//-------------------------------------------------------// Fly With Me -by Green Plant Icon- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Stay Tonight //-------------------------------------------------------// Stay Tonight We flew in silence. Sky said he was fine, but I could see clear through his words. Stuck with my thoughts, I tried to think of other things than the pony beside me. But I couldn't. My heart controls the mind, and my heart is always his. Regardless of who he loves, or how close or far we are, I'll always be his. That's what makes it hurt the most. Painful, just to say his name, and thoughts become the rebellion, starting a war between my heart and my head. We were closer than family since we were kids. I lied to him since we were kids. My vision grew blurry with tears, and cleared again a few moments. Clouds zipped by me upwards, and I felt wind push up on my back. Funny how it didn't hurt as much as the thoughts of him. Stopping myself from screaming, I stayed silent. Who would miss me when I'm gone? Who would actually care to save me? If nopony cared to save me, why should I save myself? What's the difference I'd make? Would it be better than a life of chasing after Sky? Everything slowed to a stop, as hooves wrapped around me, and wings bested beside me. Sky Stinger. My love, my heart's captor. My hero. He saved me. "Vapor, what happened? Are you okay?!" his question, and urgent voice, went out through the other ear when I looked into his eyes. The endless sea that shines bright. Teal-colored eyes. Beautiful eyes. My hoof touched his cheek, and I didn't realize what was happening until his firm, warm lips met mine. While we kissed, his arms were around me, and mine around his. Our wings beat at the same pace. Up, down, up. As we kissed beneath the morning's sun setting in the west. He whispered something memorable in my ear as we pulled away, and my heart just about gave up at those soft-spoken words. Sparks flew, and our hearts connected like never before. Every beat in sync with the other. It felt like nothing before. The memories I held precious, the memories with Sky, flashed before my eyes. I fell for him all over again. Our lips met again, and I finally realized that my fears were only false expectations. He loves me, I've given him my heart and he gave me his back instead of mine. This love is true, and we were meant to be together. It started with a whisper, our relationship, and will end with a whisper when death will us part. After death, however, we will come together again. Reunited, in love. Our bodies may be dead, but our souls will live on forever. This kiss was shorter than the last, as we pulled apart. His eyes met mine. Teal met blue, and fell in love. Everything was dark now, the sun had set, and the sky was black. Stars peppered the sky, and the moon shined down on us. Sky Stinger's eyes reflected the moonlight and love. The years of our friendship turned to love. We stayed above the clouds, and beneath the moonlight. Talking and laughing. Our love will forever last. And we will forever be together, our hearts synced to the beat, and our souls intertwined permanently. "I should get home, first day of training is in the morning." I whispered. The idea of leaving him sounded cold, lonely, and unpleasant, but we both had to get some rest for training for Wonderbolt Academy in the morning, and it was well past midnight. Sky Stinger flew me home. His silhouette next to mine, as we made our way to my house of clouds. I felt like a queen just flying next to him. A queen, because I know he loved from the words he whispered into my ear. Landing on the doorstep, I turned backed towards the door, hoof on the doorknob. "Guess this is goodbye for now." he blushed profusely. "It wouldn't be if you want to stay." "Vapor, what will ponies-" I cut him off with my lips. Pulling him closer, I deepened the kiss. It was not like me to do it, but I was caught in the moment. Besides, he's someone who I'm not shy with. When I'm with him I feel I can always be myself and not worry about my mistakes and flaws. With me, he shows his soft side, taking down the mask that covers him with another pony. A pony with a large ego, a narcissistic jerk, that makes ponies wonder why I put up with him. I put up with him, because I know who he is. Lost, and alone. Grew up no different from his siblings to his parents, who didn't care for him, and were never there for him. He grew up thinking that emotions shouldn't show. Never learning true friendship, he built walls to guard him. And when I found him, I helped him fly, only because I wanted a friend. Because I didn't know exactly what he was feeling, but I knew what it was like to feel alone, to have so many ponies around you, that there is nopony there for you. However, I was there. I'm still here, and I always will be here. Sky pulled away from the kiss, as we both panted, gasping for air. He bent over slightly, and I was stuck on the door. Pressing against it, as if he was still in front of me, pushing me into the soft, firm, cloud. "I love you too." I had breathed out. "What?" Sky looked up. "I love you too." louder, I had said. Finally looking at him. "I should go. See you tomorrow." with a quick kiss, he flew home. I remember laying in bed, that night. Trying to sleep, but too excited for tomorrow. He was my king, I was his queen. Our relationship, like many others, will have it's high points and low points, and the low points will be hard. We will get through. The love between us will last forever. With him, dying doesn't seem so bad, not if we go together, only when one half of a heart is left behind is it sad. There's only one-hundred years at most to live, when you're only a mortal. But with Sky Stinger, one-hundred years would be more than anything I could want. "...your dad and I will be together forever, even when we're gone. And when we're gone, we will be with you. Someday you will find your true love, and you'll be together! Happily ever after." "Kissing a colt?! Ewww!" whined Sky Trail. Sky Stinger let out a loud laugh, as he came from the kitchen, "It won't be as gross when you're older. You'll be all over some stallion years from now. Just you wait." he kissed his wife, Vapor Trail. "Eww!" screeched Sky Trail. "Gross you guys! Kissing a stallion, ack!" a turquoise mare, with a blue mane said, walking in from the kitchen. "Yet you bring a new stallion home every weekend!" laughed Vapor, "Face it, Swift Sky, you are boy crazy!" "See 'sis? Even she agrees with me!" said Sky Stinger. Vapor Sting laughed and giggled from the floor by her Sky Trail, her sister. Swift Sky folded her arms, and blushed. She rolled her amber eyes, and mumbled a 'whatever' under her breath. Sky and Vapor laughed along as the family shared a hug. There they were, all one big happy family. Sky Stinger, and Vapor Trail married, and with two kids of their own. Sky Stinger's sister living with them, and together. Both Sky and Vapor will never be alone, and they will never let their kids feel the same. The couple still remembered the words Sky Stinger had whispered. Of course you'd love me. I'm everypony's favorite ya know. It seemed self-centered when you don't know him, but it means something other to the pair. Author's Note Fear = False Expectations Appearing Real This is my first fluff/one shot, I hope you enjoyed it, and please give some feedback, it'd be really helpful! I might do a sequel, but I don't see it too soon, because I have other things I'm working on, but I'll touch up on writing on this every once in a while!
