//-------------------------------------------------------// Like Mother, Like Dasher -by Newspress- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 Rainbow Dash woke up from a very deep slumber. She yawned and stretched so hard her hooves almost came off. "G'mornin, Pinkie," she said drowsily. But Pinkie Pie was still fast asleep. So much for that, Rainbow thought to herself and began to pack up. CRASH! A rock shot through the window, landing on Pinkie Pie's head and waking her up suddenly. "Ouch! Why'd you do that?!" she asked Dash. "I didn't throw that rock, it came fro-" She was cut off as a familiar gryphon strolled in. "Were you gonna say Gilda?" she asked. It was Gilda, one of Dash's ex-friends from flight camp. "It was you! B-but why did you throw a rock through my window?" Pinkie asked. "To get your attention, you nitwit. I heard lil' Dashie here is going bye-bye," Gilda said as she slammed Dash's suitcase shut. As she pushed her out Pinkie's door, Gilda added "Have a nice TRIP!" and shoved Rainbow down the stairs and headfirst into the soft rug. "Leaving so soon?" asked Pinkie Pie as she rushed down the staircase and lifted Rainbow back up again. "N-no, I need to finish packing. Did you get Gilda out?" "Yeah. I lured her with a cupcake. Extra sprinkles, too!" Rainbow Dash then packed the rest of her things and flew out the door. She pulled out her Equestria Map and read 'Los Pegasus'. The closest house was Twilight's castle, where the rest of their friends (and Starlight Glimmer) would be staying.                                                                                                    ~~***~~ "Oh, Rainbow, you're seeing your mother again?" asked Rarity over a cup of punch. "Of course I am, why else would I go to Los Pegasus?" "To go to Applewood, of course!" Applejack said. "I reckon I have one or two relatives there. Never been there myself, heard it's a nice place." "But perhaps she's not there," Twilight pondered aloud. "Either that, or she's on vacation!" Dash slammed her hoof down on the crystalline table, causing the Cutie Map to activate. All the girls' cutie marks appeared on the map, located in Ponyville. Suddenly, all the marks started to glow and pulsate, both on the ponies and the map. They moved over to Los Pegasus, where a seventh cutie mark appeared. This one was of two blue lightning bolts. Rainbow Dash's mother. Firefly. "She IS there!" Rainbow exclaimed, spilling her punch on the floor. "Whoops, my bad," she said as she ran over to clean up the spill. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 "You won't forget me?" "I'll never forget you, Dash. I'll always remember you and you will remember me." "You sure?" "I'm sure." The mare smiled and touched the little filly's cheek. "Now be a good little pegasus, Rainbow Dash. You'll be safe with Dad." Rainbow looked around. Sure enough, her dad was smiling back. "Bye, Momma! Have a great time in Los Pegasus!" Dash's mom then flew up, away, and out of sight. The way the sun tinted her wings made her look like a pheonix. "Come on, Dashie. Let's practice some flight tricks!" Her dad flew and did a barrel roll. "Now you try!" Rainbow flew up, her little filly wings fluttering furiously. She then swooped down, catching up speed, then flew back up and spun around a cloud. "See, Dad? I can fly super well!" She then continued to bounce on a cloud while her dad tried doing the trick (which Rainbow Dash named 'The Eagle Swoop') over and over, but failing each time. "It's getting dark out. Come on Dashie, let's fly back to the hou-" He was interupted by a sudden WHOOSH of wind, and by the time he got there, Rainbow Dash was fast asleep. "Good night, my little flyer," the purple stallion whispered in Dash's ear as he softly fell asleep as well. Then the only sound was  the soft night breeze passing through the open window on the moon lit night.
