Cry and Company meet Equestria
The room was disheveled. As always. Not messy, mind you, just disheveled. The twenty-something living here wasn't disorganized, nor messy. Quite the opposite. He just... Hadn't got around to fixing up this room. The last month had been kinda hectic. Setting up a Minecraft server, throwing a party for his brother, and those livestreams... Today was Sunday, and he had stayed up until about five or so playing video games and shit like that. Right now, though, the dirty-blonde male is sleeping on his couch. It's about noon. His alarm is set for 12:05. Let's enter his mind, shall we?
"Fuck. It's too goddamn dark, Pewdie. There's no way I'll be able to see the puzzle." I say, shaking my head at the Swede. We were playing Portal 2, but for some reason all of the lights in the testing chamber went out. Goddamn creators.
"Stop your whining, din jävla fitta. Turn up your gamma if it bothers you so much." my Swedish pal says. He chuckles at something only he knows and continues with the puzzle.
"Hey, man, fuck you. I can speak Swedish, you know. And I'm not the one who got scared by the damn cat in The Calling. Calling me a-" Suddenly a loud beeping noise is heard and Pewdie disappears. I start freaking out, before a loud guitar is heard. And then singing.
"A company... Always on the run..."
Cry wakes up with a gasp. He looks around his room, and then sighs with relief. He turns off the radio alarm clock. "Goddamn livestreams are gonna fucking kill us." he says. He then gets up, rubs his blue eyes, and looks at the TV, currently on the Weather Channel. Another strangely cold day. 59 degrees outside. St. Petersburg freezing? Hell's already there. Cry sighs, and goes to the shower. He washes his hair and gets dressed in a black t-shirt, boots, and jeans. Not going out, so why dress for cold? He gets a bowl of cereal and eats it, drinking the rest of a bottle of Vanilla Coke. He goes to the hallway, picking up his trademark blank-face mask and walks past the glowing door that leads to his guest bedroo-
"Wait... Glowing door?" he says to himself. He looks at it. Defiantly glowing, as if it's taunting him. He puts on his mask. He opens the door, and walks through.
Cold. He enters cold. He looks around, hugging himself for warmth. A small town, in the middle of winter. A vibrant town with a lot of street lamps. "Am I in... Amish country?" he thinks to himself. He walks down the street, noting how every building uses vibrant pastels for color. And wide outlines. He looks at his hand. A wide outline surrounds it. "I look like a cartoon character..." he says out loud. He keeps walking, until finally he exits the town. The moon is surprisingly bright, so he can see the path just fine. He follows it until he comes across a frozen lake. He sits on the edge of it, making sure not to sit in the snow. He notices a figure moving across the ice, possibly ice-skating. It starts moving towards him. "Oh, finally, someone to talk to." he thinks. He blinks, and when he opens his eyes, a pair of blue eyes is staring into his. He screams in panic, and the owner of the eyes does too. They finally stop screaming. Cry scrabbles away from the owner of the eyes, and realizes it's not human. It's... A horse? A pink horse, with an equally pink mane that looked like cotton candy. He raises one eyebrow in confusion, and the pony does too. He waves one arm, the pony waves a foreleg. He chuckles. "The old Mirror routine, huh?"
"Glad to see somepony else knows that routine!" the pony says with a giggle. Cry jumps up in shock.
"You can talk?" Cry says. He was really thinking, "Holy shit!". He looks at every inch of the pony's body, and notices three balloons on her flank.
The pony notices him looking at every part of her, and spins around to face him. "Hey, buy me dinner before you start staring at my plot, handsome. What's your name, anyway?" she asks, not even taking a breath between sentences.
Cry stutters out an apology, and then says, "My name's Ryan, but all of my friends call me Cry." He sighs. He looks at the moon with wonder.
The pony smiles. "Well, I'm going to surely be your friend, so I'll call you Cry. I'm Pinkie Pie." she says, extending a hoof out in a friendly manner. Cry looks at her, and shakes her hoof.
He smiles briefly, then becomes serious again. "Well, Mrs. Pie" he tries to say, before getting interrupted with a quick, "It's Miss."
"Okay, then. Miss Pie, do you know what time it is?"
"Of course I do! It's 3 a.m. Ponyville Standard Time on January 12th, a Wednesday." Pinkie says.
Cry looks at her with confusion. "You were ice-skating at three in the morning on a Wednesday? Do you not have to get up in the morning to go to a job?"
"Oh, I have a job! I just didn't sleep well. Had a nightmare about... Never mind, you'd laugh." Pinkie says, starting to look at the ground in anguish.
"No I won't! Trust me!" Cry says, crouching down and putting his arm around the pony's neck to hug her. No matter what anybody else said about him, he always could make people (and ponies, apparently) feel better.
Pinkie looked up. "I had a nightmare about a pony who looked like me attacking a cake with a rock." she said with a frown.
"A rock? Hm." Cry replied, thinking. "Just try and focus on something else. The ice-skating seemed to help. Now then, where do you live?"
Pinkie smiled. He really did want to make her feel better. "Sugarcube Corner. I can take you there if you want. If you don't mind me saying, you're the weirdest pony I've ever seen." she says with a slight chuckle. Cry chuckled in reply.
"Well, I'm not a pony. I'm not even from this world. I just walked through one of the doors in my house and here I am. I entered through a house..." he has to think about where it was. "Next to a large tree with a door in it. The house I entered from was a pale yellow."
"Well, that house has been abandoned for years. Nopony's ever went in it. So maybe it's an inter-dimensional vortex!" Pinkie replies. Cry was interested in this sudden increase in vocabulary.
"So, you said we were... where, exactly?" Cry asks, removing his arm from around the pink pony.
"Ponyville, in the grand nation of Equestria on the planet Earth." she said with a flourish. She then giggles.
"Are there any other towns I should be aware of?" Cry asks, even though he knows he'll get another extremely long response. He thinks to himself, "She is so freakin' adorable. Of course, her conversations are long as hell, but I can get over that."
"Well, there's Canterlot, our capital and home of the princesses, Fillydelphia, Las Pegasus, Manehattan, and... Son of a bitch... I know the name, but..." Cry was slightly shocked at the brief cursing. Pinkie thought for a second, then looked up. "Cloudsdale. That's where all the pegasi live." she says with a smile
"Wait, pegasi? As in, horses with wings? Are there unicorns here too?" Cry asks.
"Actually, yes." Pinkie replies.
"Well, shit. That makes this place even awesomer. You said something about princesses right?" Cry asks, getting up. He motions for her to walk with him, and she does.
"Yes. But we're not a monarchy, we don't have a queen. Odd, isn't it? No king or queen, just two princesses. Anyway, we're an egalitarian society. The princesses aren't the government, they just control the sun and moon." Pinkie said as they walked. Cry nodded at the response, and they finally arrived at Sugarcube Corner.
"Jeez, this place is big. And it's got so many baked goods, I couldn't see how anyone could buy them all." Cry says, opening the door for Pinkie.
"Thanks, Cry. Anyway, we usually end up sold out during early fall and spring, but we try to stockpile them during winter. During summer, so many orders for pies end up being made we have to ask the ponies at Sweet Apple Acres for tons of apples. Good thing that one of my best friends and her family own the place, or we'd be out of money." Pinkie said without pausing once, which startled Cry.
"Do you have any spare beds?" Cry asked, taking off his boots.
"Yeah, but if you wanted to you could sleep with me!" Pinkie replied. Cry chuckled.
"Where I'm from, that's not an offer I'd take. But here... This place is so innocent, I can't see any harm in doing so. Alright, lead the way, Miss Pie." Cry said. Pinkie walked to her room, and he followed.
Meanwhile, a blonde, lanky man stumbles through a door. He lands face first in the snow. "What the hell, Marzi- oh my god." He looks around. "Where in the fuck am I?" he asks himself.
