Chapter 1,2(Remake)+3: The Lord of All
”What... What happened? Where am I?”, a man in his mid twenties questioned mentally as he groggyly opened his eyes, his eyesight immediately met with pure darkness. He noticed he was lying on a plain white bed in a middle, or somewhere else, of a void.
”Welcome, Nicholas Ford Blaze.”, Nicholas heard feminine voice speaking up somewhere behind him. Quickly getting up and turning around, he saw a pale woman with long, raven black hair dressed in black clothing. She wore a tight t-shirt with two skulls in front and bat wings extending from her breasts. Her upper chest were bare and Nicholas noticed she wore a spiked collar with ruby red medallion. The belt of her ankle-long skirt was also adorned with skulls and her skirt had a slit on her left side, showing off her slender leg with black boot extending to her tight. She was also wearing a black tiara. However, the woman’s outstanding beauty wasn’t the thing that attracted Nichola’s attention.
First, woman had a pair of pure black feathered wings on her back.
Then, she had a sandhour with red sand, or was it blood, in her right hand and a huge scythe in her left hand.
Finally, her eyes were pure white color. Not just her irises, but her pupils also. They were two voids of whiteness.
Nicholas got off the bed and slowly walked towards the strange woman who had a slight smile on her face. He stopped when he was a meter away from her.
“Who are you?”, he questioned. The woman’s smile grew.
”I’m the one you mortals call Death. The ending of all things. The Inevitable One. But you may call me Rachel.”, she introduced herself. Nicholas blinked few times before looking around the black void they were in.
“Death? I’m dead?”, he asked after finally looking at Rachel. She nodded.
”Yes, Nicholas. Don’t you remember getting beaten to me by your school bullies?”, she asked him. Nicholas widen his eyes as he remembered. He remember David, the leader of the infamous gang on his university, ambushing him while he was walking home. David and his friends cornered him and started beating the life out of him. They usually picked on Nicholas since he was usually pacifistic in nature, always passed all his tests and was quite popular among the students. He didn’t think David would go so far as to actually kill him.
“So... What now? Do I go to some kind of afterlife?”, due to his studies as a quantum physicist, Nicholas’s studies strongly denied the existence of God or afterlife, so Nicholas was fairly confused on what should happen now.
Rachel looked him directly in the eyes before answering.
”Under normal circumstances, you would. But now, no, you are not going anywhere.”, she responded, catching Nicholas off guard.
“What do you mean?”
”Nicholas, your soul is the most unique type I have ever seen in my whole existence. I actually don’t remember ever seeing a soul such as yours. You have completely balanced good and bad deeds in your life, for every good deed, there’s a bad deed. If there was only one more good deed, you would go to Heaven. If there was only one more bad deed, you would go to Hell. Right now, you are in perfect middle between both. You have truly surprised me with that, Nicholas. For the first time in my inapplicable existence, I felt truly surprised. So, instead of sending you to afterlife, I decided to resurrect you, but not as a human. I am giving you a choice to become a god and a guardian of time of the Multiverse-F74HFR. Think of that as a reward for the impossible balance you’ve had.”, she explained. Nicholas listened her, completely frozen. Firstly, he never thought he was special enough for his teacher to properly explain him his lesson and now Rachel tells him he is the most special being in the whole existence, from the beginning of time ‘till now.
Next, resurrected as a god and guardian of time sounded a bit like some lame fanfiction he read once. The author was a guy with the username “Black Jack”. His imagination knew no limits, but his writing skills, well, not so.
Still, Nicholas pondered about Rachel’s words.
“Will that, turning, come at some price?”, Nicholas carefully asked her and Rachel shook her head.
”No, this offering is out of good will, you don't have to accept and then I will send you to Heaven.”, she responded.
Nicholas, as every human being, dreamed of having power of a transcendental being. Not out of greed, but rather a childlike curiousity. How would it feel like? How would he see the world through the eyes of an immortal? Questions like this would constantly dance within his head, so naturally, he knew what to do when being offered a chance to be a god.
Nicholas raised his head and looked at smiling Rachel.
“Okay then, let's do it.”, he finally announced. Rachel smiled even wider and snapped her fingers.
At first, he felt nothing, but then he felt a burning sensation within him until...
World: Equuis-748
Land: Equestria, Forest north-west of the Galloping Gorge and north-east of Vanhoover
Time: 22:36
The forest are usually quiet places, especially during Princess Luna’s beautiful night, however, that was not the case now.
Cold wind started blowing in the middle of the forest, rocks and pieces of wood started levitating and animals became greatly disturbed. Suddely, atoms hurled towards each other, slowly creating a naked blue man.
The man slowly landed, wind stopped blowing and rocks and wood fell down.
Nicholas looked at his body in complete awe.
”Enjoying yourself, Nicholas. Or should I say, dr Manehattan?”, Nicholas heard Rachel’s voice on his right.
“Rachael, why am I glowing blue? Why am I naked? Why is my voice different?”, Nicholas asked, his voice sounding relaxed and calm.
”Due to the humongous power you have at your disposal, a body made of flesh would not be able of holding it, therefore I constructed you from a Cherenkov radiation, which is non-lethal to others, though it can only give sunburns and skin cancer if significantly increased. You are naked because no material would endure your energy and you don’t feel any shame because you are now beyond almost all negative emotions. Also, I locked most of your power away, since I still believe you would like to feel human a little longer. Be careful when you activate them, for everytime you get closer to your peak, your humanity will decrease. That’s it, take care, Nicholas.”, and with that, Rachel vanished, leaving Nicholas alone.
Nicholas again looked at his hands, feeling his tremendous power hiding within him, waiting to be released.
He gazed around the forest deciding where to go next. His instincts told him to go west. Nicholas concentrated and with a burst of atoms in a shape of a ring, he disappeared.
Somewhere else:
Nicholas pulled himself together at the edge of remains of an ancient city, which reminded him of a Mayan city.
He started walking towards its center, determined to see what could he find there. If he was lucky, he could find something which could tell hin something about this world.
However, as soon as he passed some of the buildings, he felt some sharp objects hitting his back, making him stumble forward.
It did hurt, since he had a nervous system, but he knew it couldn’t kill him. It looks like he still wasn’t beyond pain.
Taking a look over his shoulder, he saw two spears and many arrows sticking out of his back.
Nicholas concentrated and unlocked his intangibility, making the arrows and the spears fall down, his wounds disappearing soon after.
He turned around and saw... ponies?
Yes, the beings that attacked him were ponies. They were all brown in color with dark brown manes and tails and had many tattoos on their bodies. They were hiding in the cracks or holes of the destroyed buildings, but Nicholas’s could see them like they were in front of him.
They again threw spears and launched arrows, but this time they passed harmlessly through him.
Nicholas concentrated yet again and this time, he unlocked telekinesis. He telekinetically lifted the remaining stone walls above ponies’ heads, making them widen their eyes and look up.
Nicholas let out a sigh and dropped the walls right on the ponies. However, he didn’t feel anything as stone walls immediately killed the Mayan ponies under their weight. He actually felt like stepping on an ant.
Nicholas then continued walking towards the Mayan pyramid in the middle of the foreign city like nothing happened at all.
As he was about to enter the pyramid, he could hear voices inside of it. One was feminine while other was masculine.
Turning himself intangible, he sank through the ceiling and continued falling until he reached the passage where the speaking he heard.
Nicholas quickly toned down his body color to not be very noticable and blend easily with shadows.
He then continued walking down the passage until he arrived in a big room. There, he saw more Mayan ponies, but also saw a creature that remainded him of ahuizotl and a female pony which oddly remainded him of Indiana Jones. She was chained to the wall right next to the passage where he was, but could not see him, since he was perfectly blending with the shadows.
“You think you can get away with this?! Just wait until I break free!”, the female pony tried to threaten ahuizotl while simultaneously trying to break free, but was quickly silenced with a smack on her cheek by a mayan pony.
The female spat out some blood and glared daggers at the mayan pony who smacked.
“Oh, I’m going to surely miss your arrogant speech, Daring Do, but sadly, your time is up and no force on Equuis will save you this time! HAHAHAHAHA!”, ahuizotl laughed hysterically, making Nicholas sigh. Not even a full hour on this world and he already feels like he is a character in some book written by a very poor author. Nevertheless, he decided to step in.
“Do you not known you should never say something like that?”, Nicholas questioned as he stepped out of the shadows, shining in a full blow.
“Er?! Wh-WHAT IN TARTARUS ARE YOU?!”, ahuizotl screamed at him while Mayan ponies quickly surrounded Nicholas and pointed their spears at him.
He wasn’t scared for he knew weapons as simple as spears held no chance in harming him, let alone killing him.
“I am someone you don’t want to mess with, ahuizotl.”, Nicholas spoke in a warning tone.
“HOW THE BUCK DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?!”, ahuizotl again screamed at Nicholas in surprise and fear.
Nicholas cocked an eyebrow. Ahuizotl is actually the guy’s name? ‘Ahuizotl’ is ahuizotl’s name?
...
...
...
“I know everything.”, he answered cryptically. Ahuizotl’s expression turned wrathful.
“AHHH, KILL THE FOOL!”, he bellowed to Mayan ponies, who simultaneously thrusted their spears through Nicholas.
...Nothing.
Nothing happened, no blood, Nicholas didn’t even flinch.
Mayan ponies pulled back their spears and again tried to stab Nicholas, but their spears passed through him like he wasn’t even there.
Nicholas wondered what to do. He could crush them like he did to the previous ones, but decided for a method which isn't going to kill Daring Do and will also make him look awesome in the same time.
He closed his eyes and concentrated.
An invisible forcefield appeared around Daring Do. Nicholas looked at her behind his shoulder and said: "Close your eyes and turn your head to the side."
His voice snapped Daring Do out of her shocked state and she quickly obligated.
Nicholas then started glowing brighter and brighter until the pure UV energy exploded from his body and lit up an entire pyramid with shining blue light. Even from the outside, the light could be seen shining bright for a few moments.
After the light died down, Nicholas looked at the Mayan ponies and Ahuizotl. Well, at their remains.
The pure UV energy reduced Ahuizotl and his Mayan goons to smoking charcoal skeletons.
Nicholas turned around at the mare who still had here eyes closed. He removed the forcefield and spoke: "You can look now."
Daring Do opened her eyes and blinked few times to adjust to Nicholas's light before her eyes went wide at the sight of charred skeletons.
"Y-you killed them!", she exclaimed in horror.
"I did, but let's talk about it somewhere else.", he said and teleported them out of the pyramid, at the edge of the city where he had first teleported.
Daring Do quickly jumped few feet away from him and crouched in a battle stance.
"What are you?", she growled at Nicholas.
"I am a guy who saved you from being killed. Isn't that enough?", he asked her and she seemed to ease up.
"I guess you have the point.", she admited and slowly trotted closer to him.
"But can I still know what you are?", she asked, looking at him with curiousity in her rather large eyes.
"I am a...cosmic being.", Nicholas responded after a brief moment of silence during which he pondered about what to say.
"Cosmic Being? You mean like an alien?", Daring Do Inquired, tilting her head to side. It actually didn't surprised her, since Nicholas surely wasn't something you'd see in your neighborhood.
"No, I mean like a being from a pantheon of beings whose role is to oversee the Creation. I was until recently just a mortal, but after my demise at the filthy hands of a bully, Lady Death judged me and found me worthy, thus granting me unlimited power over space-time continuum, science and physical plane of existence. The closest comparison could be the one with the God of monotheism.", Nicholas finished his (overly dramatic) speech and watched with amused expression as Daring Do's jaw hit the ground.
"God... of monotheism...", Daring Do whispered absently. The being in front of her... is powerful enough to be considered a god and not just any god, a supposedly omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent god.
"No! I refuse to believe it!", Daring yelled, snapping out of her trance and slamming her hoof down. She had to admit that the guy could teleport, shine blue and incinerate beings and maybe had more hidden powers in his arsenal but to compare himself to the likes of THE God was pure blasphemy!
"I take it from your reaction you obviously refuse to believe what I say.", Nicholas plainly noted. Daring huffed.
"If you want me to believe, prove it!", she demanded, glaring at him, blissfully unaware of the fact that Nicholas could obliterate her and this universe into nothingness, should he wished.
As an answer to her demand, Nicholas merely snapped his fingers, teleporting them somewhere else and simultaneously unlocking more power.
Daring Do looked around, or better, tried to look around, since everything around her was complete darkness and oblivion. She didn't feel the need to breathe and didn't even feel the air around her. It was as if she had been thrown into the vast nothingness of space.
Her right ear twitched when she heard a sound she was very familiar to. It was a sound of slow water moving, the same sound that could be heard on a ship when lost in the vastness of an ocean.
Before she could move an inch, all too familiar blue light shone over her and she saw her blue savior floating right next to her, ever so calm expression on his face. Now having a source of light, Daring looked beneath her and saw that it was indeed water, an ocean which was stretching into infinity.
Nicholas didn't spare her even a single glance as he opened his mouth and let his ever so smooth voice disturb the sound of silence.
"In the beginning, God created Heavens and the Earth, but the Earth was without a shape, so God saith: Let there be Light!", Nicholas snapped his fingers and bright light burst out of nothing and shone over the endless ocean.
Daring Do was watching it all, her mind going blank as she witnessed Nicholas creating Equuis from nothing. If she had any thought left in her, she would tell Nicholas that even this is enought, that she was now sure of his power, but all she could do was blankly watch everything around her being brought into existence.
