影鬼 (Kageki Oni/ Shadow Oni)
Chapter 1: The Mansion None Dare Enter
Load Full StoryWe heard a rumor about a mansion on the outskirts of town.... they said it was haunted and that a monster lived there.
Sugarcoat, Lemon Zest, Sour Sweet, Sunny Flare, and Indigo Zap stood inside the mansion and looked around the large foyer. The walls were white with the floor looking to be made of planks. A staircase looked to lead up to a second floor with three hallways going out in different directions. The Shadowbolts, as they were often known as by everyone else, were wearing their Crystal Prep uniform with the exceptions of Lemon Zest and Sugarcoat. Lemon Zest was wearing a pair of jeans with some holes in them along with rips, yellow converse sneakers, a sleeveless green shirt showcasing a cut lemon with actual lemon zest in a wooden bowl, and a purple headband in her hair. Sugarcoat was wearing a dress that went up to her thaigh the top was white while the underside was blue, on it was a blue and yellow firecracker about to go off, her top was a sleeveless yellow with white straps making sure it stayed on, her uniform shoes had been replaced with a pair of blue high heels, but another thing that set her apart was the white long scraf going around her neck with one long end going behind her back while the short end was at her front, and her glasses were now black.
"It's prittier on the inside." Sour Sweet said in amazement, "it looked like a trainwreck outside."
"... is it just me, or is it cold in here..." Indigo Zap said looking around.
"Seriously Indigo? I'm a wearing a scarf yet I feel fine." Sugarcoat said.
"H...hey... Let's get out of here..." Sunny Flare said sounding a bit worried.
"What's wrong Sunny Flare, you scared?" Sour Sweet teased
Suddenly there was a loud crash that came from the right hallway spooking the group.
"H...hey... Let's get out of here..." Sunny Flare said sounding scared, "This place is starting to freak me out..."
"So stupid..." Sugarcoat said under her breath before raising her voice a bit to where the others could hear her, "There is no way monsters and ghosts can exist. It's scientifically impossible..."
Then she walked off towards the noise.
"H...hey! Sugarcoat!" Sunny Flare called out, "Be careful!!"
But Sugarcoat had already entered through the door at the end of the hallway.
"You think she'll remember that Twilight was a monster at one point?" Indigo asked.
Everyone only shrugged.
When Sugarcoat entered the kitchen she looked around and saw a broken plate lying on the floor. Being careful she picked up a shard and placed it in a secret pocket on her dress.
"I knew it." Sugarcoat said to herself, "Time to show Sunny Flare she was reacting over a broken plate."
Exiting the kitchen she walked back down the hall to the foyer where she noticed everyone was missing.
"What the?" Sugarcoat said walking to the middle of the foyer, "Guys?"
She walked to the entrance to try and open it. It made a clicking noise like as if it was locked.
"It...won't open." Sugarcoat said out of surprise.
Sugarcoat then turned around and looked. She didn't hear anything, or see anything. Except for the footprints leading upstairs in the dust that covered the place. Following them she saw the tracks went to three different directions at the top. One to a the right, one straight forwards to the left, and one turned and rand towards the third floor staircase. Following the footprints going towards the right door Sugarcoat tried to open the door only to find it locked. Same went for the other door to the left. Following the footprints leading to the 3rd floor lead her to a room located right beside the staircase to the attic.
Going inside and closing the door behind her Sugarcoat looked around and it seemed like no one was there until she saw the closet move a bit. She went over to it and opened it to find Sunny Flare looking as pale as a ghost
"Sunny Flare!" Sugarcoat said in surprise, "Where are the others?"
She got no reply as Sunny Flare began mumbling to herself. Sighing she decided to look around the room seing as she wasn't going to provide any usefull info. Looking underneath the computer desk, in what looked to be a bedroom, was a key with a discription on it.
"I found the item, library key from the looks of things." Sugarcoat said, "But where the hell's that?"
She turned over the key.
"Oh." Sugarcoat deadpanned, "First floor."
Going back down to the first floor she went down the hallway where she got the plate shard and turned to a door on her left. Inserting the key into the keyhole and turning with a click the key turned into ash. As she entered she heard the sound of footsteps creaking the flooring nearby.
"Uhh, S-Sour Sweet? Indigo Zap? Lemon Zest? Was that you?" Sugarcoat said into the library out of fear.
Gulping she coninued on into the library going through a row of books to see a table lying next to the wall with chairs around it. A book lying flat that had no chair infront of it looked to be hiding something underneath it. Going to it and moving the book out of the way revealed another key. It said, "Third floor bedroom key."
"Wasn't I already in- ohhhhh. There must've been another bedroom!" Sugarcoat said picking up the key, "If I can get to Sunny Flare I can probably find the others pretty easily."
Just as she was about to leave, Sugarcoat suddenly felt like she was being watched. She looked around and didn't see a single soul. Shrugging she left the library and headed outside. Going down the hallway she looked down the left hallway from the entrance to see a door open freaking her out a bit.
"Uh, that wasn't open!" Sugarcoat exclamed before gulping, "Maybe someone's in there. No harm in checking."
Going down the hallway she entered to see what looked like a wash room, it had two mirrors, one in each side of the room, and a washing machine next to a sink. On the other side was a pink bathtub filled with some kind of blackish blue, indigo liquid. Seeing a chain for a cork she pulled it tugging the cork out of the tub and draining it. Eventually, Sugarcoat could make out a shape and then when the tub was drained completely she screamed in utter horror. As there in the tub was the pale, indigo purplish blue skinned, eyeless corpse of Indigo Zap with her guts hanging out of her open stomach. In her mouth was what looked to be a philips head screwdriver. Sugarcoat wanted to puke, and she nearly did, but swallowed it back into her stomach gaging at the now horrible taste in her mouth.
"Oh god! OH GOD NO!" Sugarcoat shouted breaking into tears, "NO DEAR GOD PLEASE NO, INDIGO ZAP NOOO!"
And as the last of the liquid went down the pipe, Sugarcoat covered her face and broke out into a river of tears.
