lady. The driver could care less. After five grueling hours of boring, uneventful travel, the gang was dropped off in D.C. The group marveled at its magnificent structures that had stood the test of time. "Now, I wonder where the monarch is of this fine country..." said Celestia. "Ooh! What about this 'White House'? It sounds like some important guy would live there!" Celestia nodded in agreement, and followed the sign pointing to this fabled House that is presumably painted white. They finally arrived there, and were met by iron gates. "Locked!" said Rainbow Dash, "Well, I guess we should give up and go back home, right?" Celestia simply pulled out her wand, and cast an unlocking spell on the gate. "After you." She said to Rainbow Dash, a smirk on her face. Rainbow grumbled to herself as she walked through. "Why's there a red dot on my head?" asked Pinkie, the closer they got to the building. "I wanna play with it!" she began to bounce around and try to catch the dot. Soon, dots began to appear on everyone's head, and a search light shown down upon them. Then, a booming voice came out of nowhere. "Put your hands up, and do not make any sudden movements! You are trespassing on federal property, and we have permission to shoot!" They entire group was confused. But Princess, being the smart person she is, said "Everypony, these are guards. They are simply doing their duty to protect the leader, using advanced technology the world has never seen before!" They all raised their hands, seeing as they had no other options. Little did they know, they would be meeting the leader very soon. Some armored humans came down from the sky, with what Twilight guessed were advanced weapons. They cuffed their hands together with an odd form of shackles, and they waited until they heard a siren, and one of the truck things approach them from the street. They were placed in the back, and were taken away to a place they called 'The Pentagon'. They were then take out, and walked towards an immense structure, which Twilight assumed looked like a pentagon if viewed from the air. They walked inside, and were escorted to a room with a one-way mirror, a table, and eight chairs. After the group waited for what seemed like hours, a tall, buff old man walked in the room and sat down across the table. "What the hell were all of you thinking? I have no idea how the hell you were able to open that gate, but don't you realize you were just waltzing onto the President's land? Do you realize your in big trouble with the US Government?" Celestia laughed for on apparent reason. "I'm sorry sir, no we do not. We are from a world millions of miles away from here, filled with magical ponies known as Equestria. I'm am the country's ruler, Celestia." The old guy looked serious for a minute, then cracked up to himself, like all the other did. "You *laugh* really think you're from *laugh* some magical girly place? That's hilarious and stupid! Bwahahaha!" But, a voice came out of nowhere like at the White House, it sounded deep and clear. "That'll be all, General." The man straightened up, and stopped laughing. He then exited the room. Shortly after than, a man in a tuxedo walked in, and was slightly darker than the General. He sat himself down, and held out his hand to Celestia. She shook it without reluctance. "Hello, Celestia. I am the President of the United States, Barack Obama. Now then, I will start out by saying my girls love My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. But, if I am to believe you are truly ponies, I'm going to have to see some proof." Celestia didn't say a single thing. She simply took out her wand, and performed the vortex spell, consuming everyone in the room, including the President. This was proof enough when they got to Equestria, and that's when the President and Celestia struck a deal of sorts. 1 Year Later Now, one year after the group met the President, they were able to set up a magical highway between Equestria and Earth, meaning people from Earth can become Equestrian citizens, and Equestrians can become citizens of Earth. Also, technology and magic became shared between the US and Equestria, leading to Equestria's Industrial Revolution and meaning America could do many things with magic to stabilize its economy, and win wars and other such governmental things. All was well again. Author's Note: I know this ending was pretty rushed, but I really just wanted to finish this story once and for all. Thanks for reading it, anyways. -Freeze
