Staying Puft

Aside from the constant beeping of the monitoring equipment beside her hospital bed everything was quiet in Melisa’s room. Laying quietly in her bed she didn’t utter a sound, other than the obnoxious coughs she would occasionally have to let out, interrupting her peaceful sleep.

Her husband had not been back to check on her in a while, which had started to make her a little nervous that he had forgotten about her. Especially how close-to-fatal her condition was. She could die any time and he wouldn’t be there to share in their last moments together. It would have made her sick to her stomach had it not been for the fact that he had seen her earlier in the day, and spent probably half of it sitting beside her bed, holding her hand softly with a reassuring smile on his face.

Laying there awake, her hands resting gently above her covers atop her flat stomach.

She began to reminisce on all the times they had spent together: the nice walks when they would hold hands, talking about so many varying subjects, politics, hobbies, favorite movies, and just whatever weird stuff came to them that they could talk about. The nice drives that they would take along the coast, enjoying the soft gentle breeze against their faces as their car passed by so many buildings. And lastly those special moments in bed, though, those were thoughts that she wouldn’t disclose openly with anyone (not even the readers).

Biting her lip, a smile appeared on her face as she thought that she was probably to miss that the most after she was gone. The physical contact of their soft bodies rubbing up against each other, sharing the others sweat as the two of them would partake in the ultimate expression of one’s love for each other…Especially her. His…member would be more than happy to vouch for her on that.

She chuckled a little at the thought of her giving so much credit to such a simple sexual act. Somehow it just humored her to think about.

She suddenly turned her head to the side (right) as she heard someone opening the door. It slowly closed shut as whoever had come there walked into the room–…

–… the steps of soft shoes echoing around the room as it got louder and louder as it headed in her direction.

Coming to a halt in front of her bed, she looked up at a tall man that looked to be wearing a doctor’s coat. He looked back at her with a stern expression, before diverting his attention down to a small touchpad that he had brought in with him.

Just by looking at his face as he exhaled a heavy sigh she could tell that what he was about to tell her wasn’t good news.

“It is my unfortunate duty to inform you, Mrs. Stevens, that while we are working around the clock in an attempt to find…something that could improve your situation with this disease, there is simply just not enough information for us on that we can formulate a suitable cure or repellent to prevent the spreading from reaching other parts of your body.” He told her.

“A surgery is required for that, but…” he trailed off. Not really wanting to finish that sentence. His eyes tried looking away as a result–…

–… However, he was forced to when she asked him, “What? What kind of surgery?” His eyes looked back down at her after she finished.

“The surgery is very invasive, and could potentially cause a near-fatal outcome for you if something goes wrong during it.” Said the doctor.

“I’m not going to lie, your chances for survival should even the tiniest of errors occur, would be fata…There would be nothing we could do to save you should an artery be compromised during the operation.”

She exhaled a heavy breath, re-adjusting herself so that she was sitting upright on the bed instead of laying down on it. She held her hands, while also looking down at them.

“And there is nothing you can do outside of this surgery?”

After she asked that, she raised her head up, staring back at him. But she could only see him shaking his head with a saddened mounted on him.

“I am sorry, Mrs. Stevenson, if there was any other…”

Suddenly pausing mid-sentence attracted her attention. Watching as he seemed to think about what he was going to say next in case it might get her hopes too high.

“What?” She asked with a light curiosity.

The doctor seemed to snap back, as when he looked at her, now, he almost seemed to have an idea.

“Actually, Mrs. Stevenson, there is one more option that you might be…optimistic about.”

Now he really had her attention.

“Well, what is it? You’ve certainly got my attention!” She said with the attitude of a giddy schoolgirl.

“Before I tell you I think it is best that I disclose how I shouldn’t really be telling about this. I could get in real trouble for just mentioning this.”

Her excitement quickly faded as a result of him saying that, instead looking up at the doc with newfound confusion.

“Then why are you mentioning this to me at all? Couldn’t you get in serious trouble with the other doctors?”

“That is one way of looking at it…”

He gestured with his hand, holding it flat.

“But I have taken pity on you, Mrs. Stevenson, and I feel like I should do everything in my power to let you enjoy a nice life with your kind husband.”

She only blinked her eyes at him, slightly touched…but also a little creeped out how much this random doc was caring about her relationship. This made her want to proceed with caution from here on out.

“Really? And how can you help me with fighting this disease if you don’t tell me what my other options for dealing with it is?”

Crossing her arms, she stared back with a suspiciously skeptical stare on her face, which only beckoned a smile from him.

“Let me know that I have consent to do what it is that I cannot disclose in order to save your life, and all your worries of these days will be nothing but a worry of the past.”

He extended out a hand to her, holding it close to her like he was expecting her to shake it.

Hanging her head down slightly she thought about her options. Wanting to make sure that everything had been taken into account before she just all of a sudden rushed into this.

After a few minutes (two) of consideration she finally came to the conclusion that for both hers and her husband’s sakes what would be the outcome if she didn’t agree to this. It would probably be worse for Eric since he might enter a depression, and possibly never find any form of happiness ever again.

With a raise of her head, looking up into the doc’s face, and then exchanging glances between his hand and face. His smile grew a little when her eyes looked back at his face a second time.

Slowly, she raised her right arm up, moving her hand closer to his outstretched one that had been silently awaiting hers to either shake his hand or not.

“I’ll do it.” She said as she shook his hand.

His smile grew, but became restrained as it turned into a smirk.

“Trust me, Mrs. Stevenson, I know that it is going to be impossible for you not to regret your decision to go through with this.”

He, all of a sudden, brought his other hand up to their still-shaking-hands, holding it tightly as he started shaking it a little more.

His odd behavior was not really doing much to decrease her reasons for labelling him as ‘’creepy’’ for being so concerning about her life.

Why was he showing so much attention to her? What made her so special that he was only giving this offer to her and not someone else…?

Seeing his smirk grow a little wider again, was the last thing she saw before suddenly starting to lose consciousness. Her eyelids suddenly became heavy, having trouble staying up.

Something was coursing throughout her body, making her skin softer, more relaxed, as she could almost faintly see things underneath her covers beginning to bloat up, almost swelling larger as two around mounds pressed up from underneath the fabric, with an even larger mound growing way beyond them.

The doc was almost giving her a small sneak-peek at the new body that she would soon be inhabiting when he was done saving her…But pretty soon she would debate whether he had truly saved her.

“Yess, that’s it, just let your physical body die…”

A creepily echoing voice was telling her as her head slowly started hanging further and further down.

‘’… I will make sure you get that other chance at life you so desperately want.”

That was the last she heard before losing all control of all her senses; touch, smell, sight, movement. All of them shut were shut down by some unknown force.

Was this death? If it was it really wasn’t all that painful, were her final thoughts before everything became dark. But on the plus-side, that could be considered a positive rather than a negative.

Then, nothing, complete darkness was all she saw from that point on.

Sometime later, the sensations of touch finally seemed to be switched back on as she immediately felt something soft, presumably grass brushing up against her skin. The numbness she had felt earlier after shaking his hand started to dissipate away as gradually more and more control over her body was given back to her, though, it was odd to her why she was waking up whilst laying on grass.

Why was she laying on grass instead of the soft mattress of a hospital bed?

“Ohhh…” She moaned while laying where she did, trying to reach a hand up to her head, but not feeling anything in her arms.

Probably due to control over her body being restored much slower than when she thought that all of her senses were in perfect order.

Damn! It seems like I still can’t move my body all that much, she thought as she grumbled internally since she now knew that she would have to probably be laying there on the grass for a small while…hoping that the whole thing would not go beyond five minutes.

*Five minutes later*

Letting out an annoyed groan at the prospect of being forced to lay there for those full five minutes, she was unaware of her face changing to actually reflect the annoyance she was experiencing right now.

Okay, now let’s try seeing if I can actually move again.

Gently, she tried lifting her right leg like she usually would have¬–

–…and surprisingly enough it actually worked! Albeit a lot slower than she was expecting.

It felt like someone had strapped bags of flour to her leg, like it had doubled exponentially in size in those five minutes that she had been laying there, alone!

She began to worry since she had never really been all that big of a woman, she was a very slim, slender woman who didn’t really eat a whole lot.

Oh god! What if the operation had taken a turn for the worst and they had been forced to put her on one of those feeding machines that hospitals used to feed people who couldn’t eat in a normal manner? She would have been huge by…however long she had been out for before she woke up!

Panic soon started to flood her mind, filling her with thoughts that her husband might leave her, now that she was a much heavier woman. What would he think of her for saying yes to such a thing without consulting him on this life-changing decision? He’d probably leave her for just that thing, alone.

As more and more control over her body kept being given back to her, she immediately opened her eyes, wanting to look out with them to physically see for herself what had happened to her.

She still couldn’t see much since control of her body returning was a slow process, apparently, and thus she didn’t see all that much of what she looked like…yet.

What she did see was a big blue sky that lingered above her, watching silently as white clouds moved across. She almost swore that she saw black dots flying through the air, but she easily dismissed it as being a trick of the eye.

As more and more control over her new form was granted she began gently moving back and forth in her plea, feeling more of her body’s soft, heavier and squishier body having trouble maneuvering while laying down.

Her mind automatically went back to when she had just barely managed to catch a glimpse of something underneath the covers of her bed beginning to grow bigger, mass being added to…something, something big.

Then, she couldn’t take it anymore… She needed to see what she looked like!

With full control over her body she began finally moving herself for the first time since this weird shit started.

She moved her legs, although they were a lot softer and wider, though she managed to stand herself up despite the difficulties.

Using her arms, she supported her torso as she stood up on all fours, using them to give herself a small enough boost that she could stand up on just two feet.

There were some balancing issues at first, mostly because of how much wider and softer her body had now become, but with care and patience even just standing up in a massive form like this can be easy.

“Whoa! Whoawhoawhoa!” She exclaimed as she held her chunky, very big and soft arms out to the side, trying to get as well balanced as she can, which isn’t too easy considering her outrageously heavy and soft body.

But as she finally gets the hang of her sense of balance, her head starts to turn, looking around in random directions as she begins to survey her surroundings more efficiently, trying to get a better grasp on where she is.

However, while looking she notices that not only is she surrounded by tall mountains on either side as she appears to be in a giant valley, a valley bigger than any she’s ever seen before, but also that there are much smaller things down on the fields, like weird green things that stand just slightly taller than the grass, and a small puddle in the center of the valley, the problem is it looks so small compared to everything else that it is unfathomably bigger.

Shaking her head and blinking her eyes in confusion she slowly turns her head to stare with a deadpanned look at the rest of her surroundings.

She tries taking a first step, only to be painfully reminded that her body is just soft mass. She lets out a sigh, and raises her heavy arms, slowly, up towards each other, crossing them as she frowns angrily at her surroundings.

For several minutes she cannot avoid staring, silent, at the nature all around her. Seeing that but being endlessly reminded that she can physically feel how larger she has now become, and the insatiable urge to see what her body looks like finally drives her to doing it.

Severing the connection between her folded arms, she lets them hang down beside her now wider body, feeling her arms brush against it.

With a deep inhale, she exhales it back out in the form of a longer and more annoyed sigh, before she is about to do that which she knows she is going to regret doing the minute it is done, but it has to be done, it cannot be avoided at this point.

“Okay…Here it goes!” She tells herself as she clenches her eyes shut.

While she is not looking, a mirror suddenly appears of nowhere, hovering in the air in front of her. In its reflection, as its eyes eventually open they see the mirrors reflection of what her body now looks like, and while originally horrified at the prospect of the mirror suddenly appearing out of thin air–…

–…though, what her now looks is even more frightening.

She immediately flinches in her spot, almost losing her balance to the point of falling back down on the ground again, but catching herself just before that can happen.

“N-no! Please god no! Please god don’t tell me that what I look like!”

She whines as she gently touches her now stubby fingers to her now round, soft face. Feeling their touch, she immediately looks down at them, her look of terrified horror growing only worse and worse.

First it was her face, which was part of quite rounded head, and atop it was the presence of hair. The hair still looked to be part of her white marshmallow skin–…

–…then the fingers, which were quite stubby–...

–…and eventually, her body, which was nothing more than a humanoid form (thank god for that), but she was nowhere near as thin as she used to be, she was actually far gone from being anything but just big and fat.

She wasn’t an idiot; she knew who it was that she looked like; Stay Puft from the 1984 Ghostbusters movie–…

–… except now she was just a bigger, female version of it…Emphasiz on the ‘’big’’. She was at least five times bigger than the one seen in the movie.

Shaking her head, she was in complete denial that this was her.

She slowly started to back away, holding her pudgy arms up as if trying to hold off the truth of the situation, and that it was just some bizarre dream or something. Anything would be better than this!

*Meanwhile in Ponyville, fifteen minutes later…*

Twilight was gently humming to herself as she was casually using her telekinesis to move seemingly random books down from the shelves of the many shelves, moving them to her hand so she could hold them while her magic immediately went to work fetching another one from another shelf.

Spike, Twilight’s baby Dragon was just casually sitting in a really comfortable chair, silently reading a comic book–…

… when all of a sudden he belched out green flames. The flames formed a scroll that Twilight’s magic instantly levitated over to her free hand.

Opening the scroll on her face, she began to read…Her smile vanishing with each second that her eyes scanned another line of what the scroll said.

Noticing that she was being unusually silent Spike looked up from his comic, staring back at the motionless Unicorn. It got him a little unnerved to see her like being as quiet as she was.

“Spike-…”

He finally heard, but just listening to her slow tone it became painfully obvious at this point that something was up.

“You go get Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity…While I go and fetch Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash.” She instructed.

Spike only blinked at her, staring back with mounted confusion at the sight of her running towards the door, only to teleport away before hitting the wood of it.

With a groan he rose up from the chair and started making his way for the door. He turned the knob with his claw and pulled it open, heading outside in direction of Rarity’s boutique.

“This better be good…I was in the middle of a great chapter where the Mane-iac is about to be busted.” He grumbled to himself as he hauled himself along the dirt road.

Author's Note

I don't know how exactly, but for some reason i wanted to displace a woman in Equestria as a female Stay Puft...Don't ask me why, i've guess i've just always wanted to see that.
