//-------------------------------------------------------// School Pony -by SecretIdentity- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Monday pt. 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Monday pt. 1 Monday, October 10, 2016 6:25 AM I woke up out of my bed groggy and confused, like most Monday mornings.  After all, who REALLY likes going back to school on Mondays? Sure, I get to see my friends, but I would rather just relax in my bed and play on my laptop and/or Xbox, but wouldn't we all? Today was different though, as when I got up, I felt completely different for some reason.  I've had mornings before where I felt like I was curb-stomped by a ghost in my sleep, body aching and all, but it wasn't the same as this. I stared at my "hands", only to see a pair of small hooves in their place.  The initial shock from this event sent shivers down my spine, and I felt the need to yell out a hammy "WHAT" to get it out my system. I then looked at the rest of my body.  I had blue fur, freaking wings on my sides, an admittedly sick-looking tail, and other equine features (except for the wings and blue fur, that's clearly NOT normal).  I also raised a hoof to feel my mane.  From what I could tell, it was styled in a Mohawk, strange. I was too shocked by all of these strange changes to notice one important detail; I was really freaking short.  As a human, I was far from a giant, standing at only 5 foot 2 inches, but I would probably look like one in comparison to my form right now.  My estimate was that I was about 3 feet tall, including my head. Burning with curiosity, I started to walk on my bed. It actually felt somewhat natural to me, and I started to walk normally after a few times circling around my bed.  I jumped off my bed, pulled open my slightly-open bedroom door and trotted over to the restroom. I lifted my forelegs up onto the bathroom counter, and took a good look at myself. I mentioned before that my mane was unusually styled in a Mohawk, but I hadn't seen it before.  It was dirty blonde colored, and looked unusually good for bed head (I normally look like a mess when I get out of bed).  I also saw my face, in which my eyes were very unusually big, like I was out of a cartoon.  I was checking out my facial features more when all of a sudden, I fell.  I fell backwards off of the counter and onto a bin with towels on it, which created a very audible noise. It woke my Mom up. How was I going to explain this to her?  I decided on a whim that I would head back to bed and act like I was upset, which I partially was.  I tried as hard as I could to sneak back to my room, until the door suddenly opened. My Mom stood in shock as she looked at the small blue equine creature before her. "What is this thing?" Mom questioned. "It's me," I replied. "Your son." I could see the confused look on her face. This clearly was a lot to process for her.         I slowly walked towards my Mom with a nervous look on my face.         "You...You're my son?" She asked. Poor Mom certainly didn't need anymore stress, as she was working as a distributor for a company.         "I am indeed Daniel Reeves," I said.         She reached down to pick me up, and as she did I put my forelegs around her shoulder.  As we were hugging, Mom asked me a question.         "What happened, Daniel?" She asked as she was tearing up. "I think I turned into some kind of pony overnight." I guesstimated. After hugging for about a minute longer, she finally put me back down onto the wood floor.  Notably, she let out an audible groan when she let go of me.  I must not have gotten any lighter through this transformation. "We need to get you to the doctor as soon as we can." Mom commanded. "Does this mean I get to-" I asked before Mom interrupted. "Yes, of course you get to stay home, Daniel." Mom answered. I nodded my head in agreement, with a smile on my face.  I walked over to my bedroom, jumped onto my bed, and grabbed the TV remote off of my nightstand with my hooves.  I turned on the tv and managed to navigate to BBC America, which was showing a re-run of Top Gear, in which they were showing off the Ferrari LaFerrari hybrid sports car. I then realized that I managed to stay positive during this whole endeavor!  My hands removed, my body completely changed, and I was still smiling!  While the hosts of Top Gear were showing the race of their guest star, I remembered that I had wings.  I concentrated for a second and managed to spread my wings.  My wingspan was very impressive for my size, measuring at around 3 feet total.  Hopefully I would get a chance to fly this week. But what about the future?  How will I ever get a job?  Or a lady?  How can I go to school later on this week like this?  Too many questions.  I decided to not worry about them for right now, and just continue watching my show.  After it was over, I trotted over to my Mom's room, where she was calling the hospital that was on Fort Dare, a nearby military base. "I need to schedule an appointment with Dr. Kleiner today." Mom spoke into her phone. "Eleven sounds good to me." After briefly listening to Mom's call, I decided to get ready for my day.  I took off my pajamas that were clinging to me, got on a normally tight-fitting t shirt, and some shorts on that were practically pants for me.  My clothes mostly fit my new body, although I had to get a belt to keep my pants on, with help from Mom. As I walked out of my room to go downstairs, I jumped to grab a pair of sunglasses with my teeth.  I was successful, but it caused me to notice my new teeth, made more for eating plants and vegetables. "Ah man, I guess no meat for me." I thought to myself. As I descended the stairs, Mom told me that she would make breakfast for me, due to my lack of hands and all.  She descended the stairs with me and in one minute flat, prepared a bowl of Cracklin' Oat Bran for me. "Mom, you're a genius!" I shouted.  "Horses love oats, so this must taste like heaven." "Oh, I didn't realize that." Mom replied.  "Good on me, I guess." I bit down into my bowl of oat bran, and it certainly tasted good, but not as good as I was expecting.  I also turned on the TV, although it was harder, since it was a universal remote with a touch screen in addition to buttons.  Luckily for me, the remote could recognize slight hoof taps as inputs, so I was able to get back to watching Top Gear re-runs with few errors, and in little time. By the third episode, I was asleep on the couch. When I woke up, I noticed that Mom put a blanket over me while I was sleeping, I almost spilled my oat bran, and that it was 10:07.  Mom came over to me and told me that I needed to get ready to go to the doctor's office.  Although I was ready for the day, I forgot to brush my teeth, so Mom agreed to help with it.  I also grabbed my iPhone 5s and put it in my shorts pocket.  After that, I yelled to Mom that I was ready, and we headed out the door together. I trotted over to the "shotgun" door of our car, a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, and Mom opened it for me.  I then proceeded to hop into the car.  I sat like a dog in the seat, and I managed to buckle myself by clutching the buckle between my hooves and dragged it to the locking mechanism.  The rest of the world was going to see me for the first time.
