//-------------------------------------------------------// Friendship Is Forever -by Saberking2012- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Best Freinds Forever(Fluttershy's POV) //-------------------------------------------------------// Best Freinds Forever(Fluttershy's POV) I always knew one day this day would come. Where we would go our separate ways, or we would meet new people and make new friends but... I was scared that when we graduate, I would become a forgotten memory. I didn't want that. Not after everything we have been though together. I looked over and saw Rainbow Dash sitting on the couch in the living room where she was reading her favorite book. She sighed, leaning her head back as she looked up at ceiling. I got up and dusted off the furniture. I was wearing my usual, pink-colored pajamas, and was humming a gentle tune as I did that. I always hummed the same tune when I was dusting; that hadn't changed for years. I looked over and saw a smile forming on her face. I wonder what she was think about?  She sighed once more as she looked around. At first, I thought she has zoned out. Maybe this was the opportunity to tell her how I felt? I left the room and went upstairs to practice I would say to her. Alright, calm down Fluttershy, she's your best friend. We've been though a lot together. If I want to keep her as my friend, I've got to stand up for what I believe in. After taking in a few more breaths, I walked back downstairs and laid down on the floor, waiting for the right moment to tell her. As I was about to say something, she spoke. "Hey, Fluttershy" she softly said, setting her book aside on top of the table. "What is it?" I asked her, turning my magazine down as I looked up at her. "Can you... come over here? I have... something to tell you." She said, somewhat worried. "A-alright." I replied, stuttering. I climbed up onto her feet, walking over and sitting beside her as she placed her feet down onto the floor. Maybe she's thinking of the same thing? "W-what is it, Rainbow Dash?" I stuttered again. She placed a hand on my shoulder, a soft pink blush coming to my cheeks as she leaned forward. I grew more scared by the second before she spoke once more. "I've been hiding something from you, Fluttershy, for a long time now. But... I can't stand it any longer, I need to tell you..." She said leaning slightly more forward as she kept her voice soft and low. "W-w-what is it? What's wrong?" I asked her, my blush turning redder now. Here it is. The moment of truth. "I... love you..." She said, her face grow red. "Not... just as a freind, Fluttershy," she leaned in closer, her nose almost coming into contact with mine, "but more than that..." Wait, w-was she confessing her feelings? I felt my eyes widen, my blushing growing even more fierce. I was completely shocked to hear what she said, to the point where I even had my mouth ajar. Had she felt this was all this time? Suddenly, she leaned back and started laughing, adding on even more confuion as a few tears came from her eyes. "You should see your face, Fluttershy!" She exclaimed, one hand over her stomach and the other wiping away some of her tears from her eye. "You actually believed me!" I slowly blinked, still trying to adjust to what just happened. At first I was in  denial about what she said. "W-what?" I muttered, not comprehending what was going on. "I was joking, Fluttershy! You actually believed I was in love with you like that?" She continued laughing, barely able to sit up straight as she wiped the tears away from her other eye. "Y-you were joking?" I asked, my voice soft and low. "Of course I," she began. Tears started to form around my eyes. I felt as my heart has been pulled apart by what she said. "was..." "Y-you were joking?" I choked out, tears starting to well up in my eyes. "F-Fluttershy?" She stuttered. The tears started streaming down my face as I stood up. "R-Rainbow Dash," I began, tearing my eyes away from her as I brought my arm up to my face, "h-how could you?!" I exclaimed right before I started running, racing upstairs before she could see anymore tears. I ran upstairs, almost unable to see where I was going. I knew she liked to play jokes every once an a while but... I really wanted to tell her what she meant to me. I ran into my room and jumped into my bed, covering my face with a pillow to not let anyone see my face. It was painful to realize she would never see me like that. A few minutes later, I heard footsteps near the door. I didn't look back and continued to cry. As I continued to cry, I heard her sitting down at the edge of the bed. "G-go away." I muttered. I should've known fate would not let me keep her as a friend. I was use to being alone. Even before meeting her but... As my thoughts were scrambling around, I felt her hand on my back, rubbing across it as she tried to comfort me. "Fluttershy, I'm sorry for playing such a cruel joke on you. I was a stupid idiot and I'm very sorry." As I continued to cry, she raised her hand up to the back of my head, running her hand down my hair time and time again. "P-please, don't worry about..." I started, but I was unable to utter another word. Maybe it would be easier to just let go. Just like when a mama bird has to let the baby birds fly on their own. Maybe that's what this was. Maybe I was being selfish to try and try to keep her just to make me feel better. It was then, I heard her take in a deep breath. She laid her hand up against the back of her neck as I felt her leaned down closer to my ear. "Fluttershy," she began. After a pause, she continued, "your the most important thing to me and I would never do anything to hurt you. When you cry, I cry. When your hurt, I'm hurt. I really do care about you so please, don't fear. I won't leave you." After she had said that, I quieted down and my body stopped trembling. The sobs stopped as I moved my head slightly to look at her. She smiled a warm smile at me before I got up and hugging her. "I-I care about you too. I may have animal friends, but..." I paused for a second before resuming. "Your the only one I can call a true friend. When I heard you say, 'I love you', that made me feel even closer and worth being around. It remained me of the time you saved me from the rain. Ever since that day, I was scared of losing you... Your everything to me and without you...I feel like a butterfly without wings, not being able to do anything." I said, tearing up. She held me closer and tighten the hug. She looked up at the ceiling before sighing, the smile that she had shown me warmed my heart. "Silly... You know I can't stand it when you cry... But, I'm glad your my friend. And I wouldnt trade it for the world." //-------------------------------------------------------// A Joke Gone Wrong(RD's POV) //-------------------------------------------------------// A Joke Gone Wrong(RD's POV) I sat on the couch in the living room where I was hanging out with Fluttershy. I had my favorite book, Daring Do open lying up against my bent legs, and even though I appeared to be reading it by anyone looking, I was actually not reading a word of it. The reason was simple; I was just downright bored and nothing, at all, appealed to me. I had actually forced myself to get to reading my favorite book, hoping that it would liven things up, but that idea had failed. I was still just as bored as before. I sighed, leaning my head back as I looked up at the ceiling. It had been like this ever since a couple hours ago where I had just entered this state of boredom, of not being able to find any fun or interest in anything. I was tired of it; so tired of it that I was actually turning my head to watch Fluttershy as she dusted off the furniture. She was wearing his usual, pink-colored pajamas, and was humming a gentle tune as she went along. She always hummed the same tune when she was dusting; that hadn't changed for years. Though it was a nice tune and quite pleasing to my ears, I found no interest in just sitting and listening to it. I wanted something more; I wanted some fun. Seeing as she was the only one around, she was my only source of fun. Not the regular, play-a-video-game kind of fun or chat-with-friends kind of fun; but the kind of fun you could get from teasing someone or having them under your absolute control. That kind of fun. Even as I was thinking about this, a smile was forming on my face. I began to wonder how to tease her this time, or maybe I should play a trick on her to see her reaction? But then again, she's to easy to get a reaction. It's always surprised and nothing else so it would have to be something big, but what? With that question in mind, and with no clear answer in sight, I sighed as I look at a cover of a book. It showed two characters being very close. At first, I just continued to ignore it as I continued to wonder. Then, after a few moments, my eyes started to get drawn to the two characters on the cover. They were hugging, one of them yelling out that she loved the other character. That was when an idea started forming in my brain. What if I pretended to be in love with her and confessed? That would have to be too shocking for her and maybe get a good laugh or two, right? Besides, it would be oh so fun to see her face when I told her. Then again, I wasn't that great of an actor... Ah, who cares? I was bored, and if I sets my mind to it, I can do anything. All I needs to do is think about it and plan it. I has the knowledge, it's just applying that knowledge. Of course, I'd have to make it convincing - so I would, like, have to sound like some kind of love-struck fool? Can I manage something like that? You know what? I'm the model student of sports, so of course I can manage it! I spent the next twenty minutes thinking about how I should go about, what to say and how to say it. I was going to have to put feelings into my voice and keep my facial expression appropriate, and I needed to have a good set of words to follow. If I wasn't 100% convincing, she would saying something like: "W-What are you doing". After a bit longer of planning and thinking, I finally believed I was ready. Fluttershy had, during the time, left the room, but she was now back. As she was lying on the floor on her stomach, reading one of the magazine, I figured she was finished with whatever she was doing. So, with her present, it was time to end my boredom. "Hey, Fluttershy" I softly said, setting my book aside on top of the table. "What is it?" she asked me, turning her magazine down as she looked up at me. "Can you... come over here? I have... something to tell you." I told her, focusing on seeing if any doubt or suspicion was evident in her eyes. So far, I saw none. So did that mean I was convincing? "A-alright." She replied, stuttering for a reason I did not know. She climbed up onto my feet, walking over and sitting beside me as I placed my feet down onto the floor. "W-what is it, Rainbow Dash?" She stuttered again. I passed it off as something due to my uncommon tone of voice. Or it could be just that she's always like that. I placed a hand on her shoulder, a soft pink blush coming to her cheeks as I leaned forward. "I've been hiding something from you, Fluttershy, for a long time now. But... I can't stand it any longer, I need to tell you..." I told her, leaning slightly more forward as I kept my voice soft and low. "W-w-what is it? What's wrong?" She asked me, her blush turning redder now. "I... love you..." I told her, feeling my own face grow red due to my behavior and due to her own blush. "Not... just as a freind, Fluttershy," I leaned in closer, my nose almost coming into contact with her nose, "but more than that..." I could no longer feel my boredom as I watched her eyes widen, her blush growing even more fierce. She looked completely shocked to hear what I said, to the point where she even had her mouth ajar. I just couldn't help myself, I  was just breaking up about how she looked. I hardly ever saw her face like this. I couldn't keep in character anymore so I leaned back away from her as I started laughing, shocking her even more as a few tears came from my eyes. "You should see your face, Fluttershy!" I exclaimed, one hand over my stomach and the other wiping away some of my tears from my eye. "You actually believed me!" She blinked, her eyes still mirroring the shock that was within her. "W-what?" She muttered, not comprehending what was going on. "I was joking, Fluttershy! You actually believed I was in love with you like that?" I continued laughing, barely able to sit up straight as I wiped the tears away from my other eye. "Y-you were joking?" She asked, her voice soft and low. "Of course I," I began, my voice still laced with laughter as I looked back at her, "was..." My voice lost its laughter as I saw the look on her face. "Y-you were joking?" She choked out, tears starting to well up in her eyes. "F-Fluttershy?" I stuttered, my mind racing as I wondered why she was crying. Tears started streaming down her face as she stood up. "R-Rainbow Dash," she began, tearing her eyes away from me as she brought her arm up to her face, "h-how could you!" she exclaimed right before she started running, racing upstairs before I could even begin to comprehend what was going on. W-why would she start crying like that? Right after I had told her it was a joke? Seriously, what was going o- wait...Right after I had told her it was a joke. My eyes began to widen as I put two and two together, realized the reason why she had started crying. It wasn't because I had told her I was in love with her, but... it had to be because I had been... joking about caring about her... But that would mean... Does she think I didn't like her? T-There's no way... B-but she hardly ever cries like that... I stood up, walking over to the staircase and looking upwards. There was a pain in my heart for having caused her, my closet friend to start crying like so, and my mind was yelling at myself about having made such a cruel joke like that. With both weighing on my conscience, I started heading upstairs, all the while wondering if she was thinking I was lying to her. I tried to tell myself it wasn't so, but I could think of no other reason why she would start crying like so. When I reached her room, I found that her door was wide open. I took a deep breath before walking though, wincing as I heard the sobs that were coming from her. She was lying on her bed, her head buried into her pillow as she continued to cry. I walked up to her, sitting down at the edge of her bed. "G-go away." She muttered, the sound of her voice saying such a thing causing me to flinch. I took another deep breath before laying my hand on her back, rubbing across it as I tried to comfort her. "Fluttershy, I'm sorry for playing such a cruel joke on you. I was a stupid idiot and I'm very sorry." As she continued to cry, I raised my hand up to the back of her head, running my hand down her hair time and time again. "P-please, don't worry about..." she started, but when she did not utter another word, I presumed that was all she had to say at the moment; and even though I had apologized to her, I still felt the pain that was gnawing at my heart. I knew it wouldn't subside until she stopped crying, but what could I say to her in this kind of situation to get her to stop crying? It was then, I had my answer. Taking another deep breath, I laid my hand up against the back of her neck as I leaned down closer to her ear. "Fluttershy," I began, a blush forming on my face as I continued, "your the most important thing to me and I would never do anything to hurt you. When you cry, I cry. When your hurt, I'm hurt. I really do care about you so please, don't fear. I won't leave you." After I had said that, she quieted down, her body stopped trembling anymore with sobs as she moved her head slightly to look at me with one eye. I only smiled a warm smile at her before standing up and hugging me. "I-I care about you too. I may have animal friends, but..." She paused for a second before resuming. "Your the only one I can call a true friend. When I heard you say, 'I love you', that made me feel even closer and worth being around. It remained me of the time you saved me from the rain. Ever since that day, I was scared of losing you... Your everything to me and without you...I feel like a butterfly without wings, not being able to do anything." She said, tearing up. I was stunned and feel so stupid to not realize how much I meant to her. There were no words that could possibly return what she said. I held her closer and tighten the hug. I looked up at the ceiling before sighing, the smile that I had shown her still set upon my face. "Silly... You know I can't stand it when you cry... But, I'm glad your my friend. And I wouldnt trade it for the world."
