Birthday Party

Rarity was inside one morning sowing a dress in order to fill an order. She needed to make sure that the order was done. She needed to finish it before taking customers orders and selling dresses to ponies that ordered them

It was busy that day as everypony was at their jobs setting up. As soon as she finished the dress she opened her shop and got Sweetie Belle up. Rarity then posted the open sign on her door. As she finished she sat down and set up her sowing machine. After plugging it in she brought out a clothes line and then put extra dresses that she had already made and then hung them up.

As soon as she did that she sat down and waited for customers. Soon customers started to come into her shop and she took orders and sold the pre made dresses to ponies who had ordered them. Sweetie Belle ate breakfast and went to school as Rarity ran her shop. While Rarity was working away and writing orders Applejack walked up. Rarity stopped and looked up. She continued to write as she wanted to get all of the other orders down.

"Rarity I want to talk to you." Applejack said. Rarity set her quill down and spoke.

"What is it?" Rarity asked her. Applejacks brow furrowed and she spoke.

"It's my birthday today. Me, my friends and my family will celebrate it at Sweet Apple Acres. Are you coming?" Applejack asked in hopefulness. Rarity sat and wondered about the question. She thought about going with Applejack for her birthday. She spoke.

"I don't know...." Rarity said being unsure. Applejack waited for a clear answer. Rarity looked at her and tried to speak looking for her voice as she came up with a response that would give her more time to think of going to Applejacks party.

"I'll think about it." Rarity said not knowing how to decide between going and not going Applejacks party.

"Well I hope you can come.....It would mean a lot." Applejack responded to Rarity. Rarity nodded

Applejack talked all about her birthday and then left. Rarity shook her head and continued working on orders with Applejacks birthday on her mind. She was unsure about going. Why did Rarity hesitate on deciding? Applejack hoped that Rarity could make it.

Rarity was still at her boutique thinking of Applejack. Rarity groaned thinking of the all the possibilities of going to Applejacks birthday party. She would seem like a bad friend if she didn't go though. She spoke to herself.

"Why go to her birthday?" It would be embarrassing." Rarity said thinking of Applejacks party being like a round dance rolled her eyes. She was so unsure about going. She wondered if Applejack would be upset if she didn't show up. Her feelings would be hurt. How would she explain it to Applejack if she didn't go. Plus she didn't want to get dirty. She also thought having to put up with her family at the party.

"If I went then I would have to deal with all of her family members! Why do I have to do that!?" Rarity exclaimed in frustration and annoyance. Of all the ponies Applejack could have invited she invited her. She started to wonder of who else Applejack invited.

She wondered if their would be cake their. She thought of the scenario of telling Applejack but she knew that would be a bad idea as it would probably hurt Applejacks feelings. She would feel bad and embarrassed if she made Applejack cry. She loved Applejack she was just unsure of going to Applejacks party.

She wondered what time it started on. She thought on asking Applejack to find out But if she did Applejack would probably conclude that she was going to her party. Rarity rubbed her head in frustration. She was having a dilemma as she couldn't decide on going. If she didn't go then her friends would question why she didn't and that wouldn't look good for her at all. It wouldn't reflect her image either it. She always went to Pinkies parties but she always has an easy time there. She wasn't so sure of having an easy time there.

She wondered if Applejacks family would be weird. She figured her friends would go. She didn't even know what present she should get Applejack. She thought of all of all of these possibilities. She didn't need this pressure put on her. She was so undecided about it. She kept thinking on what to do. She didn't want to let Applejack down because she loved Applejack. If she skipped it she worried that it would make her look uncaring. Her mind went through her options.

She also wondered on what gift to get. She wondered if Applejack wanted an expensive gift? She didn't even know what type of gift Applejack wanted. She had no clue on where to find a good gift for Applejack either. She worried about not being able to find one if she did decide to go. Rarity was very generous. She would get anything that Applejack wanted but she just didn't know what Applejack would want.

She looked over at the clock and wondered what time Applejacks party was at. She tried to guess on how long it would be. She hoped it wasn't all day. She had to go to sleep sometime. And if it was all day she hoped she could leave without seeming rude to Applejack. She wondered how many ponies would be there. She would be surprised if Applejacks whole family was there.

Rarity finally stopped thinking whether to go or not and finally with a sigh, she decided to go as she wanted to make her friend happy and she knew that it wouldn't be to bad as her whole family was very nice. Rarity decided to go to Applejack and ask about the time. She walked to Sweet Apple Acres knowing that Applejacks party would be fun.

She also wondered if gift giving was mandatory. She would get Applejack anything since being generous was a thing that she did as it was her element. She didn't know if Applejack wanted an expensive gift or didn't mind not getting a gift. She decided to go to find Applebloom to ask when the party was. She ran to Sweet Apple Acres and she saw Applebloom. She and went up to Applebloom and asked her about the time of the party.

"What time is Applejacks party?" Rarity asked Applebloom smiled and responded to her question.

"The evening. Don't worry you have time yet." Applebloom said. Rarity then wrote that down on a note pad. She then walked back home and still thought on what to get Applejack. She was so frustrated. She got back home and sat down and closed her eyes on thought on Applejacks party. She decided to go to a store to try and see what she should get. When she got into town she started to look around at the different stores.

She looked at a jewelry place but she remembered that Applejack didn't like fancy stuff. She left in a haste shaking her head in frustration. She wondered if she could fix the gift problem by buying the most expensive gift.

Since it was a very special day for Applejack she knew what gift she would give Applejack. It was a very special gift and Rarity knew that when this gift was given to Applejack Applejack would refuse as Applejack knew that Rarity needed it. But being the generous pony that she was she got Applejack an envelope and wrote something on a sheet and put it in the envelope.

She then went back home and put the gift in an envelope. She then sealed it and put it beside her on the stand and continued to read about different sowing patterns. She was nervous about the reaction to her gift and was nervous of it being embarrassing. Soon it was time to go to Applejacks party. She got up and picked up her envelope and then took a quill and wrote Applejacks name on it. She then carried it with her magic and walked to Applejacks party.

As she walked she thought on all the possibilities of what Applejack might say about the gift that Rarity was giving her. As she walked there she looked forward her heart was beating against her chest as she thought of her gift and the party. As she got to the party Applejack and all the others met her. Rarity hugged her and gave her the envelope.

Applejack thanked her and put it on the table of gifts and letters. Rarity was anxious for the gifts. Soon Everypony was there and Rarity mostly spoke to Applejack and her friends. She looked around and saw ponies drinking apple cider and eating pie and cake. Rarity shrugged. It didn't seem that bad anymore. She just hoped there would be no dancing. She sucked at dancing.

As she was at the party she talked to her Applejack's family and Applejack. Time passed as they talked and before Rarity knew it she was enjoying herself. Her friends split up around the room as they talked to members of the Apple family.

Rarity spoke to Applejack about the presents and Applejack said that after eating they would open the presents. Rarity was very jittery as she was excited but right then and there she enjoyed the party. She finished her food slowly as they all talked merrily about the party and also teased Applejack as well.

Rarity chuckled along as she pushed her present to Applejack to the back of her mind so she could worry about it when it happens. Applejack and her family also ordered second helpings of food as all the fillies played party games. Rarity was having a blast and wondered why she worried so much in the first place. It wasn't embarrassing at all.

She hoped that Applejack would love her gift as it was a very special and valuable gift. She didn't know if Applejack would hesitate to accept it and ask Rarity to clarify the nature of the present. She knew that she had a good attitude and that Appejack would love anything that Rarity would give her. But she did know that Applejack would truly question Rarities present as it was a lot. She would be great full but she knew that Applejack would be worried for her.

Rarity and all and the Apple family talked to each other as it was almost time for present opening. Rarity couldn't contain her excitement. She tried to keep her cool. Rarity tried with all her might to enjoy the party as much as she could. She avoided dancing as she just talked to every single family member which included Applejacks cousin, Pinkie Pie

Pinkie Pie went over to talk to Applejack as Rarity blended in still worried about what Applejack thought about her present. She knew that Applejack would think that it would be to much as it honestly was. Rarity didn't care as it was Applejacks birthday and she deserved the best even if it was over the top and unnecessary.

Soon Pinkie Pie went inside Applejacks house as the party went on. Rarity poured herself some punch and drank it as she conversed with her friends. So far she liked the party. It was going the way that she wanted it to go for her. She wanted to hang with her friends and Applejack.

Soon they all got in line for lunch as they all picked what they would eat from the a table. Rarity had someone simple as she was to focused on the party. She ate it as she sat by Applejack. Applejack and Rarity both struck up a conversation but Rarity didn't say much hoping that her gift wouldn't be labeled to much which it probably will turn out to be.

They all got their food and ate away. Applejack and her friends sat at a table together. They all talked while they ate and they all talked about how their day went. They also gossiped about news stories of the town

While they were talking Pinkie got up and helped inside again. Rarity thought about the present that she got for Applejack. She knew that Applejack was going to be resistant but Rarity was going to make sure that she insisted on Applejack keeping it citing her reason as being generous.

A few others got up and went over to the drink stand to get a beverage as she got thirsty from talking and laughing. Rarity had to come up with a good excuse for giving Applejack the present that she was going to give her. A few othersgot up and went over to Applebloom.

Applebloom spoke to her and said that she was glad that Rarity came to the party as she really liked her. Rarity was so happy to hear that. She hugged Applebloom and Applejack smiled thinking that the sight was so precious.

Soon they all finished eating and the ponies got up and danced again. Rarity got up and saw Applejack. She watched her for a few minutes ad thought about her and then saw that the cake was out. She looked the cake over as she couldn't wait to have some.

She started to go to Applejack but stopped as she turned and looked at the exit. She thought of making up an excuse and leave so that she wouldn't have to explain her gift. She eyed her gift nervously. Soon some of the fillies in the Apple family were playing pin the tail on the donkey and Rarity thought it was cute.

Applejack then came to the front to make an announcement. Rarity was extremely nervous as Applejack would be opening her present and find out how much Rarity gave to her. Rarity tried to come up with a plausible argument for why Applejack should accept the money.

"Time for presents!!" Applejack called. Soon Applejack opened up presents from her friends and family. She got a book on farming from Twilight and a pie cookbook from Pinkie. She also got several other presents from her family members as well. Rarity watched Applejack open up the presents that were there.

Rarity stayed close by so that she could watch which ones Applejack opened up. When it would get to hers and open it Rarity would defend her decision of the amount of money that she was giving to her.

Soon Applejack came to Rarity's present Applejack smiled and turned to Rarity. She looked at Rarity and spoke of her present.

"Let's see what you got me!" She exclaimed. Rarities heart almost froze at those words. This was it. Rarity knew that Applejack would not accept the amount of money that Rarity was giving her. Rarity made sure that she had all her arguments defending her decision.

Applejack then opened it. Rarity took a deep breath preparing for the inevitable. Applejack opened the letter and saw the check. Her eyes widened as she saw what Rarity wrote on the check.

"Rarity you got me 150 dollars? Sweetie....Thank you but I can't accept this. Here you need this for your business." Applejack said trying to hand it back. Rarity refused as she pushed the money towards her.

"No keep it it's yours. That's your money." Rarity said trying to push it back. Applejack shook her head as she smiled. She kept trying to give it back but Rarity wouldn't let her.

"I can't take this money from you Rarity." Applejack said shaking her head. Rarity responded almost to dramatically.

"Yes you can!! You can take this money from me. Please it's yours. It's not much so take it." Rarity said insisting she take it. Applejack sighed and looked at the amount as she felt moved by Rarities generosity.

She hugged Rarity and then broke away from the hug as she looked at the amount one more time and spoke to her friend.

"I'll take it." Thank you so much Rarity! You are so generous! Are you sure you have enough to take care of yourself?" Applejack asked. Rarity nodded.

"Yes I have enough to take care of myself and purchase other practical items it's okay. I'm sorry for reacting like that when you were refusing at first." Rarity said. Applejack shook her head and decided to take some of the money and give it back to Rarity while keeping the rest for herself. Rarity smiled and decided to give in but made sure that Applejack kept most of it. Applejack hugged her.

"Thank you so much Rarity! Your forgiven." Applejack said in appreciation. Rarity smiled as she hugged back and all of their friends watched the tender moment in front of them. Rarity and Applejack broke away from the hug. Rarity was so glad that she came.

I'm happy that you came. We all are." Applejack said. All of their friends nodded in agreement. Rarity smiled as she got tears of happiness in her eyes. She spoke in a very emotional voice.

"Thank you!" Rarity exclaimed. Soon after that Applejack finished up opening presents and ponies danced for a while. After that they all cleaned up and put everything away as ponies walked back home. Rarity went to Applejack once again. All of their freinds joined them and they all talked to them both for a while and then went off to their homes.

Thanks for the present and showing up." Applejack said holding her money carefully. Rarity smiled.

"Your welcome." Rarity said. Soon they went on to topics about upcoming sports games in Equestria and talked about how much fun they had. Applejack came up to her place and turned around and hugged Rarity.

"See you tomorrow." She said. Rarity smiled and breathed as she melted into the hug.

See you then!" She said. Applejack walked up to Sweet Apple Acres and Rarity walked home. As she got home Sweetie Belle was already there washing her face off as she had cake on it. Rarity sat down as she was happy that she could make it to her friends birthday party. It was a good day indeed.
