It was packed down at the market, as Sweetie Belle and I walked around to get snacks for the horror-a-thon tonight at seven, including candy for tomorrows Nightmare Night. Speaking of, Sweetie hasn't got an idea of what to dress up for Nightmare Night. I plan on being a vampire.
"Say sister," said Sweetie, as I levitated a bag of candy corn into the cart, "can I get one of those masks from the commercials? They look perfect to wear on Nightmare Night. Please?"
"Of course, Sweetie," I replied, "besides, we haven't decided on what you should dress up as for Nightmare Night."
Sweetie Belle gives me a hug before running ahead of me and disappearing to her left, possibly to the next isle.
"Sweetie! What in Celestia's name are you running off to?!" I called out before running up to where she disappeared to, leaving the cart behind.
As I looked into the next isle, there were many fillies and colts grabbing a mask one by one. The masks where by a company named shamrock, which sounds new and they must be some type of Nightmare Night company targeting young fillies and colts to buy their masks. The masks themselves aren't that frightening, but the young ones sure do seem to like them.
I look through the crowd and spotted Sweetie Belle looking down at a pumpkin mask that catches her interest.
"Sweetie?!" I called out, getting her attention, "don't run off like that! You almost scared me!"
"Sorry sis," said Sweetie, as she levitates the mask above her as she walks her way towards me.
"I see you found a mask. Would you like that?"
"I love it!" said Sweetie with glee, "I bet Scootaloo and Applebloom got something else."
"I bet they did, darling. Now come, let's go back to the cart and towards the bakery isle. I plan on making us a pumpkin cake."
"Oh goodie," said Sweetie Belle with a jump of joy.
I smile down at her as we walked back to where I left the cart.
It's now 5 PM and the cake is almost done before Sweetie Belle's friends could arrive. Right now, I'm sitting in the living room taking a break while watching The Thing. Quite a grotesque film about some ponies in the winter close to the crystal empire and are stuck in this place while there's an alien creature that can disguise as anything and everypony. Right now they are testing their blood to figure out who's normal and who's not.
"Sweetie, can we watch something that isn't... scary?" I asked.
"No way, sis. The month of Nightmare Night means that we should watch something scary. You're gonna have to deal with it until this month is over."
"I guess you're right. Just tonight and tomorrow and that'll be the end to it."
There was a loud "ding" coming from the kitchen, which means that the cake is now done. I get off the couch and walked over to the kitchen, smelling the sweet aroma of freshly baked cake. I open the oven, making the aroma stronger as it whiffs my nose. I levitated the tray out and place it on the counter.
"Sweetie," I called out, "come be a good little sister and help me put frosting on here."
"Sure thing, sis," called out Sweetie Belle, as I can hear her hooves rushing towards the kitchen.
As she stops beside me, I levitate the orange frosting to her, as she grabs it with her hooves.
"Around the edge of the cake before making the face," I said, as Sweetie squeezes gently, as the frosting goops out slowly.
Suddenly, the doorbell rings, making me leave Sweetie Belle by herself to do the frosting. As I make it to the door, I look through the peephole to make sure they were Scootaloo and Applebloom, but no. Instead, there was no one there; not a filly in sight. I opened the door and looked around, but still no sight of any fillies.
"H-hello? Is there anypony out there?" I called out.
Suddenly, two figures from my left and right jumped in front of me, making me scream. I closed my eyes, but opened them as I heard two laughs. I open my eyes and was angry to see the two pranksters: Scootaloo and Applebloom, wearing skeleton masks.
"My goodness," I said with a snort, "you two almost gave me a heart attack."
"Sorry Rarity," said Scootaloo, "we just wanted to scare you because it's almost Nightmare Night."
"I'll forgive you two, now come on in. Sweetie Belle needs your help with the cake."
"Cake?!" said the two fillies, as they rushed past me and towards the kitchen.
I close the door and let out a sigh.
"I'm gonna go take a bath," I said, as I make my way to the stairs.
As I walk downstairs, the kids sat down in front of the TV as it played music, along with showings of skeletons and pumpkins.

It was a rather bizarre jingle; it sounds like fillies and colts under hypnosis singing the jingle.
"It's almost time, fillies and colts," said the narrator in a creepily calming voice, "time to put your masks on. You'll need them when the horror-a-thon begins.
I watch as the trio place the masks upon their heads. It was so cute, the way they sit close together is adorable. Reminds me of when I was a filly when I had friends over. Suddenly, I notice that behind the masks that the girls wore had a glowing circle with the shamrock logo.
"I never knew they could do that," I thought to myself.
Suddenly, Sweetie Belle began to bob her head back and forth slowly, then Scootaloo, then Applebloom.
"You girls alright?" I asked.
They responded by giving out groans and then somehow exhausted moans. The three fell to the floor and placed their hooves over their heads. I walk up to the three fillies very worriedly and bring up Sweetie Belle.
"Sweetie Belle! What's wrong?!" I screamed in terror.
Suddenly, her body went cold and she fell limp, along with Scootaloo and Applebloom. I dropped Sweetie Belle out of shock; I am scared. I don't know why this is happening. Is it because I angered Faust? Is it the masks? No, it can't be because of the masks, that's silly. Suddenly, the heads of the three fillies began to melt, as though their heads were made of ice cream. They began to rot and somehow maggots came crawling out and some snakes along with them. I ran backwards until my back was against the wall. My heart is beating and I'm dripping with sweat.
"What... what in Celestia's name... is this?" I asked myself, as the snakes slithered towards me hissing.
I was too terrified to move, but I pushed with all my might and made a leap over the snakes and towards the door. I opened it and immediately shut it behind me. I breathed heavily, but I then stopped after hearing multiple screams from around Ponyville.
"Sweet Celestia!" shouted a mare from afar, "help!"
"My baby is dead!!" shouted another.
"What's going on?!" said a male voice.
I don't know, but it must be the masks. It has to be. I grit my teeth and stomped a hoof.
"Shamrock!" I shouted to the sky, "you will pay!!!"
