It had been a year and a half since Adonis had been transported to Equestria, by means that still remain unknown. Adonis is a human if you couldn't tell, he’s five foot eleven inches tall, has long brown hair and tangelo orange irises. His pupils are dark blue, so dark that at a glance they appear black. His skin is pale and fair, as well as very baby-like. Since his arrival, he has attracted quite a bit of attention. The attention wasn’t completely due to him being a different species. In fact, most of the attention he gets was started by the news of him bringing about an era of peace between the Changelings and the Ponies. He lives in Canterlot Castle with the Royal Alicorn Sisters and is very close to both of them. But enough of the background information, you’re probably wondering where this story is going, so without further ado.
Adonis sat at a large round table in the dining hall in Canterlot castle, across from him sat the King of the Griffon Kingdom. He was old, his brown feathers starting to turn gray. He was almost as tall as Adonis and had piercing orange eyes. Next to him sat his favorite Changeling, Chrysalis. She’s jet black, with green running around and along her abdomen. Her long sleek legs had small holes towards the bottom. Her mane and tail were dark cyan, they also had holes in them. Her eyes were green with reptilian slits in them, and she had a pair of insectoid wings resting on her back. She had a happy smile plastered on her muzzle as she elegantly nibbled at her salad. Sitting at Adonis’ sides were the Royal Sisters, they too had happy smiles placed on their muzzles. Celestia who sat at his right was slightly taller than him. Her fur was pure white. Celestia’s mane and tail were rainbow colored and seemed to flow in a nonexistent breeze. To his left sat the younger sister, Luna. Her coat was midnight blue, her mane and tail were similar to her sisters, but instead of being rainbow colored, they were colored like the night sky. She was also slightly smaller than Adonis. Today was the anniversary of the peace treaties signed between the three great nations.
“How are you today Chrysalis,” asked Adonis with an eager tone.
“I am very tired at this moment, but every day is amazing with you around,” replied Chrysalis is a slightly sly smile.
Adonis blushed slightly at her compliment “you are most kind, the day is looking a lot more enjoyable with you here.”
Chrysalis smiled happily at her close friend and nodded in acknowledgment “naturally.”
“How is the Hive doing Chrysalis,” asked Celestia taking a sip of her tea.
“Managing it has become much easier thanks to the help of the Ponies of Equestria,” she replied with a proud smile.
“It’s honestly hard to believe that you’re the same mare that tried to ruin my wedding,” said Cadence as she entered the dining room.
“I find it hard to believe myself, but my subjects were starving and I had to do something,” said Chrysalis looking at the table her mood suddenly turning dull.
“No hard feelings, in the end, you were stopped and have been trying your best to make amends,” said Cadence as she sat down across from Chrysalis.
Chrysalis’ mood brightened slightly as she accepted Cadence’s response “thank you Cadence.”
"How has Shining Armor been doing," asked Celestia.
Cadence groaned and exhaled loudly.
"That bad," asked Chrysalis with a shocked tone.
"You have no idea," replied Cadence.
"Tell me what's been going on," said Chrysalis warmly.
"He seem's to be so distant, so reserved. Every time I try to get closer to him, he pushes me away. It's so frustrating," said Cadence with an aggravated tone.
"You need to remind him of why he fell in love with you," said Chrysalis.
"How," asked Cadence sounding like she was falling apart.
Chrysalis leaned over and whispered something in Cadence's ear. Whatever she said must have been very 'raunchy' because Cadence's face lit up like a tomato.
"I-I can't do that," stuttered Cadence.
"It's your marriage, not mine. Besides, I want a niece or nephew I can spoil," said Chrysalis slyly.
"And I want to be a great aunt," replied Celestia on the verge of bursting into a fit of laughter.
The griffon next to Chrysalis excused himself from the table, Chrysalis soon followed. Now it was only Cadence, Celestia, Luna, and Adonis sitting at the table. Cadence had managed to calm herself down a tad bit, though her cheeks still flushed bright red.
"Could I ask a favor of you three," asked Adonis suddenly.
The three mares looked towards their friend and smiled warmly "anything."
Adonis let out a calming breath, he was trying to get his words together.
"By now I assume you all know about my feelings for Chrysalis," said Adonis, pausing for a moment to allow his friends to answer.
"Yes, we have," replied Luna.
Celestia merely nodded and smiled.
"Of course I've noticed, I am the Princess of Love after all. Though I let the topic be out of respect for you and your private business," said Cadence.
"Could I by any chance ask you to help me with my feelings," asked Adonis almost pleadingly.
"How do you mean Adonis," asked Luna curiously.
"Could you help me to confess to her," asked Adonis.
"Of course," the three of them said in unison.
"Really," asked Adonis, he almost didn't believe his ears.
"Of course Adonis, you are our friend and we'd be more than happy to help you," said Celestia warmly.
"I'll be your 'wing-mare,'" said Cadence puffing out her chest proudly.
"Wing-mare," asked Adonis curiously.
"A wing-mare is a friend who sits on the sidelines and gives tips and pointers to a stallion," replied Cadence.
"I'd like that, thank you," said Adonis whole-heartedly.
"Together, the four of us will make sure that your feelings shall be communicated without a flaw," said Luna standing up on the table.
"Thank you, Luna," said Adonis "thank you all."
"You are most welcome Adonis," replied Celestia.
"We should be heading to bed, you have a big day tomorrow," said Cadence giving Adonis a devious grin.
"Ok...," said Adonis worriedly.
"Sweet dreams dear friend," said Luna as Adonis left the dining hall.
"You too Luna," said Adonis waving to his friends.
Thirty minutes had passed and Adonis was in his room laying on his bed.
"I have such great friends," said Adonis chuckling softly.
Adonis wrapped his blanket around him and drifted off to sleep.
