Pine trees and Purple Stars

In Equestria:

"I'm glad you came so quickly!" Twilight said to Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash as they came into the castle. "I'm so relieved that at least the three of you were able to come since Rarity is so busy with her shop, and Applejack is busy with apple buck season." The four of them sat down in their thrones.

"So what is it Twilight?" Rainbow asked.

"Ya are we here for baking?" Pinkie asked with excitement. "Ooh ooh or are we here for the map? Or...."

"Pinkie! Calm down!" Twilight said assertively, "you are here for a different reason." Pinkie pie frowned as Twilight got up from her throne. "I need to show you girls something." She ushered the three of them down the hall to a room with a lock on it.

  Twilight used her magic to unlock the lock. As it opened, a crystal staircase formed and the walked down.

"So what exactly is this place?" Rainbow asked as they reached the bottom. Everything was so dark the couldn't see anything. Suddenly  light turned on to reveal a lab set up and pairs of lab coats and safety glasses hanging on a coat hanger.

"This," Twilight explained, "is my lab. I go down here to...well.."

"Do experiment-y things?" Pinkie pie asked.

"Uh...yea...experiment-y things."

Rainbow rolled her eyes. Classic Twilight she thought.

Twilight lead them over to the portal she used to get into Canterlot high when the Sirens were causing trouble. She had moved it down here for safety purposes. Right beside it was a small table that had a pair of broken glasses on it.

  "The other day, I was down here, experimenting with a new chemical, it's going great! I've learned a lot! I'm only half way through the experiment so I have a lot to..."

"Ahem!" Rainbow scoffed, taking Twilight out of her science rant. Twilight cleared her throat and continued.

"Anyways, while I was down here, there was some sort of power surge, or something along the lines of that, and all of a sudden, the portal glowed a bright blue and these fell through. These aren't like normal pony glasses. These have to have come from the human world. But I have a feeling that these aren't from Canterlot high." Pinkie and Rainbow gave each other a worried look and Twilight continued. "They don't look like pony glasses sure, but they also don't look like any glasses I saw at Canterlot high." Twilight lifted the glasses with her magic to let Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Rainbow have a closer look.

"Did you tell the princess?" Fluttershy asked.

"Yes but she's not sure where they came from either." Twilight answered.

The four of them thought as they stared at the glasses. "Hmmmmm" they all said.

"Ooh OHH! I know! What if you put the glasses into the little magic holder at the top of the portal," Pinkie said as she pointed to the spot where Sunsets book was. "then it might take you to another world!"

Twilight replied, "That just might work....but then what?"

"We go through it! Duh!" Rainbow said with an annoyed tone in her voice.

"I'll send a letter to the princess and we'll go from there." Twilight said. The three walked back upstairs to await the princesses reply.

"Umm do I have to go to?" Fluttershy asked Twilight.

"It all depends on what the Princess says." Twilight answered, trying to reassure her friend.
