Everyone knows the story. Starlight Glimmer, in her bid to get revenge on Twilight, found a spell that allowed her to travel back in time and stop the event that led to the Mane Six's cutie marks. But Twilight convinced her to stop and taught her the value of friendship. Starlight has finally been reformed.

But is that story true? Only Twilight and Spike were present on the adventures through time. Would it really have been so easy to convince Starlight to give up on her goals?

What if what Starlight found on her journeys was not a time travel spell, but a book about how to hypnotize others and the ways to twist those in trance to your will? What if Starlight is just as bent on revenge as ever, but her plans are far more patient and wide-ranging? People have been acting a bit strange around her in subtle ways.
