//-------------------------------------------------------// The End Of Days -by Undead Equestrian Writer- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Good Bye Hive //-------------------------------------------------------// Good Bye Hive I ran through the twisting and winding tunnels of the main hive, I was trying to get away from them, but they were slowly catching up with me. I was running for my queen's room, as she would no longer be there. My queen, Queen Chrysalis, was now at the bottom of the hive being eaten alive by numerous amounts of her children. I ran by a nurse changeling and slammed into her knocking her to the ground, which got a few of the zombified changelings off my back. I rounded a corner and galloped the rest of the way to Chrysalis's room. I felt a dead changeling grab my wing but fall off. I looked back and saw my family and friends with numerous body parts missing. I finally reached Chrysalis's room and threw myself inside. I quickly took the escape route out of the hive. 48 hours early "Drone Monarch, what are you doing back at the hive so early," I asked the drone that was sitting in the infirmary. He looked at me and showed me the wound on his front left leg. It was a scratch that went right through his armor and into his leg. I examined the wound and bandaged it up to the best of my ability due to the thick armor. "Come back in tomorrow and we'll see about that leg." The drone left my apartment of the infirmary, which handled the more major injuries and infections. I went to my desk and looked at my reports of injuries after the Canterlot attack failure. Most of the nurses stayed back to help the wounded, but I was thrown into battle due to my odd structure. I have the smarts and knowledge of a nurse, but the body type of a warrior. The hive just referred to me as Oddity or nurse Oddity. All my reports were just things the other nurses could deal with, like a sprained wing and chipped teeth. I laid back in my chair and closed my eyes in rest, I never really got to do much as I was either cooped up in the infirmiry or in my quarters on the 13 layer of the hive. Chrysalis lived on the first floor so 13 wasn't that bad. I started daydreaming about how Celestia and Luna were doing after the major attack of the Equestrian capitol. I imagined that they were having the worst of times right now, but in all reality they were probably sitting in their throne room drinking tea. I was awoken from my daydreaming when the door to my infirmary was thown open with four warriors surrounding one of Chrysalis's children. I walked over to were they had put her and saw a giant wound on her neck. Her name was Mythic and she was one of the changelings that worked down in the hatchery. I ran over and grabbed a bottle of rubbing alchohal and stitches. "What happened to her," I asked while stitching up the soft skin. "One of the newborns was crazed and bit her, we think she might be infected with rabies," one of the warriors asked. "Why rabies," I asked while injecting the changeling with a pain killer and rabies shot. "The newborn was foaming at the mouth," a different warrior asked. "We had to kill the newborn." "We'll it ain't rabies that's for sure, but I'll keep her here in the infirmary with me for a while so I can check on her healing process," I told them while shooing the warriors out of the infirmiry. I took the changeling and put her in a cell and strapped her to the bed with leather straps for extra measure. I checked her blood levels, which seemed to be stabilizing out now. I felt a rumble in my stomach as I felt the need to get something to eat. I walked out of the infirmary locking it behing me and putting a sign on the door stating that I was out for a lunch break. I wandered down to my little hovel on the 13th level. I unlocked the room and wandered over to my little stockpile of love, and ate a small portion of it as I was trying to keep most of it for the winter when getting love would be harder. I sat on a chair and went into another daydream state, and one thing following another I passed out. 12 hours later, 24 hours until Main Hive collapse I awoke and realized how much trouble I was gonna be in that I had left my station for such and elogated amount of time. I galloped out of my house and made my way back to the infirmary. When I got there I noticed one thing first off, the infirmary door was open. I walked inside and was scared at what I saw. The cell that had held the injured changeling was now wide open and the changeling was also gone from the bed. I wrote a report to Chrysalis about how I had failed to follow out my job rules and that a injured and potentially infected and deadly changeling wandering around the hive. I sent the message to Chrysalis, and not only recieved a message, but a rather furious Chrysalis. I stared into her eyes and I thought I saw a part of the future where I would get ripped in two by the angered queen. "Why did you leave your post, Oddity," she yelled at me with boiling rage. I looked own out of her eyes now that I new I had failed. "And what is this infected changeling that you speak of?" Before I could answer one of the warriors that had brought in the injured changeling. "Oddity, we found a dead changeling," he announced to the whole room, then noticing Chrysalis and bowed to his queen. I followed the warrior towards were he was saying was a dead changeling. I saw the changeling and it was definitly dead. It's chest had been ripped open and main organs had been eated, which wasn't normal, as the only things that eat meat in Equestria were timberwolves, some dragons, and manticores, and none of those were down here. The rest of the changeling was also eaten. It's left eye had been partially devoured and jaw was hanging on by a single mussle. It's right front leg was dislocated with a bite on it and it's wings and horns were broken off and lying a few away. I quickly set up a quarintine area around the changeling and the tunnel that was home to the abandoned mines, was closed off to the rest of the hive. "Do you know what could have done this to him?" "No, and I don't think I'll get an answer that'll make sense," I walked over to the changeling to see the bite markings on his leg. The teeth markings matched a changelings teeth and jaw line. The warrior walked over to a necklace that was near one of the wings. He threw it into his pocket and carried on farther down the tunnel. I left the changeling alone and waited for the warrior to come back. I saw him running with what I could guess was a look of fear. He was maybe 20 hoofs away from me when he tripped and I saw the infected pony that had escaped the infirmiry, get on top of him and bite down hard onto his neck. I stood up and began to walk over to the warrior to help him but was thrown against the wall by the other dead changeling. I ran away from the scene as the reanimated changeling banged against my shield spell that was what I called my quarintine spell. The shield eventually broke after the multitude of hits on the shield spell. I ran toward Crysalis's room to signal a phase 3 attack on the hive, code red. I reached her room and knocked until the door was opened by Chrysalis's magic glaze, I told her the attack on the warrior and the reanimated changeling. Her look was of humor, as if she thought I was pulling a prank. Her emotions changed rapidly when we heard a scream. She raced outside and looked over the balcony of the hive and looked down at the bloody mess that was once the hive's main center. She watched as her subjects ate each other and run away from who they thought was infected. She flew down and was immeadiatly attacked by the infected changelings. I watched as she was eaten slowly by the infected. This was now a Phase 4 attack on the Hive, Code Black. I ran to my house, to only be stopped by six infected and chased back towards the queens quarters. I quickly gained more infected and soon I had a hoard on me. I hit a nurse on my way, one of the lower level nurses that dealt with younger changelings. She fell and pulled three or four changelings off my tail. The infected were slowly gaining ground, to a point that one had touched my wing and me run faster. I ran inside the quarters of my recently fallen queen, and slammed the door behind me. They were quickly destroying the wooden door, so I made my way to the escape tunnel behind the queens bed. I heard the door get destroyed, so I shut the door to the escape tunnel but not before taking off one of the infecteds legs. I ran the rest of the way, to scared to look back incase the got through the rock wall. 2 hours later I had left the tunnel 30 minutes ago and walking to the first location I thought good. Canterlot. I was already half way there and didn't plan on stopping. My hive was no longer, as when I had left the escape tunnel, the hole into the Hive was burning and layers were exploding everywhere. I had been crying for the past hour over all my lost friends and family. I saw the small town of Applelousa, and I decided to stop for a quick drink even though my brain was yelling this was a bad idea. I got closer and closer and I noticed a pony with a cowboy hat on and a golden mane and tail, with a golden coat. He noticed me and ran towards the town. I just sat down and cried into my hoofs until I heard coughing. I looked up to be at spear point by the royal guard. I don't think was my cavalry, but it was better than being dead. //-------------------------------------------------------// Ponyville Decay //-------------------------------------------------------// Ponyville Decay I was waiting around the bakery waiting for the Cakes to return from their Canterlot vacation. I had thrown together a quick surprise party in a word of their quick return due to an accident in their Canterlot bakery. From the sounds of it, the accident was a mishap in the kitchen. Everypony was silently waiting in the packed service area of the bakery. We all heard the sound of somepony trotting up. We got ready to jump at whoever was on the other side of the door. You heard the familiar sound of the lock sliding out of place and the door opening. "SUPRISE," everypony yelled all at one. I saw the shocked Mr. Cake standing in the door holding a basket of cupcakes. He walked in and set the basket on the table next to the other treats and drinks. He walked over to me and asked me to follow him. I followed him outside and saw Mrs. Cake struggling to stand up out of her carriage. I walked over and pulled her out of the ride with the help of Mr. Cake. Mrs. Cake looked terrible so I was thinking about throwing off the part so she could rest. I wandered back inside and shoved everypony out of the bakery so Mrs. Cake could get some rest. I was sad that I had to throw off probably the party I had ever except that one time with Twilight when she came to town. I helped Mr. Cake get Mrs. Cake into their room and their bed so she could rest and get better faster. I left the Cakes to get some rest after their vacation away from Ponyville. I wandered over to Twilights castle to say hi to her after she got back from doing stuff in a medical lab. I trotted over to her castle, when I saw Applejack with her little sister, Apple Bloom, wandering over to Rarity's boutique. From here Applejack looked tired and was coughing a lot. I walked over to the boutique and got in earshot of AJ's and Rarity's conversation. "Hi Rarity, I was wondering if you could watch over Apple Bloom for awhile," AJ asked Rarity with a grimace as she tried to hold back another cough. "My oh my darling, of course, but you should go see a doctor," Rarity replied. I watched as Apple Bloom walked inside and hugged Sweetie Belle. Rarity closed the door and Applejack wandered on back to her home on Sweet Apple Acres. I continued on my journey to Twilight's castle. 30 minutes later, 20 hours until the fall of the hive, 27 hours until the end of Ponyville I knocked on Twilights castle door and waited for her to answer. Spike answered the door looking like his normal self, except with rings under his eyes. He let me in and led me to Twilight. Twilight was laying in her bed, her mane looking like a birds nest. Her wings looked like they were attacked by a tornado, with some of the feathers laying on her bed and on the floor. Her horn looked cracked and dry as if it hadn't been used for a while. She was constantly coughing up a dark black substance. Spike stopped me at the door and walked in by himself. He tried to give Twilight some soup, but when she ate it she threw it back up. "Hi Twilight, I stopped by to say hi, but I guess your not doing too well so I'm going to leave," I told her as I left. If she had heard me she didn't acknowledge me. I left her house and headed back home to get some sleep. I saw few ponies on the cobbled streets of Ponyville, which wasn't very strange as few ever left their house. I said hi to the very few ponies that I had found on my way back home. I reached my house and wandered inside towards my rather comfy couch. I laid down stomach down and passed out. 7 hours later, 13 hours until main hive collapse, 20 hours until Ponyville falls I awoke at around 2 in the morning. I got up and walked over to my kitchen in search of food. I found a box of saltine crackers and slowly ate them. I got some dip out of the fridge. I dipped the cracker into the dip and went back to eating slowly. I checked the time and the clock read 4 am. I had been eating crackers and dip for the past two hours. I put the foodstuffs away and got ready to head to work. I left my cozy house and walked to the bakery. Most ponies asked me why I left so early before my shift started, and my answer was always that I wanted to get a batch of cupcakes going before anypony showed up for their morning coffee and cupcake or muffin, with the occasional biscuit and cinnamon roll. I walked into the bakery and quickly got a batch of cupcakes going. I walked over to the counter and waited for ponies to come in. Today was going to be a pretty boring day. 18 hours later, Hive has already fallen, 2 hours until Ponyville falls I stretched as I ended my shift for the day. I left the bakery and sat on a bench next to Cheerilee. "Hi, Cheerilee," I announced myself to the school teacher. "Oh, hello Pinkie," she said back with a nice tone, even though I heard the tiredness in her voice. "Have you seen anypony recently?" "No, I only saw the regular ponies in the bakery today," I told her as I ate a chocolate cupcake that I had gotten from the bakery. "Well, I guess I'll see you around." I left the teacher as I headed down to AJ's farm to check on her. I wandered down to the orchard passing nopony on the streets. A ghost town is what Ponyville looked like right now. Even though it was 6:00 pm ponies should be outside right now. I reached Applejack's farm and knocked on the front door of the farmhouse, expecting Granny Smith or Big Mac to answer the door. Nopony answered the door. I knocked again, this time, a little harder. Nopony was answering the door. I tried the door knob and, to my surprise, opened. I walked inside the dark farmhouse. I saw nopony in the kitchen nor living room. I was about to leave thinking that they were all asleep until I heard a bang from upstairs. I slowly made my way up the stairs while avoiding the sixth, ninth and eleventh step, as they were the ones that creaked when a pressure was applied. I walked over to Apple Bloom's room first expecting to see nothing as Apple Bloom was at Rarity's. I next walked over to Granny Smith's room and saw nothing. I walked over to Applejack's room and saw nothing in the room. I finally walked to Big Mac's room and nearly screamed at what I saw. I saw Applejack and Granny Smith eating Big Mac. Applejack looked like herself, except the blood on her muzzle, coat, mane, and cowboy hat. Granny Smith, however, looked like she went through an industrial sized fan. Her coat was either bloodied or ripped apart. Here back left leg was mangled beyond all repair. It was broken in two places and was bleeding profusely. I slowly made my way away from the scene. I walked down the stairs, but miscounted the steps and stepped on the ninth step. A loud creak made it's way through the house, and for a moment, everything stopped. I looked back and saw an angered Applejack and Granny Smith looking at me. I ran down the rest of the stairs with a snarling Applejack and Granny Smith on my tail. I ran towards Twilight's castle and hoped I could get some help from the angered cow ponies. I ran faster than I knew I could and was outside of Twilight's castle withing a matter of a minute or two. I ran inside not bothering to knock. I ran towards Twilight's room and hoped she wasn't like Applejack. I looked in and saw Spike against the wall, with Twilight on top of him tearing at his throat and swallowing whatever she could get. I ran from the castle and not looking back I ran towards Rarity's boutique. Rarity was outside her boutique, taking her clothes off the line. She saw me and looked rather shocked that I had been crying. "Why are you crying my dear," she asked as I ran up to her. "Are you okay, Pinkie." "No, I'm not alright, Big Mac and Spike are dead, and Twilight, Granny Smith, and Applejack," I stopped as to make myself no throw up. "There is something wrong with our friends." "What do you mean dead my dear, Big Mac's right there," I turn and saw a partially eaten Big Mac. He looked at me and snapped his teeth together and snarling. I made a move for the boutique, which caused Big Mac to charge. Rarity and I ran into the boutique and slammed the door behind us. Rarity leaned against the door with all her weight to keep the beast out. I ran upstairs and saw Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle asleep on a pile of soft looking cloth. I quickly awoke them and told them what was happening. We started to make our way back downstairs, until I heard the front slam open, followed by a scream as Rarity was probably eaten by Big Mac. Sweetie Belle ran downstairs, followed by her scream and then just a lot of chewing. Apple Bloom and I quickly ran towards the window of the boutique, and we left that way. Apple bloom had left first, then I left. I looked back and saw a partially devoured Rarity in the stairwell. I quickly left via the window, before she saw me, and ran towards my house. Sweet Celestia what is heppening to my friends. //-------------------------------------------------------// Canterlot Has Fallen //-------------------------------------------------------// Canterlot Has Fallen As I brought in the changeling, I ha noticed that the changeling was odd. Its intelligence was higher than any other warrior they had brought in the previous years. It's strong chitin gave off a warrior feel, but its intellect was that of a nurse. Its chitin was stained red with blood, so I had thought it was crazy. That thought was only hardened with the changeling's crazed ramblings. It said things along the lines of 'Chrysalis is dead' and 'the hive has collapsed. "Shut up back there, you damn changeling," my father yelled back to the changeling. This seemed to work as the changeling shut up and started mumbling to himself. I hoped he would shut up entirely, but if he didn't then I hoped Celestia or one of the medical ponies had a spell to shut him up or mute him temporarily. His crazed ramblings were going to drive me to the brink of insanity. As we neared Canterlot, the changeling decided to take a nap and paced out. I looked back at his cage and thanked the heavens. We landed peacefully on the cobbled landing area for prisoners and got out of the harnesses holding us to the cage. I walked over and poked the changeling very softly as to not give him a heart attack. He awoke and backed into the corner of the cage while hissing at me. I laughed at his pathetic attempt to seem intimidating. "Quit playing with the changeling and get over and help me with the cart," I looked over to see a cart that also held a cage in the back. I also saw three ponies of the royal guard come over and talk to my father. "Storm, come here." "What is it, dad," I asked him as I walked over to him. "Celestia wants you to go to Ponyville and check on Princess Twilight Sparkle," he told me, which made my heart jump into my throat. I had never met Princess Twilight Sparkle, even though I had always wanted to meet her. "Okay, dad," I told him as I followed the one unicorn guard, earth pony guard and, the one pegasi guard to the royal guard quarters. "Okay, kid, all your going to be doing is checking up on the princess and giving her this letter," the one pegasi guard said. "Why don't you just send it via her dragon," I asked. "Her dragon has fallen ill and isn't receiving our letters," she told me, while I grabbed the note from her hoof. We got to the chariots and loaded up for the flight from Canterlot to Ponyville. The other pegasi guard got into the harness, the unicorn cast a shield over the chariot and the earth pony sat with his spear next to him, I also noticed the two other chariots with more guards, mostly unicorns and earth ponies. I got strapped in and got ready to fly. "What's with the other guards," I asked. "Since we are delivering a top secret, that only the princesses should know about then we have to have extra defense around you," she told me. I stared back at her while still giving a questioning look. "What I mean is we have to defend you with our lives if we lose that file or you then we have failed our mission, but our new mission would be to deliver that message anyway we see fit." "Okay, so we need the extra defense as a backup delivery pony," I said while looking dumbfounded. "Cool." We took off from the landing pad and flew to Ponyville. 2 hours later, 30 minutes till fall of Ponyville, 1 hour till fall of Canterlot, 15 minutes until Princess Twilight Sparkle falls We were approaching the town quickly, but it looked deserted, which wasn't normal for the rapidly expanding town. When I first arrived in Canterlot, Ponyville was barely the size of Appleloosa, but now it was almost bigger than Manehattan. We landed on the ground, and within a minute were on our way to Twilight's castle. I would have been jumping with anxiety and joy to finally meet the princess, but I was too confused as to why nopony was out at 6:00 pm. I was in the center of a group of guards, consisting of four unicorns, six pegasi, and eight earth ponies and then me. We were less than a block away from the castle, and I hoped we would be there in less than 10 minutes, but at the speed we were moving it would be about 15. We saw few ponies on the streets, but they didn't pay us any attention. After a tedious 20 minutes later we made it to the princess's castle. I knocked on the giant, wooden doors that looked if they had been crystallized. After nopony answered I tried pushing the door open and was surprised when the door opened. I heard what sounded like moans, that were deep and filled with hunger and anguish. I slowly walked in with two unicorns to the left and right of me, and six pegasi above me. I made my way slowly through the castle checking over my shoulder at the group every few minutes. "Where is her room," I asked Snowball, the pegasus guard that came and asked for my help with this task. "We take a right, then it should be five or so doors down," she said as we walked. We turned right and faced a more beautiful hallway then the rest. I slowly walked up to the slightly ajar doors. I looked in and saw the most disturbing sight I had ever seen. I saw the princess tearing and chewing at a dragon's neck, swallowing whatever meat she could manage to get from his scaly skin. "Princess, are you alright?" "Snowball, I don't think that's a good idea," one of the unicorns told her while backing away from the room. I looked into the room again and saw the princess staring back at me. Her eyes were bloodshot and bleeding, and her iris had a black to the original color. I backed away from the door and Snowball pushed her way in front of me. She opened the door all the way and hugged the princess, only to get her throat ripped out by the princess. Snowball was forced to the ground and eaten in front of us all. I looked back at the door to see the dragon, his eyes also being bloodshot, sprinted at one of the unicorns that were to focused on the princess to noticed his waiting demise. The rest of the group ran from the building. I ran with an earth pony guard and a unicorn and split up from the rest of the group. "Can you teleport us back to the castle," I asked the unicorn guard, who only nodded and lit his horn and teleported the separated groups back to the castle. When my vision came back to me I realized we were right in front of Celestia's room. I knocked and heard Celestia say come in from the other side of the wooden door. I walked in and saw Celestia staring out her window. Her room was painted a warm golden glow that was getting cast through the window. I walked over to see parts of Canterlot burning and the same things that the princess had turned into. "Celestia, princess Twilight Sparkle is dead, and I could not deliver my letter." "I figured as much, I sent you when I felt a connection between me and her break," she told me. "What state was she in when you saw her?" "She was eating her dragon ma'am, then she attacked Snowball, then the dragon attacked one of the unicorns," I told her. "Ma'am, may I ask what is going on?" "Storm, go with your father and get into a cell, with a unicorn guard, and whatever you do don't leave that cell," she told me, at this point, she was crying. I left my room and grabbed the unicorn guard that had saved the group, and left to go find my father. I left the castle and went to my house, where my father lived with me and my mother. I galloped to my small apartment and quickly unlocked the door. I went inside and backed right back outside. "Why didn't you go in," the unicorn asked. I opened the door to show him the festering corpse of my mother eating the carcass of my father. "Oh." "Teleport us to the Canterlot dungeons," I told him and before I could blink we were in the Canterlot dungeons. I ran down the halls of the dungeon, looking for one pony in particular. I was looking for the changeling.
