Spike's Imaginary(?) Friend
LOL: Lots Of Liars
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"I'm bored. I think I'll go see Rust again...since I'm already at the tower." As I ascend a certain thought creeps in my mind. "What's with princesses and towers?!"
I step into the room and Rust was not alone, he was accompanying Luna. "This ought to be interesting."
"Luna, locking yourself up is not going to solve anything." Rust says.
"It's not like I always go out."
"You know what I mean."
"I'm not talking to anypony unless I know what spoke to me." At that second Rust looks at me. I nod.
"Species: Homo Sapien, Human. Gender: Male. Name: Alexander Christopher Rowe. Age: 15 earthly years and 7-8 months: 19th of December. Profession: Student..." I facepalm as he continues to overload the poor mare with info about me. "... Favourite time of the day: Midnight, Hobbies-"
"Stop, just stop. I can speak for myself." I interrupt causing Luna to jump. "Hello, princess. The name's Alex."
"Uh, Hello...Alex. Are you the one that spoke to me the other day?"
"I didn't specifically speak to anyone, I just said 'Objective Complete' and you know the rest."
"Oh, well what was that objective?"
"I wanted to find Rust here. Speaking of which, can I borrow him for a sec?"
"Uh, sure." I grab him and go somewhere far in the room.
"Rust, I need a favor, I want you to keep Luna away from her sister and cheer her up a bit...and maybe mention a few good things about me, a few. Okay?"
"Affirmative."
"Good, now is there anything you want to tell me? anything at all? Imean, you're usually more talkative."
"Just stick to 2,3 and 7."
"Right, can you remind me of what they are?"
"Kindness, integrity and amnesty."
"Ooookay, why?"
"Is it wrong to practice virtues?"
"No, not at all. well, seeya." I look over to Luna and step closer "Have a nice day, princess."
"Thank you. B-but before you leave... Do you... Are you always around?"
"Around here and there.-" I notice that she is quite disturbed. "Oh, not always. I mean... I'll just go."
"Okay, all I need to do is waste time until I hear from Celestia...But what to do? *mental sigh* I could see what's Spike is up to, again" my 'wish' was granted as I find myself in the tree library.
"Don't get used to this, Spike." I say pretty annoyed.
"I wanted to talk to you about something." Again?
"What is it? I already told you the story of my life."
"I think that you need to go."
"Alright." I proceed to fly away.
"See that? You don't even want to be around." Dammit.
"It's not that, I know when I'm not wanted." He glares at me. "Where is Twilight?"
"She is packing to go to Canterlot, again. She wants to see if the library there is unorganized again."
"Will she meet the princess?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Tell her to either avoid Celestia or not go at all."
"Why?"
"Let's just say that she is not in the mood to meet anyone."
"How do you know?- Oh, right."
"Well? Go tell her!" He walks upstairs and I follow suit.
"Uh, Twilight?"
"Yes, Spike?"
"Are you sure that you want to go?"
"Positive, why?"
"And meet the princess?"
"Yeah, what's wrong with that?"
"Oh, um, It's just that there are books that need to be organized here."
"But you already did that, this morning."
"Oh, well in the other library." Twilight perks up.
"There is another library around?! I've got to go see it!" Nice one Spike.
"Y-Yeah! Right in front of the Everfree forest!"
"The trip can wait. Watch the library for me!" Aaaaand she's gone.
"Phew." He wipes drops of sweat.
"What's the matter? I mean sure you lied but it's not that hard."
"I never lie to Twilight."
"Oh yeah? I remember one Incident that involves a book and some green fire, Spiked punch."
"I was under a lot of pressu- How did you know that?"
"Uh, I heard that somewhere. You're a bit famous."
"Really? Whoa."
"Yeah, I've got to go-"
*SLAM*
"There was no library Spike!" Back so fast?
"Oh, um... What happened to you?" Yeah what happened? She looks really messed up. Tree sap and mud and a whole jungle in her mane. Is that gum?
"Long story. But I want explanation to your act. Is this some kind of joke?"
"No!"
"Then what?!"
"I don't think that you should see the princess."
"And why is that?"
"Uh, Alex told me?"
"Alex again? This is getting too far."
"But he exists!"
"Sure Spike." She trots across, probably to shower. "We need to talk, wait right there."
"See? That is why I was nervous!" He whispers to me.
"She's a really quick tempered mare."
"I swear, when this is over I'll-"
"Hey, would you prefer Twilight to get thrown out of Canterlot?"
"That will never happen. Now I want the real reason you made me lie!"
"I didn't tell you to lie, I just said that you need to talk her out of going."
"Doesn't matter now, what is the reason?"
"Okay, Celestia is working on some spell to make me real again and-"
"You talked to her?! How?"
"I don't understand it myself. Something about the astral...something. We meet everyday."
"That explains where you go most of the-" Twilight walks in interrupting the worried dragon.
"Now, where is that book?" She heads to the countless books. "Here it is! Your Inner Mind: The Complete Guide To Psych-"
"This won't work. He is real and you will see very soon."
"Well where is this Alex? Because if I can't see or hear him, then he does not exist."
"Princess Celestia will change him back real."
"Then I'll ask her." Crap! She started jotting a letter but there was something in the inbox.
*BLECH*
The parchment drops in the middle of the room. Twilight picks it up and reads, and puts on a confused face.
"What does it say?" Spike asks.
"It says that you're... right." She pauses "I'm sorry that I doubted you but it seemed so unreal."
"Yeah, but what does it say?"
"Here, read it yourself." She backs into a corner trying to comprehend what just happened.
*> Dear Spike,
Please come with Twilight to Canterlot right away, and bring Alex with you too. There is a lot to explain.
Princess Celestia.*
Whoa, what a short one.
"Now Alex, I want you to stand completely still." Celestia instructs.
"Alright."
"Where are you now?"
"Right in front of you." Her horn starts to glow. I feel the dizziness again. It lasts for two minutes.
"Are we done yet?"
"Almost." The magic flow stops. Aaaaaand I don't feel any different... Actually I don't feel anything.
"I think my legs fell asleep, and my arms, and everything else. But am I real now? can you see me?" The feeling slowly returns causing UNBEARABLE PAIN!
"It depends on your location." I sigh.
"I'm just destined to stay like this. Foreverrrr." Even Celestia seemed disturbed by the 'foreverrr' department.
