Portal issues for Spike....or so he thinks.
Twilight and Spike's return.
Previous ChapterSunset Shimmer, the rest of the girls, and their new friend Sonata Dusk, who had been reformed after the events of The Battle of The Bands, were all outside the monument where Twilight and Spike would normally come through. They were waiting for the return of Twilight, and a certain dog. Only, he wouldn't be a dog, he would be a baby dragon.
"It's gonna be so amazing being able to meet Twilight Sparkle and Spike, o-on friendly terms that is." Sonata said with excitement, and a bit of concern.
"There's nothing to worry about, Sonata. Twilight's just probably gonna wonder why you are with us. And, I'll explain that you are reformed. Trust me, I went through a VERY similar process, almost identical as what you are going through right now." Sunset explained.
"Enough with the explanations. When is Twilight gonna get here?" Rainbow Dash asked, rather impatiently.
"Now, now Rainbow. She'll get here. We just gotta be patient, sugarcube. Just be patient, and she'll be 'ere." Applejack said.
"She never really got to see much of this place, All she really saw was the school, that carnival, Pinkie's house, and the Sweet Shoppe. We've really gotta show her around this place." Rarity said.
"She's right, after all. I really want to show her the animal shelter, most of all.' Fluttershy said, with the cutest squee you could ever get.
"There's one thing that's missing. Oh, I know. A SUPER AWESOME WELCOME BACK PARTY!!!!!!" Pinkie yelled out.
"Calm down, Pinkie. We'll have a party, I can say that with confidence." Sunset said.
"How are we gonna have the party, without Twilight?" Rainbow asked
Just as she said that, Twilight and Spike came through the portal.
"TWILIGHT!!!" The girls all yelled with cheer and excitement.
"I'm back, ready to have fun, and not having to worry about any world-destroying threats!" Twilight said in excitement.
The girls all cheered with excitement and ran over to Twilight, giving her a group hug. Sonata stayed back, she was a bit nervous. The last time she saw her was at the Battle of The Bands.
After they all released the hug, they heard Spike screaming about something.
"Spike! What is it?" Twilight asked, and she immediately found her answer.
"I-I-I'm no longer a dog here." Spike said in shock.
"WHAT?!!!" The girls all yelled in shock.
"Girls, do you remember me talking about how where I originally came from, I was a fire breathing dragon? Well, this is what I look like behind that portal. I guess, you can say goodbye to Spike the Dog, and say hello to Spike the Dragon."
Then, Spike felt a couple warm tears run down his cheek, and immediately ran over to Twilight.
"Spike, what's wrong? There's nothing to worry about." Twilight said.
"I-I feel like a freak, now! I felt like I was better off as a dog here. I feel like....like....like. EVERYBODY'S GONNA CALL ME A FREAK AND IGNORE ME!!!" Spike yelled out. He couldn't hold his emotions back anymore, and he started crying.
"Spike, we're not gonna call you freaks, or shun you." Sunset said.
"If anything, we think you are an awesome dragon." Rainbow said.
Fluttershy, was getting awfully close to Spike, and she picked him up, and brought him over to the other girls.
"Honestly, Spike, I think you're even cuter as a baby dragon." Fluttershy said
"Aw, shucks." Spike said, with the tears gone.
"Fluttershy has a point. I also think that you're even cuter than you when you were a dog. You are so adorable as a dragon, my little Spikey-Wikey." Rarity said cheerfully.
The girls all hugged Spike, they could all agree that they like Spike as a dragon more than when he was a dog. Spike looked at Twilight, who gave him a wink and a thumbs up.
"See, Spike? I told you it wouldn't be so bad." Twilight said.
"Picking at my pride now, aren't you." Spike asked
"Nah, I'm just messing with you. That's what best friends do, right?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Spike replied.
"Come on, Sonata. Let's go introduce you to Twilight, on friendly terms." Sunset said.
"Um, o-o-o-okay." Sonata replied.
