Daughter Of A Princess
The Beginning
Load Full StoryMy name is Lunar Sparkle. I live in that shabby little orphanage in the outskirts of Ponyville. It isn't the greatest place to be in, but it's better than nothing. Weird thing is, I'm an alicorn. Ever since I was put in that place, I've always been watched by just about everyone. They say they are my friends, but at the same time they're whispering behind my back about me.
Though, it's no surprise. I mean, who wouldn't be suspicious of an alicorn? Well, anyways, I used to think maybe I was that Sparklepants's kid, but my personality is far from hers. I mean, how can you be so nice? It seems impossible to me, honestly. I just don't get it.
Besides all of that nonsense, I have a few other fun facts about me. My best friend's name is Willow. She's pretty chill, but probably the most timid girl I've ever met. Not around me though, of course. She has a great sense of humor. By the way, she's a Pegasus.
Her coat is a tinted white, with a grey and light-ish blue mane. Her eyes are the prettiest green you've ever seen, though, no cutie mark like yours truly. Both of us are right at 12 and 3 quarters, and we're just about the same height, though I'm a slight bit taller. Probably an alicorn thing.
Anyways, today was an interesting day. Unlike most days, we had some interesting visitors. Most likely because of our interesting history at the orphanage. Here's the whole story for all you crazy ponies, from beginning to end.
I got up, as usual, yawning and stretching as I arose from my cot. Willow was right beside me, snoring softly, more cutely than annoyingly. I smirked, poking her in the nose as she sneezed and jolted awake, groaning a bit. Both of us climbed out of the cots, heading towards the door. A grey mare with a black mane blocked the doorway. Miss Shade. I thought.
She smiled oh so innocently, peering down at the two of us.
"Hey you two, what are you doing up so early this fine morning?"
We exchanged glances, then blew a raspberry at her before knocking her over, flying out the door quickly.
"You two get back here right now!" She snaps, quickly racing after them before a orange mare with a curly, slightly messy mane with piercing blue eyes stopped her.
"Miss Shade. You know not to scare the children. Especially since we have guests coming!" The mare yelled, picking up a checklist with her magic and handing it to Shade.
"But Sunny....." Shade whined, making puppy-eyes at so-called "Sunny".
"No buts! And Miss Shade, you will call me Administrator SunBright, unless you think you can defy me." SunBright snapped, peering at the younger mare.
"Fine, SunBright...." Shade mumbled, sighing as she would head on to the Administrator's office to make preparations for the visit later today.
Meanwhile, Willow and I would be heading towards the Cafeteria, talking about the visitors that wild supposedly be coming today.
"Snow said that 'Sparklepants' was comin', I think." Willow told her friend. "And I think Celetia too."
I would look at her, a slight bit surprised. "Both of them?" I asked her, my friend nodding.
"Eh, I guess it's just some friendship nonsense. What a bunch of crap." I mumbled, reaching the Cafeteria with Willow, grabbing a tray.
We went through the lunchline, heading towards the table they normally sat at. Some friends of ours were there, Hazel and Fawn.
A purple alicorn soon walked up, sitting beside Lunar and her other friends, making an awkward smile to her.
Princess Twilight.. I thought, sighing a bit as I looked up at the alicorn princess. She was a lot taller and bigger than I imagined, but eh, I didn't really care anyways.
"Hey, uh....Lunar, right?" Twilight said, laughing awkwardly. Lunar nodded slowly, taking a bite of her lunch as the table went silent.
"Miss Twillight? Uh...Why are you here?" Willow asked, making me facehoof in frustration.
"Well, actually, I need to speak with Lunar...." She clears her throat. "Alone.."
Twilight motions me to the office, me deciding to follow her. We reach the office, her pulling up a chair for me and sitting in another she got for herself.
"Now, Miss Lunar...I don't know how to say this, but...." Twilight was silent for a moment, thinking.
"But what? Are you going to take me away? Huh?" I spat, huffing in annoyance.
"Listen, Lunar....." Twilight took a deep breath. "I know this might sound crazy, but....You're my daughter."
I narrowed my eyes, sighing. "Do you really expect me to believe a word you say? How do you even know?"
"Your last name is Sparkle, and....You're an alicorn. I've been doing research, and you are in my DNA as my daughter. Now, about...Staying here.." Twilight shuffled her front hooves, looking at the ground.
"I'm not leaving this place for some sparkly stupid princess! I like it here, believe it or not!" I screamed, my eyes blazing like fire.
"Listen, Lunar....You have to. You....You legally belong to me now, according to law." Twilight told her, straightening up a bit.
"Oh yeah?! And where were you all my life, huh?! Some mother you are!" I screeched, tears falling to the floor.
"Lunar, I'm so--"
Twilight cut off as Lunar flew out of the room, SLAMMING the door.
Twilight sighs, looking at a picture on the wall of Lunar when they first got her from the streets. She looked back down at the ground, a single tear falling to the floor.
