A Spirit of Nature has taken over Harmony City, the ponies' capital located in the Everfree Forest. Most of the Equestrian government is held prisoner within it... including the alicorn princesses.

Without the Elements of Harmony and their Bearers, there seem to be no way to stop the Spirit as it expands the forest, ready to cover the entire land in it and plunging the young Equestria into a wild age.

Running out of options and time, Commander Hurricane initiates Project: Last Resort.

The four most dangerous and powerful enemies of the kingdom will be sent to fight this new menace and stop it... no matter if they die in the process.
