Chapter 1 Worst possible thing
It was a normal day in Ponyville. Everypony was, just as usual, minding their own business. Rarity had just finished a big order for some big shot in Canterlot. She could finally relax and take a break. That order took on her nerves and body. She starts to brush her hair while watching herself in the mirror.
“Ah, Rarity. Once again you have bit of too much to chew. Well, now it’s finally finish. But still, I am exhausted. Maybe a trip to the spa could fix me u…” she stops brushing when she sees something terrible. For a normal eye it would be impossible to be seen. But for a skilled eye like Rarity’s it’s easy to spot. There, in the middle of her mane. Right there, between her purple hair that is her beautiful mane is a small, almost invisible yet noticeable piece of gray hair.
A high pitch scream was then heard all over Ponyville.
Twilight and Spike had just finished reorganizing every book in the entire library. After the scream all of the books have fallen down and all that work was for nothing.
“What was that?” Twilight asks while she climbs out of a pile of books.
“It sounded like one of Rarity’s screams.” Spike responds.
“How do you know how Rarity’s screams sound like?” Twilight asks, clearly annoyed while she climbs of the pile.
“Eh, uh. I know it because uh...” Before he can answer a white blue light appears in the middle of the library. After the light have disappeared Rarity’s stands there with a look like she have seen a ghost.
“Rarity? I didn’t know you could do telepo…” But before Twilight could finish Rarity grabs her with her front hooves and starts to shake her violently.
“Don’t care about that. I have just discovered THE! WORST! POSSIBLY! THING!” Rarity screams before levitating a couch out of nowhere to her where she lays down on and starts to cry like a baby.
“I’m just going into the kitchen.” Spike says. He then starts to run off to the kitchen in hope of escaping Rarity’s panic attack. He has seen how the ‘drama queen’ can be sometimes.
Twilight, on the other hand-hoof? Uh whatever, Twilight on the other hoof stands behind while Rarity is crying. She starts to panic when she sees her friend in a state like this, even if she knows that she can overreact sometimes. And as her good friend she immediately tries to calm her down.
“There, there Rarity. What is it that’s troubling you?” Twilight asks.
Rarity tries her best to calm herself down whom she has little success with but she is available to calm herself enough to talk. She looks towards Twilight with teary eyes.
“I-I just c-checked myself i-in the mirror a-after I had f-finished a b-big order a-and what I got t-to s-see w-was awful.” She says.
“What did you see?” Twilight asked.
Rarity grabs Twilight once again and takes her up-close to her head.
“I SAW THIS!” she screams while pointing up towards her mane. Twilight tries to see what she is supposed to see, but she sees nothing wrong.
“I can’t see what’s wrong, Rarity.” Twilight says awkwardly. This just seems to addend on Rarity’s broken state. She takes Twilight even closer to her mane and is almost pressing her towards it.
“I have a gray hair.” Rarity screams and falls down and cries once again.
Twilight was taken aback by this. She didn’t first know what to answer until she says. “That’s all, oh Rarity. You got me worried there for a minute. I first thought it was something important an…” She once again gets interrupted by Rarity pressing her face towards her own. Twilight could see fury in her eyes.
“What do you mean by THAT Twilight? This is important. Do I have to spell it out for you? I! HAVE! A! GRAY! HAIR! Do you know what this could mean to my career? It could completely destroy it. I need to get rid of it right away.” Rarity says with a dramatic voice.
“Okay but why come to me? Can you not just simply color it over with mane dye?” Twilight asks.
“It’s not that simple. Any trained eye can see if I use mane dye so no. I need something else. That’s why came to you. I think you might have a spell that can make me younger.” Rarity says with a glee.
“WHAT! No Rarity. You cannot simply just do that. That’s not simple magic. I don’t even think such magic exist.” Twilight says irritated.
“Don’t you start with magic that don’t exist. You said the same thing about wing magic and look what that got us. I had wings for almost a day. So you could either help me or not.” Rarity responds while giving out a loud ‘hmph’.
All Twilight could do was just groan. “Even if such spell would even exist we cannot even be sure if it’s safe. We don’t know what will happen.”
“Oh Twilight, don’t even starts with me of safeness. Wasn’t I your little test subject for the wing spell? And still, how many spells have you made in your days Twilight. Celestia knows how many. Many of them have been a success Twilight.” Rarity says.
“And those that went south.” Twilights asks. Trying to turn the conversation for her favor.
“Those don’t count.” Rarity says. Not backing down.
“But but, huh FINE!” Twilight screams clearly annoyed. She knows she can’t win the conversation and decides to just give in.
Rarity beams to this and grabs her for a hug. “Oh thank you, thank you, thank you, Twilight. I don’t know how to thank you more than that.” Rarity says while breaking the hug.
“Well, you could start with helping me cleaning up the library.” Twilight says while pointing towards the pile of books spread all over the floor with a annoyed look on her face.
“Oh, yes I could do that.” Rarity says awkwardly.
While both ponies starts to cleans up the library Rarity spots a book that might look promising. She looks into the book and found the spell she was looking for. A spell that can alter the age of ponies. Rarity once again beams. She quickly ran towards Twilight to show her her discovery.
“Rarity, I don’t think this is the spell we are looking for.” Twilight says after have checked on the spell.
“Come on Twilight, this is the best we have and as you said. It might not be another one like this.” Rarity responds.
“But”
“No ‘buts’. Use the spell now Twilight. It can’t be that hard.” Rarity says while clearly losing her patient. Twilight groans and starts to read how to use the spell. After a couple of minutes she is done.
“Alright Rarity, here goes nothing.” Twilight starts to concentrate and charges up her horn. Rarity starts to glow and starts to feel small changes. Everything goes perfect until Spike comes in to the room from the kitchen.
“Hey, Twilight you want anything from the kitchen?” Spike yells and this clearly interrupts Twilights concentration. This leads to the spells goes out of control. Before anyone can react a big white light erupts around them and they all gets knocked out.
Twilight wakes up with a groan. She looks around and founds, once again, the library in a total mess. She, once again, groans and looks around. She looks towards the spot where Rarity was when she cast the spell. What she saw surprises her. There in Rarity’s place lay a small unicorn filly with a nicely done mane. Its coat was in a marshmallow white color and the filly seemed not to have acquired its cutie mark yet. After seeing the filly look she suspected the worst. She slowly walked towards the filly and poked her on her belly.
“Rarity?” She asked. The respond she got was a small cute groan from the filly. It slowly opened its small blue eyes and looked towards the lavender mare. When the filly responded Twilight got her answer.
“Did it work Twilight?” the filly asked. All Twilight could do was backing away in fear of what just happened. The filly repeated its question. “Twilight did it wor…” The filly stopped talking and looked around with a surprise look on her face. “Twilight, why are you so big?” She asks.
“Rarity?” Twilight asks again.
“Yes, it’s me Twilight. Don’t you recognize me? Why are you so big? You didn’t answer my question.” Rarity asks inpatient.
“Rarity, I didn’t grow. I think you have shrunk.” Twilight says to the little Rarity in front of her.
“W-what” Rarity says and looks around. She sees that everything is bigger than it was before and she finally realizes that her voice sounds younger and smaller. She gets into panic mode. “No no no. I can’t be smaller or younger or whatever happened to me no no no.” she says while running around Twilight. Twilight don’t either now what happened, then she realize it. When spike came in she lost concentration and put too much power in the spell. She didn’t change Rarity one or two years, no. she changed her with at least twenty years. She is now a small filly.
“Rarity, please. Calm down. We can fix this.” Twilight says while trying to calm the panicking filly down. “Just calm down. We can get through with this.”
Rarity starts to calm down and have stopped running around. She looks back up at Twilight. “Yeah you’re right. It’s still me, Cutie mark and all. I’m just younger. We can fix this as we always do.” Rarity says in try of calming down. Twilight think she should tell her which she decides to do.
“Hum Rarity funny story he he. You don’t have your cutie mark anymore.” She says awkwardly to the now calm filly.
“I don’t have WHAT!” She yells and looks quickly towards her flank. She is a blank flank. At that movement it felt like her brain should just shut down right there. She falls down on the ground still looking towards her flank. Twilight quickly runs towards the little filly.
“Rarity, are you okay?” she asks the motionless filly.
“Yeah, I’m fine. It’s just a lot to take in. Yeah that’s right a lot to take in he he he WHY DON’T I HAVE A CUTIE MARK?” She yells while pressing her small face on to Twilights. Because of this Twilight is being thrown back. “WHY?” She yells again. “Once again you messed up big time Twilight. Can you make ANY spell that doesn’t end in disaster?” Rarity yells at top of her lungs.
Twilight backs away from the raging filly before realize that she has nothing to be afraid of. It’s not completely her fault. Whose idea was all of this? The little filly in front of her.
“Wait just a minute Rarity.” She says. This stops the raging filly that just now gets a confused look on her face.
“What gives you the right to be mad at me? Remember whose idea it was to use that spell. Remember who was willing to be the test subject. Remember who was so desperate to become younger and didn’t even bother to look at the details.” Twilight yells to the now covering filly. “I think you know all of these answers DON’T YOU.” She is now yelling also at top of her lungs. Rarity is now covering into a furry ball on the ground. Her eyes start to water up. She knows all the answers and she knows this is all her fault. Rarity does the only logical thing that any filly in her age would do in a situation like this. She starts to cry.
Twilight is once again taken back. There, one of her best friends is crying like a little foal. And Rarity is now one which just added up to the guilt feelings. She just yelled at a foal and her best friend. She sees the little filly tries to stand up and run away but she quickly grabs her with her magic and pulls her into a hug. Rarity first kicked, trying to get free, but Twilights grip was to strong. Twilight now feels terrible and does her best shot of calming her down. “There there Rarity, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to yell at you. There there.” She says to the crying filly.
“Please, just stop crying.” Seeing that it doesn’t work she starts to feel the guilt again and starts to tear up herself. She can’t take it anymore. Twilight starts to cry too.
Rarity stops crying at this and looks up towards the crying lavender unicorn. She also feels awful for yelling at one of her best friends. She quickly returns the hug to the crying adult unicorn and puts a smile on her face. Twilight stops crying and looks down at the small filly. She sees Rarity wearing a smile and cannot resist smiling herself. Both just sit there watching each other smiles before Rarity finally breaks the silence.
“I’m sorry I became mad at you and yelled at you, Twilight.”
“Don’t be, I am just as guilty as you.” Twilight responds. “I’m sorry I yelled at you, Rarity.”
“It’s just that I’m a little scarred of this. That’s all. When I saw that my cutie mark was gone I also noticed that all of my knowledge for fashion was gone to. I don’t remember anything of that.” Rarity said with a sad look on her face.
“W-wait what, you mean you don’t remember anything about fashion anymore.” Twilight says while the worry starts to grow again.
“Yeah, it feels like a part of my memory is just gone. I still know who I am and everything else that is important. But the fashion part is just gone.” Rarity says hugging the lavender unicorn tighter. Snuggling with her small muzzle onto her coat.
Twilight noticed the small filly’s tighter grip around her and notices her snuggling to.
“There there Rarity. I promise to help you here.” She says to Rarity while patting her back. “That’s what’s friends are for.” Rarity smiles at this while looking up. Both ponies break the hug and stands up. Twilight immediately sprints towards the spell book to check if she missed something. Meanwhile Rarity has now noticed something strange behind Twilight.
“Um Twilight. Even if a part of my memory is gone is still can’t remember you not having a green wall.” The little filly says before pointing behind her. Twilight turns around and is as well shocked to see a giant green surface there behind them. It also appears to be made out of scales. She is as just dumfounded as Rarity at seeing this before she then remembers something.
Wait, wasn’t Spike behind me when I did the spell. Can that be? She thinks. It is quick to be answered.
“Now when you two are done apologizing to each other can anypony might be able to tell me what just happened?” A booming voice from above said.
Both ponies looked up and saw a giant head looking down towards them. Both ponies backed away from the dragon before saying.
“Oh no...”

Chapter 2 BIG and small problems
Both the dragon and the ponies stared at each other for what felt like hours before Rarity stepped forward.
”Spike?” She asked.
The giant dragon in front of them moved its head towards the ground and looked right at them. It then opened its mouth. ”That’s my name. Don’t rip it.” The dragon answered. Still with its booming voice.
“Spike, is that you” Twilight asked. Still having trouble believing what she is seeing.
“Who else would it be? Do you see any other dragons around here?” Spike says while giving both ponies a ‘no shit Sherlock’ look on his face. Both ponies now found courage to walk up towards the dragon. Twilight finally said.
“What happened? How did you become so…big?” She asked, trying to get out of the shock that Spike had grown…again.
“Twilight, you know me. If I knew I would tell.” He received a suspicious glare from Twilight. “Oh come on, you know what I mean.”
“But I thought you could only grow when you where hoarding.” Rarity said. “Have you been hoarding in secret Spike?” She glares at the giant dragon.
"What, no. I have not, honestly.”Spike says.
“But how did you get so big then?” Twilight asked the dragon.
“I said I don’t know. I was just preparing a sandwich when I came out here and asked if you wanted something and then BAM, a white light and I awake with my head in the ceiling.” Spike said, still having trouble of not destroying too much while moving his giant body.
Sudden realization stroke Twilight at that movement. “I think I know what happened.”
“What?” both filly and dragon said at the same time.
“When I was doing that spell on you Rarity you turned into a filly. But Spike was already a baby.” She received a glare from the giant dragon which she laughed awkwardly at. “He he. As I was saying. Because he was already a baby the spell couldn’t make him younger so it must have gone the other way around.”
“Wait, so you mean…?”
“Yes, spike. I think you just grow older. I even think you are close to adult hood now.” She says while looking at the dragon in his eyes. The dragon on other hand-claw? Gah you know what forget it. The dragon on the other hand beamed at this.
“Wait, so you mean I’m a full grown dragon now. And I don’t need to hoard stuff cause I am now an adult and that means I’m big an….” He says with a smile but gets interrupted before he can finish.
“Spike, You’re going to start sound like Pinkie if you keep talking that fast.” Twilight said, trying to calm the giant happy dragon.
“So let me get this straight. I became younger while Spike became older, how?” Rarity asked, trying to get into the conversation.
“I told you before. You were already an adult so you became younger but Spike was already young so he became older.” Twilight explained to the confused filly.
“Okay, I think I understand but Twilight. You have a solution for this? Not only for me, but for spike too as well.” Rarity says while pointing up towards the dragon.
“What, why would I want to be small again. I’m finally a big dragon this is going to be awesome an…”he is once again interrupted by a Twilight that pokes on is belly. She motion him to come down to her level, he does so. He puts his head next to Twilight. Twilight then whispers into his ear.
“Don’t forget if you are this big you’re going to have problem with you know what.” Twilight says while pointing at Rarity.
“What do you mean? Ooooooh. I get it now. You’re right.” he says calmly before he fully realizes what she really meant and starts to panic. He quickly moves his head up to the ceiling, almost hitting it. “Twilight, we must find I cure and that fast.” He says fast, still panicking.
“Okay, don’t worry. I will get on it right away.” Twilight says while runs away towards the spell book once again. Meanwhile Spike and Rarity exchanges looks with each other. Both then looks away and their own direction. Spike finally breaks the silence.
“Soooo, nice weather we have today.” He says while looking out of a small window. He noticed a whole bunch of small fillies that are running around outside I panic. He looks wondering at them before Rarity answers.
“Yeah, the pegasi has really made a good weather today.” She says before she looks towards Spike that is now looking down at her. “soooo. What did Twilight whisper to you?” She says with a smile. Spike on the other hand starts to blush of this.
“Well she said you know that thing and like that and also this, hehe.” Spike says before silencing himself. Rarity just stands there and looks at him with a dumbfounded look on her face. She is about to asks again when Twilight interrupts the two with an annoyed scream.
“Gah, I can’t find anything that can solve this. Even the other books are clueless.” She screams then looks back at the dragon and the filly. “I’m sorry.” She says while hanging her head low. The marshmallow white filly walks up to the sad unicorn. She sits next to her and hugs her.
“There there, Twilight. We will get through this. You don’t need to strain yourself on the first day while looking for a cure.” Rarity said still hugging the lavender unicorn.
Twilight looks down on the filly and puts a smile on her face. She hugs back.
“Thanks Rarity.” She says. “But I must find I cure for this fast. Who knows how bad it could have happened if have put more energy into that spell. It could have maybe engulfed the entire town” Twilight says while the panic starts to build up again.
“I think that is was just happened, Twilight.” An unknown voice says to the two unicorns.
Twilight, Rarity and Spike looks at the direction where they heard the talking and both their jaws drop on what they see. There stand also a marshmallow white unicorn with a pink and light purple mane. She got song notes for a cutie mark and her voice is sweet and nice. Rarity lets go of the lavender unicorn and walks up to the new unicorn. She then says.
“Sweetie Belle?”
The new unicorn looks down at the filly.
“Rarity?”
Twilight and Spike sits there and looks at the scene before Spike says.
(Cough) (Cough) ”Awkwwwaaarrrd.” He says, receiving a glare from Twilight. Before anypony can react both the white unicorns’ faint right there on the spot. Twilight quickly sprints up to the two fainted unicorns’ and checks if they are okay. She managed to shake life into the unicorn now confirmed as Sweetie Belle. Rarity on the other hand is still unconscious. Sweetie Belle opens her eyes and sees the face of Twilight looking down at her.
“Oh Twilight…what happened?” She asks. She looks towards where Rarity lies.
“So, it wasn’t a dream?” She asks and looks once again at the lavender unicorn.
“He he. No it seems it wasn’t.” Twilight says awkwardly. Sweetie rolls her eyes and finally says.
“By the looks of it. You are still like you were before while everypony else had their age altered. That would mean that you are behind this.”
“No no. what makes you think that?” Twilight says, trying to convince Sweetie that she is innocent but fails. Sweetie just looks at her with a glare. Twilight acknowledges herself defeated.
“Okay, you got me. Except for that I’m still at my original age, what gave me away?”
“You are the most powerful unicorn I know so it wasn’t so hard to figure that out.” Sweetie says in a calm tone. Twilight nods to confirm this. Sweetie rolls her eyes again and turns to take a look at the dragon she recognizes as Spike, except he’s bigger now. Twilight then realizes something.
“Hey Sweetie Belle?” Twilight asks, Sweetie looks away from the dragon and looks towards her. “What did you mean with ‘everypony’?”
Sweetie just sits there and looks confused at the lavender mare before saying.
“Let me guess. You have not yet looked out of the window.” Twilight shakes her head. Sweetie motions Twilight to look out through a window. Twilight does so and what she sees makes the panic rise once again. The streets are full of young fillies’ and colts and she recognizes most of them. She sees and adult unicorn that looks like Dinky doo carrying a filly Pegasus on her back that looks like a young Ditzy doo. She sees a young colt with a light brown coat and with a dark brown mane. He looks like Dr Whooves. She sees two young fillies which she recognizes as Lyra and Bon Bon. The entire street is full of ponies that she recognizes except their age is all wrong. All of them have wearing confused or scared looks on their faces. She backs away from the window with a scared look on her face. She looks at Sweetie Belle who nods to confirm this. Twilight looks back at the window. Then at Rarity, then at the window again and then last at Spike.
“Oh no” is all that Twilight can say.
“I need to check if my friends are okay.” She yells, sprinting to the door. Sweetie pick up her “big” sister and sprints after her. Twilight have just left the door when a voice from behind stops her dead in her tracks.
“Um, Twilight?” Twilight looks back and sees Spike’s noose sticking out of the door. “How am I supposed to get out of here?” He asks. Twilight looks at the dragon before saying.
“Maybe if you are reeeaaaally careful. You might be able to get out in the front. Sure, a big piece of the wall will go down but…”
CRASH
“…Not much I hope.” Twilight looks at her now demolished house. By the bits of her house now stand a purple and green dragon at his full height.
“Ops” is all that Spike can say. Twilight starts built up anger in her when she hears a lot of screaming around her.
“Dragon”
“Run for your lives”
“It is going to eat us”
“The horror, the horror”
All around her and her friends’ ponies runs away in fear of the “dangerous” dragon in Ponyville. In just a couple of seconds the entire town is empty.
“Okaaay” spike says before looking down at Twilight, Sweetie and the still unconscious
Rarity. “Sorry for the house, Twilight.” Twilight doesn't have time to look towards the giant dragon. She is in a hurry to check if her precious comrades are okay. That will say her books. When she arrives at her now destroyed house she sees a horrible sight. All around Spike’s claws lies all of the library’s books. Most of them now destroyed or damaged. She fells a tear at this sight and before she knows it. She starts to cry again. Sweetie walks up to the crying unicorn and puts a hoof on her back while Rarity now starts to finally wake up. What she sees is not what she expected. She sees a destroyed house, a giant dragon and a crying unicorn. Before she can realize it. She has blacked out once again. Sweetie rolls her eyes at this behavior and says.
“And I thought a was immature.” She looks back at Twilight. “Look Twilight. I know it is a sad sight but we need to go and check if the others are alright. I must know if Applebloom and Scootaloo are okay.” Twilight stops to cry when the thought of her friends comes up.
“You are right Sweetie. We need to check if the others are alright. Oh and Spike” after hearing his name the dragon looks down toward Twilight.
“Yes?”
“We don’t want any more scared ponies so if you could find a way to make sure you doesn’t get seen that would be great.” She says but all she receives is an annoyed look.
“If you haven’t noticed Twilight, I’m not really that easy to hide. Look at me. I’m bigger then the town hall. How am I supposed to hide myself? And even if we find a place for me o hide how am I going to get there without being seen.”
“Um… I… um. I didn’t really think of that” Twilight says awkwardly.
“I thought so.”
“Why can’t you just fly somewhere Spike?” Sweetie asks while standing behind Spike and looks up at his back.
“Sweetie, to fly I need wings and last time I was a giant huge dragon I did not have any… ohhhhhwwwwhhhaaaattttt?” Spike looks at his back and sees two giant purple wings attached there.
“I got wings…I GOT WINGS” before any pony can react Spike has already taken off. The wind from the wings knocks over the two unicorns.
“Spike, wait” Twilight yells but to now avail. Spike is already a couple of hundreds feet’s in the air. She looks at Sweetie Belle. “How did he know how to fly?”
“I dunno.” Is all Sweetie Belle says.
“Right, no time for that. We need to check if our friends are alright. We start with the closest one. Pinkie Pie.” After that was said. The Two adult unicorns, and still the unconscious Rarity still lying on Sweetie back, started to head towards the Sugarcube Corner to check on their friend.
