Scales and Arpeggios
As the late bloomer of the Crusaders, Sweetie Belle has always felt a bit... inadequate in comparison to her stellar friends. The one soul she can share all her concerns with without feeling pitiful is Spike, the always friendly dragon. She finds that he often processes her thoughts and feelings similar to how she does, but in a much more rational, level-headed way. A quality that is much appreciated after a self-pity crying bout. But Spike never shames her and encourages her to follow her dreams, promising to help her reach her goals in any way possible.
Of course, all of Spike's help entails that he and Belle spend quite a lot of time together picking each other's brains and learning a lot about one another. How could his feelings not get all incoherent when he learns about every part of Sweetie? He soon realizes she's magnificent and that he'd do anything to help her realize it. However, confronting and confessing his feelings for the beauteous Belle makes him squeamish. With both adolescents unsure of their skills and sentiments, how will their true feelings ever come to light?
