My Little Pony: Zombie Girls
"No, don't come any closer!"
"I... I can't help myself... I... I need to eat!"
"NOOO!"
Rainbow Dash popped another piece of popcorn into her mouth while her eyes remained glued to the television screen, obviously getting into the zombie movie she picked out for movie night with her friends. October was one of her favorite times of the year. The crisp, autumn breeze flowing around her, leaves of red, yellow and orange scattered across the ground, what's not the love? But by far, her favorite part was Halloween. She just loved everything about it! Especially when it came to movies. Horror movies are just the best in October. And for movie night with the girls, she decided to go with her one of her favorite zombie movies. Even though she had Fluttershy's approval to pick any horror movie she wanted, she decided to be nice and go with something that wouldn't make her friend jump out of her skin. So she decided to go with a classic zombie movie. Black and white picture, over the top music, cheesy effects, all the signs of a horror movie from around the 60's. Despite it's age, Rainbow still enjoyed it every time she watched it.
The exact same couldn't be said for the rest of her friends. Fluttershy being the prime example. As Rainbow Dash and the others continued to watch the movie, she had her hands covering her closed eyes as the newly infected man began to devour his companion. She tried to muster up the courage to sit through a horror movie so her friends would be happy, but this was just too much for her. "Get a hold of yourself, Fluttershy. It's just a movie... just a movie... She kept repeating this in her mind to keep herself calm. Once and awhile she would take a peek between her fingers to look at the screen, but the sight of a walking corpse with rotting flesh tearing the meat off of their poor victim was more than enough to make her close her eyes again.
Rarity wasn't a big fan of zombies, either. Not that she was afraid of them, mind you. The style of this particular movie did have it's charm, and she could appreciate that, but it certainly wasn't scary to her. She wasn't too impressed with the tattered and torn wardrobe of the zombies, either. Dreadful, simply dreadful. As for Applejack, she wasn't the biggest fan of horror movies in the world, but there were a few she did enjoy. When she was looking over the case for this movie, she didn't have high expectations for it. But much to her surprise, she was getting more sucked into the film than she originally thought she was going to be. She was actually enjoying it.
Pinkie Pie probably liked the movie a bit too much. Anytime something frightening happened, she gave a short shriek of terror, giving the same reaction that people who watched this movie back when it was new probably had when they saw it in the theater. She wasn't actually scared, but she always found it fun to pretend to be scared. That was the whole point of a horror movie! To get scared. Because sometimes, it was actually fun to be scared. And that was the whole point of movies in general, to have fun. And right now, hanging out with her friends with a cheesy zombie flick playing on the television, she was having a blast.
Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle (or as Pinkie Pie nick named her, Sci-Twi), found the movie to be... interesting. It wasn't thought provoking or really artistic, but it was a decent flick to them. It certainly wasn't scary, but at the time it came out, it wasn't too hard to believe that it was terrifying to the people who saw it back then. It just wasn't as scary to them. They laid on their stomachs on Rainbow's bed while the rest of the gang were huddled together on the floor. Fluttershy tried hiding behind Applejack so no one could see her quiver in fear. Even snuggling with the rabbit plush toy she brought wasn't enough to calm her nerves. Maybe if her actual bunny, Angel, was there to cuddle with her, she wouldn't be as scared. She thought about hugging Applejack from behind to help calm her down, but she just couldn't bring herself to do it just yet. Although, she probably would before the movie was over. Rainbow Dash and Applejack sat ahead of everyone, with the bowl of popcorn between them, and Pinkie Pie sitting right behind them. The three of them were the only ones who had an appetite during the movie. The effects weren't the greatest, but they were still enough to make the rest of the gang lose their appetite, especially poor Fluttershy.
"It's over... it's finally over..."
"No, we're just getting started!"
"Huh!? Wait, NOOOOO!!!"
"IT'S DINNER TIME!!!"
THE END...?
As the credits began to roll, the group was brought back to reality. The last scare of the movie was more than enough to get Fluttershy to glomp Applejack from behind. AJ didn't seem to mind, though. Rarity picked herself off the ground and began to stretch her arms.
"Well, that was quite an... entertaining movie." She said, while Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash finished off what was left of the popcorn. Twilight got up and hit the main light, eliminating the darkness that once engulfed the room. It took a moment for everyone to adjust their eyes to the sudden light before they could see properly.
"It's more than just entertaining, Rarity," Rainbow replied as she reached over to eject her DVD and put it back in the case. "it's a classic!" Sunset rolled over onto her back while Pinkie broke out her laptop to update her status.
"It was certainly more enjoyable than ah thought it was gonna be." AJ said as she comforted Fluttershy. The pink haired girl desperately clung to Applejack, and appreciated that she returned the embrace. Twilight flopped onto the bed next to Sunset, noticing that her friend seemed a bit sleepy.
"I thought it was terrific!" Pinkie cheered, as she happily typed away on her laptop. Sunset quietly yawned, and realized that it was harder to keep her eyes open. Sleep was inevitable.
"What'd you think of the movie, Twi?" Rainbow asked, looking another good opinion of the movie. Twilight took her attention away from sleepy Sunset to acknowledge her friend.
"Oh, I thought it was good." She replied as she adjusted her glasses. Rainbow was too impressed with her reply.
"JustJ good? C'mon, it's better than just good!" Rainbow wasn't expecting her to call it a masterpiece, but to say it was just good was an understatement in her eyes.
"Yo, Sunset, how about you?" As the group listened to hear Sunset's thoughts, all they heard from her was her gentle snoring. The group was a bit surprised at the moment, but seeing her sleeping form reminded them of how late it was.
"Ya know, ah think Sunset's got the right idea there." Applejack yawned as she stretched her arms. "Ah think it's about time we hit the hay." Fluttershy looked up at AJ, obviously not ready to stop snuggling. Applejack noticed this just as she finished yawning. She gave Fluttershy a comforting smile as she pointed in Sunset's direction.
"Ah don't think she'll mind." AJ said. Fluttershy didn't even think about coming up with a reason for saying no. Quick as lighting, she released AJ, albeit reluctantly, and pounced on her sleeping friend, wrapping her arms around Sunset, left hand on her back and right hand on the back of her head, and pulling her into a loving embrace, snuggling with her as if she were one of her plush toys. Surprisingly, Fluttershy's actions weren't enough to even stir Sunset from her sleep. With nothing stopping her, Fluttershy pushed Sunset's head gently into her chest so she could bury her face into her hair. As Fluttershy settled in with Sunset, the rest of the gang decided to bunk down for the night. Rainbow hopped into the bed next to Fluttershy and Sunset Shimmer while Twilight and Applejack slipped into their sleeping bags. Rarity did the same, but Pinkie slid into the same sleeping bag as her. Rarity sighed, but didn't really mind it. It was just Pinkie Pie being Pinkie Pie.
"Well, night everyone!" Pinkie said, and just like that, she was out like a light. Rarity put her face cover on, and relaxed for the night. They all wished each other a good night before they all, some quicker than others, got settled in and drifted off to sleep. Applejack had her hat over her face, arms behind her head, and her left leg crossed over the right. Rainbow didn't even bother to put her blanket over herself. She laid sprawled out on her bed with her right leg hanging off the side. Sleeping at the foot of the bed, Fluttershy managed to get some go to sleep, still embracing Sunset, who was unaware of her cuddling. Twilight placed her glasses on the nightstand next to Rainbow's bed before she made herself comfortable in her sleeping bag. She wished that she brought Spike along, but the little pup wanted to stay at their house tonight. He was probably up to something right there and then. Twilight continued to ponder the possibilities of what her dog was doing before exhaustion finally won over. Soon enough, slumber befell them all. While they were enjoying their rest, they experienced their own delightful dreams. They slept peacefully that night, unaware of what was to come....
