They say War never changes...if only that were true.

Equestria. A peaceful, harmonic civilization. Or...at least that is what they once were...

The return of the Crystal Empire did not only bring Sombra back with it, it also brought war over all of Equestria. And with the war, a rapid modernization began on both sides. Both, Sombra and Equestria, tried inventing deadlier and more destructive weapons to gain the edge over their foe.

They gained nothing.

This is the story of Private Blankflank, a simple soldier who is caught fighting a war that makes no sense.
They gain nothing. They lose everything. Their friends, their comrades, their sanity...their lives.

This story takes place in the Sombra Alternate Universe of the Season 5 finale. It follows the war between both sombra and Equestria.

The War in this story is (quite obviously) a reference to World War 1 and it's horrors of war.
