"Find light in the beautiful sea, I chose to be happy."

-Rihanna {Diamonds in the Sky}

Oregon is typically not a very interesting place, besides the constant rainfall and the occasional football fans that visited. But mostly, it was a dreary and lonely place for Mei Yu, the enetregectic spirit of the town. She always felt as if Luna Bay just wasn't enough. That more was out there. She also didn't want to have a boring job. She wanted to be an athlete, which wasn't really her father's idea of a good daughter. But Mei, well, she never knew when to quit on her dreams.

Even as a child, Mei was extremely hard to make sit still. She would tap her fingers on the table, or whistle. She always had to be doing something. And many times, did her first grade teacher demand her to stop immediately. Mei would try, but it would only last for a few minutes or so. This fire never burned out of her, and followed her till her nineteenth birthday. And the fire was never leaving.

Mei kept that fire strong. She ran faster than all the boys in her third grade P.E class and was even able to beat the larger fourth graders at basketball. She tried out for every sports team her school had to offer as well. But that wasn't all, in sixth grade, she had won her league's championship in cross country. Ofcourse all the girls were jealous, but Mei was able to keep peace.

Mrs.Yu knew that Mei would achieve big things. Especially when Mei said she wanted to be a student athlete at Yale, one of the most hardest and difficult colleges to get into. And she hatbored that for a while.

"Mei!" Mrs.Yu called.

Mei woke up from her deep, sleep. She rubbed her eyes as she sat up. Mei stretched a bit and got her slippers on, and exited her room unwillingly, but tempted by the smell of bacon.

"Rise and shine, Sleeping Beauty." Mei's younger sister, Katie, joked.

Katie was always an early riser, and always made fun of Mei's sleeping habits. Katie was even in her clothes and had definitely showered that morning. Mei ignored Katie and sat at the table, looking at her plate with toast and bacon placed upon it.

"Yum." Mei muttered, as she began to eat her food.

"Well, Mei, me and Katie have to go." Her mother then told Mei.

Mei's responses was a simple,"Why?"

"Just a few tests at the doctor's office." She explained.

Katie suddenly looked uncomfortable. Katie never liked the doctor. And she loved to make it obvious with temper tantrums or small fits a long the way. But now that Katie was ten, she had grown out of that, but still hated the doctor's office.

"Momma, I don't want to go!" Katie groaned.

"No but's, young lady." Mrs.Yu replied to her daughter's groans.

Mei continued to chew on her toast as she watched her mother, go into her room to get dressed. Katie on the other hand, turned the television on to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Katie had always loved the show, no matter the age, it always stuck with her. Mei Yu already knew the names of all the main characters, because of Katie's obsession of watching it. The names were something like Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Twilight, Rarity, and Fluttershy. But to be honest, Katie's favorite was the ruler of the pony world, Celestia.

Katie had stuffed animals of the unicorn and Pegasus hybrid. Katie would ask Mei to put the ponies' hair in complex hair-do's. Mei once even had to sew up poor Celestia's neck, because a boy at Katie's school had torn the neck up, accidentally when playing too roughly with it. Mei remembered how Katie's face was stained with tears and she said that,"How will Celestia help me with my homework?"

That was the thing. She treated Celestia as of she was real, as if she was Iatie's best friend. When in reality how could a pastel colored pony help the family? It was completely unrealistic. And would never happen. But that didn't stop Katie from insisting they buy a Luna plushie, so Celestia wasn't lonely.

Luna was apparently Celestia's sister. Or so Katie had told Mei. Luna looked like Celestia only more darker. And according to what Mei had watched on the show, Luna raised the moon, while Celestia would raise the sun every morning. It was the one if the only duties that the princesses had.

"My Little Pony, My Little Pony, Ahhhh." The television sang.

Katie sang along and then turned to Mei, who was still eating breakfast. "Sing!" Katie squealed.

Mei rolled her eyes and replied,"Nah, I'm too old for that."

"Aww, you're such a bummer!" Katie remarked, as she continued singing the happy song.

Mei giggled and began to say,"You know you're all my very best friends!"

Katie laughed as the show started,"Hah, I knew you'd sing."

"Wouldn't it make Tia sad if I didn't sing?" Mei teased, referring to the Celestia toy that accompanied Katie as she watched her show.

"Yeah, Tia loves to hear you sing." Katie replied hugging the toy.

Mei chuckled. As the odd pair continued to watch the show with the colorful ponies. Mei would have never guessed that things would change for Katie. But things would change even more for Celestia, the small plush little pony. That that animated character that Katie idolized was going to change both Mei and Katie's lives.
