Chapter One: Saving Rainbow Dash
Chapter One
PonyVille – Sugar Cube Corner
Rainbow’s POV:
Rainbow Dash groaned softly as her eyes shuttered and finally opened. She groaned once again, but this time in severe pain. It wasn’t like Pinkie Pie to do this kind of thing! Why was she doing this? Why?! Rainbow tried to shake her head, forgetting about the strap for a second until it stopped her from doing what she wanted to. She looked up and saw that Pinkie was getting ready to give the cyan blue wingless Pegasus a shot. Of what, she didn’t want to know.
She let out a chocked sob and looked at the party mare with fear in her eyes. She tried to stop the tears and the sobbing, but it wasn’t working out like she wanted it to. She closed her eyes as she felt the syringe go into her lower back. She whimpered as the minutes passed and she lost all feeling in her body. She was about to ask just WHY Pinkie was doing this when the door was busted down and a figure came in, glaring at Pinkie Pie with one acid green eye and one golden eye.
Rainbow let out one more sob and finally passed out, but not before seeing another figure join the first one. Her eyes closed and she passed out from the cruelty that was done to her. She knew though now, that she life was practically over. She would no longer be able to fly. Her wings were no more.
Raziel’s POV:
Raziel heard noises as he flew overhead and saw that it was coming from Sugar Cube Corner, not that he knew that was its name. He landed, signaling for his companion, a griffon that was kind to others, and snuck down the basement stairs, listening for the noises that was getting louder. He slammed into the door, opening it and gagged from the overpowering stench of blood and decay. Looking around, he blanched at the sight that greeted him.
Everywhere on the walls and on tables were bones and organs of other animals. He was sickened that somepony could do something like this. He saw a pink mare getting ready to cut into a cyan blue wingless Pegasus and got enraged. He watched as the mare went unconscious and took a step forward to deal with this damned Earth Pony whom obviously thought that she could take away a Pony’s flight like it was no big deal.
“WHAT do you think you’re doing?! How could you do something like this?!” Raziel roared in anger, charging forward to either knock this pony out or kill her. Either way, it would lead to her actions being discovered. He lashed out with his tail as he leapt over her and knocked her out. “Oceania. Please deal with this Pony. I’m going to take this one to the hospital. I should be able to heal her wings, but with how much damage I see, she’ll never be able to fly again. Even IF she was, she would never be as good as she used to be unless she can build up the necessary wing strength.” Raziel said.
He gently undid the straps and took out the nails in her hooves and put her onto his back, putting her Cutie Marks and wings into a bucket. He ran out and flew off into the air, flaring his wings to keep steady so as to not make the mare on his back fall off of him. Soon enough, he got to the hospital and walked in. He got the ponies to take her to the emergency room, but he wrestled his way in, not even noticing the mare’s friends. He was going to save her wings, him getting exhausted be damned.
Hours passed and he was finally able to get the mare’s wings back onto her body, shocking all or the pony’s that were the doctors and nurses. He let out an exhausted sigh and walked out as they got her situated into a room, hooked up to all kinds of machines to keep her alive. HE went to the waiting room, already cleaned off and saw 4 other ponies’ in the waiting room. “Uhhhh . . . are you waiting for somepony?” Raziel said, getting their attention.
Raziel was expecting anything except for what just happened. He was slammed onto the ground and held there by a blonde Earth Pony. She was glaring at him with a suspicion that he somehow knew that she had a right to have. “Yes, we are actually! We’re here for Rainbow Dash, whom you just so happened to have on your back! What the hey were you doing with her?!” the Earth Pony demanded with anger in her tone.
Raziel snorted and got up, not even seeming to have any trouble getting up, despite having a full grown mare on his chest. “As much as I adore having a beautiful mare such as you on top of me, I am here for that mare I brought in. Speaking of which, now that I think of it, that mare was familiar to me. Huh, must have known her when she was a filly and I was a hatchling. Anyways, I heard noises a few hours ago and decided to check it out. Imagine my surprise to seeing a pink Earth Pony cutting up a cyan blue Pegasus. I have Oceania holding the Earth Pony prisoner until Princess Celestia gets here. Then she will be handed over to the Princess. Anyways, my name is Raziel. I am a Multi-Elemental 9-tailed Kitsune Dragon. Now the thing is, your friend is highly traumatized and I had to take my Kitsune form, which is when my healing abilities are at their strongest, and it still took my hours to heal your friend’s wings. Well, heal them back onto her body.” Raziel said with a tired sigh.
"The point of the matter is, your friend may or may not be able to ever fly again. There’s a 50% chance that she may be able to fly again, but unless she’s able to build up a lot of wing strength and muscle, she will never be able to be as good of a flyer as she used to be, if she was a good one. She’ll be fine other than the fact that she’ll always have the scars to remind her of what happened down in that basement.” Raziel said, and was about to continue, until a golden colored Griffin came barging in, looking panicked. “Oceania! What happened?!” Raziel asked.
“I’m so sorry Raziel. That pink mare woke up and charged at me! I panicked and reacted out of instinct and reflex! She was hit by my claws, hitting a wall at an odd angle! She’s dead…” Oceania said, trailing off as tears ran down her face as she realized what she had just done. She dashed over to a clean bucket and vomited as she sobbed at killing somepony. Raziel went over to her, comforting her with soothing words as he looked at his friend with sympathy.
“It’s not your fault Oceania. Everyone has moments like those. If not for the fact I caught her too off guard, she probably would have charged at me, then I probably would have torched her out of instincts. That or broke her mind. Easy does it now. Come on, there there. You’re good Oceania. You’ll be fine.” Raziel said softly as he comforted his friend.
Slowly, but surely Oceania calmed down and explained how the pink mare had woken up and saw Oceania guarding her, but no cyan mare. After she saw that her so called pray had been taken away, she grabbed a scalpel and charged at poor Oceania, whom not knowing what to do, lashed out with her claws, killing the pink mare.
Raziel sighed softly and turned to the others mares that were looking positively horrified. “May I know your names now? I have told mine, it is common curtesy to tell yours.” Raziel asked, trying to distract the others from what they had just heard. He could understand that they were horrified and everything, considering that they had just more than likely lost a friend, but he had been in a war, so he was unaffected by the gruesome scene. It was the smell that had horrified him. It had shown that she’d had multiple victims.
The blonde one nodded and stepped forward, giving Raziel a chance to examine her. She had an orange shade of fur with her blonde mane and tail being in ponytails, no pun intended. She had white freckles across her check and a Stetson cowpony hat on her head. Her green eyes showed that she was an honest hard working pony that would bluntly tell the truth. Her cutie mark was three red apples. “The name is Applejack. I’m a farm pony, so don’t think I won’t buck you if you dare to harm my friends!” Applejack exclaimed.
Another one came up, this one had pale yellow fur with a pale pink mane and tail. She was a Pegasus and seemed to radiate a shyness that was over the top to be honest. She had greenish blue eyes that showed that she had a shy personality, but when it came to her friends being in danger, she could stand up for herself and her friends. Her cutie mark was three pink and green butterflies. “M-my name is Fluttershy. I-I work with a-animals. P-please don’t hurt Rainbow Dash. S-she did nothing to d-deserve this.” Fluttershy stuttered, though her voice and tone were firm.
A third walked forward and she had pure white fur with a purplish blue mane and tail. She had blue eyes that showed that she loved fashion and was a generous pony that would protect her friends to the end. She also seemed to radiate a kind of pushy and bossy aura. Her cutie mark was three blue diamonds. “I am Rarity. If you even lay a claw on Rainbow Dash that we find in any way threatening, I will have you in some type of jail so fast that your world will spin. Understood?” Rarity asked with a firm and threatening tone of voice.
The last one walked up and she had lavender fur with a blueish purple main that had a purple and pink stripe in it, same with her tail. Her eyes were purple and showed that while she was book smart mostly, she DID know how to fight, though she kept it mostly a secret and mainly used magic. Her cutie mark was in the form a big pink star surrounded by six smaller white ones. “My name is Twilight Sparkle. I won’t threaten you, since my friends did a good job of that. I would like to thank you for doing all that you could for our friend.” Twilight said with a sad look.
Raziel smiled softly and nodded at the four ponies with a small smile on his face. “I’m glad to see that you truly and genuinely care for your friend. She’ll need that kind of friendship in her life. And trust me on the fact that hurting her is the LAST thing that is on my mind. In fact, it isn’t even IN my mind. I would NEVER harm someone like that. That wasn’t torture to get information out of somepony. No, that was pure sadistic pleasure that she was doing. And I would know. I WAS tortured by somepony. It haunts my nightmares to this very day. It’s what being in a war will do to you. I sincerely hope you never have to go through that. Anyways, I will be recommending to her that she talks to somepony that can relate to her situation, which would be me. For now, though, we should ALL get some sleep. She is in recovery. She’ll be put into a room where she can be visited in the morning. Goodnight everypony.” Raziel said, getting nods and looks of sympathy as they all laid down and fell asleep.
Raziel looked to see that Oceania had already curled up and had fallen asleep. Raziel looked out the window, sorrow in his eyes as he remembered what he went through when he was captured. He wasn’t only tortured. He had many unspeakable things done to him. Things that he didn’t want to think about nor talk about, but they were always coming to haunt him in his sleep. Maybe if he was surrounded by ponies that cared for their friends like they did, he would not have any nightmares. He laid down as well, curling up near Oceania and closed his eyes. The last thing he remembered before falling asleep was that he was able to save somepony from a fate worse than death.
