Back To How It's Supposed To Be

Previous Chapter

"I'm back!" Applebloom shouted as she opened the door and looked around. "Sis!? You home?" She shouted. After a few minutes, a big red stallion came down the stairs. He was wearing a black and white tuxedo that looked quite fancy. Applebloom tilted her head. "Is that you, Big Mac?" She asked, confused.

"Why, of course it's me." He said. "Are you okay? I mean, I've always looked like this. And you see me everyday. Are you sick?" Big Mac surprisingly rambled on and on, talking so much more than before. As Applebloom was sneaking past him, she bumped into somepony. She looked up and saw the one and only Granny Smith.

"Oh, sorry, Granny!" She politely apologized. Big Mac finally stopped talking and turned around to join the conversation.

"Granny, you're up!" He said, trotting up to Granny. "You're up earlier than usual. Are you okay? You and Applebloom seem to be in the same situation." Big Mac kept talking and talking, until Granny Smith raised her hoof, signalling him to stop.

"Nope." She said.

"I see." Big Mac looked at both of them square in the eyes and then trotted up the stairs. "Well, if you two are sure, I'm gonna go take a short bath. If you need anything, my door's always open! So to speak."

Granny nodded and gave him a pleasant smile. She turned her head and looked at Applebloom. She grinned and walked upstairs. Applebloom watched as she left and stepped outside.

"Gee, those two have definitely changed." She mumbled to herself and giggled. As she was about to leave, Applebloom noticed her two friends running towards her.

"Hey, Applebloom!" Scootaloo greeted. "Mind if we stay over again?"

"Sure, come on in!" Applebloom trotted back to the door and opened it for them. "So, what did ya'll come here for?" She asked, closing the door after they came in.

"Oh, nothing really." Sweetie Belle said. "We just got bored off our flanks and decided to come here."

"Well, in that case, let's just play a board game." Applebloom said, rushing to her room and coming down immediately. "Let's play Escape, The Curse Of The Castle!" She lifted up a box and shook it a little. There were sounds of little pieces in it. "My sis gave it to me yesterday." She set it in on the rug and sat next to her friends.

"Aw, shoot! I got cursed! Now I'm mute!" Scootaloo screamed. Afterwards, she made sure she didn't talk until she broke the curse. Just then, the front door swung open, and an orange mare came in.

"Oh, excuse me!" Applejack winked to the three and quietly closed the door. She quickly trotted to the kitchen and washed her hooves. After a few seconds, she came out, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders were already done with their game. "Well, that was quick! I turned around for a few seconds and you little cuties already finished your game!" Applejack applauded them.

"Thanks!" Sweetie Belle beamed.

"I've got good news, by the way!" Applejack said as she trotted over to help them clean up the game. "I got a letter from Countess Coloratura! And guess what, she asked me to design all her outfits for her next tour! Isn't that simply wonderful?"

"Wow, sis! Congrats!" Applebloom hugged her sister until a question popped into her head. "But, how long will you be gone?" She asked worriedly, letting go of Applejack.

"Well, the tour starts today, it'll take me a while to make her outfit, plus the outfits for the background dancers, then she'll tell me how to improve them, and......" Applejack trailed off, trying to calculate how long she'll be gone. "It'll take about..........2 months!"

"2 months!?" Applebloom blurted out loudly. "B-but......how!?"

"Well, we'll be touring all the towns in the East." Applejack explained. "That'll take a long time, meaning I'll have to make lots of outfits and so little time! Big Mac's coming along with me, and Granny Smith will look after you. I better start packing!" She darted upstairs before anypony said anything.

"Boy, are you lucky." Scootaloo said. "You get to do anything you want! You can slouch on chairs, jump on the bed, eat as much as candy as you want......"

"Wait, aren't we already doing that?" Sweetie Belle asked. "I mean, I'm getting kind of full myself, I've been eating sweets all day!"

"She's got a point." Applebloom frowned. A silence fell into the room. And not the good one. Sweetie Belle cleared her throat and decided to speak.

"Well, look at the bright side! There's no point in looking down on everything. You should have fun instead!" She suggested. Everypony beamed.

Scootaloo put her hoof on Applebloom's shoulder and gave her a caring smile. After a while, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle said their goodbyes and went home for the day.

"I'm home...." Sweetie Belle trailed off as she opened the front door. She was so tired her vision was barely clear. She slowly shut the door and dropped er saddlebag. "Rarity? Hey, Rarity!? Are you home or not??" She yelled a little louder as she lazily trotted to the hallway. She looked around, but nopony was there.

Immediately, a light gray pony wearing a jumpsuit fell down the stairs.

Sweetie Belle shook her head to wake herself and ran to the mare. "Sis, are you okay!?!" She yelled, shaking her sister who is currently rolling around the floor, as if she was in bed. She continuously moaned and groaned until she finally sat up.

"Alright, alright, youngin'!" She screamed, rubbing her eyes. She fell back on the floor to rest a little bit more and got up. "I'm up. Is somethin' wrong? Did a vampire fruit bat get in your room? Did a manticore chase you into the barn?" She paused and gave Sweetie a concerned face. "Did Opal get stuck in the toilet???"

"N-no, it's not that-" Sweetie stammered, but got cut off by Rarity.

"WHAT!?! You mean something even WORSE happened to you!?!??" She yelled, almost making Sweetie fall down.

"NO! It's not that bad!!!" Sweetie jumped from anger and took a deep breath once she landed on her hooves. "Look, I just came home." She explained. "You sent me a letter while I was Applebloom's saying tat you have important news and I had to come home immediately. What did you want to tell me?"

"Oh yeah.....that." Rarity said, remembering that she actually did send a letter. "Well, you see, Braeburn invited me over to practice some more buckball. I'll be away for.......about five months." She said as she trotted up the stairs and hummed a song, Sweetie recognized the song as "Winter Wrap Up".

"A-a month!?!" Sweetie exclaimed. "Why can't I come with you then???" She said, following her sister up the stairs.

Rarity sighed. "Look, we're gonna do lots o' practice, including me helping out in a couple of things. If you came along, you'd be as bored as a pig in the middle of a deserted field!" She said, trotting to her room's door.

"Okay.....I understand." Sweetie sighed, walking to her bedroom.

Scootaloo fell as she was about to bang on the door, but Rainbow Dash opened the door from the other side. "Oh, hey, kid." She welcomed Scootaloo inside and cleared the way. "Sorry for the mess, I've been trying an old book I read all day."

"It's fine." Scootaloo assured her. "Anyways, what book are you looking for? And why is it so important?" She blurted out a bunch of questions and stopped herself from asking anymore questions.

"Nothing really. It was just one of my favorite books when I was young." Rainbow explained, scanning the bookshelf. "If you need anything, just tell me."

Scootaloo frowned and looked down. "Okay." She said, turning around and walking towards the fridge. She took out an orange juice box and started to sip juice from it. "So.......you're not gonna give me any cool or fun activities? Or even lessons?" She asked, turning her head to see Rainbow, whose eyes were fixated on a bookshelf.

"What do you mean?" Rainbow asked curiously, selecting a book labeled "Game Of Crowns". "Did the Rainbow Dash from your world give you things to do?" She asked, putting the book back and taking another one.

Scootaloo tapped her hooves on er chin. "Well, yeah. But, not exactly chores. More like, private lessons to become cool!" She said, trotting a little closer to Rainbow.

Rainbow paused for a split second and continued her search. "I don't know how to be cool, kid." She said in a deeper tone. "You should've went to T for those things in this world. She would've been absolutely delighted." Rainbow said, rolling her eyes.

Scootaloo noticed what she meant and shook her head. "Yeah but......nevermind." She said, turning around and walking to her room. When se did, she locked the door and sat on the bed. Scootaloo sighed and looked around the room. There was nothing much to do. She lay herself down on the bed, set the juice box on the end table, and closed her eyes.

But, for some reason, she opened her eyes and got up. Scootaloo trotted to the window and opened it. The sky was pitch black, and the only things she could clearly see was the stars and Luna's shiny moon. She felt the urge to do something fun. Perhaps it was boredom. She jumped out the window and safely landed on a lake. She swam out, shook the water off, and ran to a certain place. "Maybe.....maybe we're not too late."

The door swung open after Scootaloo knocked on it several times.

"Ya know, I feel bad for my door." Twilight said. "It's being punched several times now. Mostly by you and your little crusader friends." She said, pointing at Scootaloo.

Scootaloo gave a small, nervous giggle and opened her mouth to start speaking. But just then, Twilight interrupted.

"Ah-ah-ah, I don't wanna ear it again." She snapped, opening the door wider and trotting inside.

Scootaloo entered and tilted her head. "What do you mean, again?" She trotted in and followed Twilight into the library. "D-do you mean.....Sweetie Belle and Applebloom came here too?" She asked curiously.

"Yep." Twilight smirked at herself. "They're somewhere in the library." She said as she stopped walking and pointed at the library. She trotted away to a different room and said, "Well, see ya!"

Scootaloo waved goodbye to Twilight and stepped inside the library. "I guess they both came here too." She muttered to herself as she went to the M section of the library. When she got there, she looked around and froze. They weren't there. Does this mean that they left without her?

"Oh, so you came too!" Applebloom shouted. Scootaloo jumped.

"I wanted to go back." Sweetie Belle admitted. "I liked our free will but......it didn't feel right anymore." The three of them looked at the mirror. It was as shiny as it was before.

"Well, what're we waiting for? Let's go!" Applebloom screamed, running to the mirror. But immediately, Sweetie ran after her and pulled her tail.

"Wait!" She yelled. "The mirror only works for 30 moons, remember?" She frowned and sat down. "If it weren't for me, none of this would've happened." She said, almost at the brink of tears.

Scootaloo noticed, and patted her on the shoulder. "No worries, Sweetie Belle! It wasn't your fault! At least we learned our lesson!" The three beamed and stared at the mirror.

"Well, what now?" Applebloom asked, raising her eyebrow.

"Um.....I think this is where I come in." A voice came from somewhere. It was very strange, yet familiar.

The tree jumped in surprise and fear. "Princess Luna!?!" They shouted in sync. They walked around a bit to see where the voice came from. But even if they did, the library was so quiet that they could tell nopony was there.

"I'm not here, little ones. Just listen to my voice." She said. "Remember when I said that the mirror only works for 30 moons?"

"Yeah?" Sweetie Belle asked, trotting towards the mirror, thinking she might be talking through the mirror.

"I lied." She said.

"WHAT!?!" Scootaloo and Applebloom shouted so loud that a nearby vase almost cracked.

"Wait, something doesn't feel right......" Sweetie Belle thought out loud. She touched the glass of the mirror, feeling its magic. She went through again for one more time....

"Hey, wait!" Scootaloo yelled after her and cased Sweetie. Applebloom followed along as fast as she could.

Sweetie opened her eyes as she got up and shook her head. She could barely see, everything was so swirly. The only thing she could see was a dark purple figure, and a taller figure, it ad many colors, but was mostly brown. She shook her head to see even clearer, but then, she noticed what was happening.

"Hey, wait!" Sweetie screamed as soon as her vision suddenly became better. She got up and stepped forward.

The two figures ran away. "I told you that it would not work, Discord!" Luna scolded him. "Why did we have to tell everypony that it would only work for 30 moons!?!"

"You agreed anyway!" Discord shouted. "Plus, Fluttershy told me to help ponies get life lessons! I just did, didn't I?" He yelled as he snapped his finger and teleported both of them to a different place.

"There you are!" A voice came from somewhere in the room. Applebloom jumped once she heard the voice.

"Sis?" She said, running after the voice. She bumped into an orange mare and got hugged.

"We were so worried!" Rarity said, following Applejack. "You were gone for days, I thought you'd never come, darling!" She said, hugging Sweetie Belle. Sweetie gave her a bright smile.

Rainbow Dash flew in and surprise attacked Scootaloo with a hug. "You had me worried, kiddo!" She scolded her, patting her on the head.

"Sorry!" Scootaloo laughed. They all fell into laughter and went to another room.

"Oh, you found them!" Twilight said, levitating a tray of tea and biscuits over to the table. Spike ran to the table and ate a biscuit, making Twilight glare at him for being impatient. "Where'd you find them?" She asked, turning her smile back on.

"They were in your library." Applejack said. "They were in front of that ol' mirror o' yours." She looked at Applebloom worriedly. "Did you three go in?"

"Yeah!" The three said in sync.

"We went to a parallel universe and everypony's personalities were opposite of theirs!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed. Everpony looked in confusion, besides the three fillies.

"You must've been dreaming." Spike said, still eating biscuits. "Here, ave some tea and biscuits!" He lifted another biscuit, and it unsurprisingly landed on his mouth.

"It's true!" Scootaloo said. "And even if we were, how could we have the same dream? At the same time?"

"It's happened before, you know." Rarity said. "Luna combined all of Ponyville's dreams into one to defeat the Tantabus, remember?"

"Oh, right." Sweetie Belle frowned. "Well, we did see Luna at the end of the dream. So maybe it was."

"The good thing is, we learned something!" Scootaloo beamed. "Right, girls?" The other two girls grinned and nodded. Everypony else in the room happily smiled, proud of the three fillies.

"Well, I'm thinking the three of you need rest." Twilight suggested. "Spike and I can have tea and biscuits ourselves for today." Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash nodded and went to Applejack's barn for a sleepover.

"Nghhh...." Rainbow moaned as she got up and trotted down to the kitchen. She picked up a small book that was there for some reason. She read the title out loud, but she just got up and she was so tired that her sight was horrible.

"Hmm.......Narhia.......She Nantisore.......the corn.....and the......claw? Nevermind." She said, dropping the book on the table and walking away.

The End.
