FlutterElla (A Cinderella FlutterCord Tale)
She slowly opened her eyes as the sun leaked into her room. Sighing as she sat up in bed, looking around at her small dusty room high in
the attic. Her pink mane covering half her beautiful face as she moved to stretch. Nothing had changed. Knowing she had yet another
wonderful dream. A dream that she could go to a party with an elegant dress and dance with a smile on her face with the stallion of her
dreams. He would whisper her name in the loving way she always dreamed.
"Flutter--"
"FLUTTERELLA!!!"
Snapping out of her memories of her dream, she once more heard the ear piercing cries of her two step sisters. Calling her that name
she so hated. Once she was moved to the attic after her father died, her two annoying step sisters took it upon themselves of giving her
the nickname. Based on the name Cinderella, a book her father used to read to her so many times when she was a filly. A fairytale she
used to love and daydream that the pictures would come to life as her father read every word. Now everyday for the past twelve years,
every time she heard her new name called, she wished so much that those memories disappear from her mind.
Her sisters didn't call her the name thinking she was a lucky mare. No, they called her that knowing they were throwing those memories
back at her. Mocking her with the name and story that she would never live. She was doomed for all her life to live as their maid with no
happy ending in sight.
FlutterShy, having no other choice, got out of bed. Peeking out of her window sang a small tune and waited. Soon enough two birds came
to her and repeated the tune. She giggled and held out a hoof for them to sit on.
"Good Morning Crystal and Jack." She said with a smile. Carefully she brought them inside with her. Sitting them on the end of her bed
frame.
From underneath her bed came out a small white bunny looking sleepy as he smiled up at the three of them. FlutterShy whispered a
"Good Morning Angel." As she walked by and reached behind the clothes hanging in her small closet. She pulled out two small bags full of
bird food and some carrots. Turning around she poured some bird food in a small bowl for Crystal and Jack. Handing a carrot over to
Angel bunny which he quickly began gobbling up causing her back away quickly.
Smiling she began singing her small tune again, this time using her full voice to sing more notes. As she sang, she twirled around as she
took a old ragged dress that she's used to as her daily clothes.
Once changed, she smiled at her reflection in the mirror as her bird friends helped hold her messy mane up as she tied it up in a ponytail.
Angel bunny hopped up upon her back, tying her back dress strings. Content with her look for the day she turned.
"Oh Thank you. I appreciate the help." She said with a smile.
"FLUTTERELLA! GET DOWN HERE AND MAKE OUR BREAKFAST ALREADY!!" She heard one of her sisters yell again at the top of her lungs.
"Oh dear, I better get down there. Sounds like they are getting restless." FlutterShy said as she looked toward the door. "I must go now,
my friends." She said looking back at them. They gave a look of concern, as they always did everyday. Crystal and Jack tweeted some
words to her as Angel nodded his head in agreement.
FlutterShy gave a warm smile. "Thank you my friends. Without your help everyday, I don't know what I'd do. Let's work hard again today,
but remember to keep out of sight. You know they aren't fond of animals." She said.
With that she quickly ran out of her room to her snobby family below. Fluttershy got to work quickly in the kitchen, working hard to make
her food not only meet her family's commands, but also elegant enough that they were like royalty.
While her family had money, they dared not waste any on Fluttershy who was more of a maid than a daughter as well.
FlutterShy sighed as soon as her food preparation was done. She felt exhausted already but her daily chores had only begun.
"FLUTTERELLA!" She heard her step sisters yell in unison.
She squealed nervously as she quickly placed the three plates of food on a tray and held it on one hoof. She walked up the long staircase
to her first step sisters room. SilverSpoon sat up in her bed, holding a book open. She quickly turned to see Fluttershy when she heard
her door creak. "Finally! How long does it take to make food!?" She asked Fluttershy as she threw her book aside. "Good morning
SilverSpoon" Fluttershy said "How are you this-" but before she ask her question SilverSpoon cut her off. "I'm hungry! What do you
think!?" She said gesturing to the food in Fluttershy's hand.
"Oh yes, um here you go" Fluttershy said quietly as she reached for the first plate and placing it on the small table sitting by her sister's
bedside table. SilverSpoon reached for her cup of tea and glared at FlutterShy who was still standing there. "Why are you still here
FlutterElla!? That's all! Now get out!" She said harshly before taking her sip of tea. Fluttershy shrunk back at her words saying a small
"enjoy your breakfast" as she let her room.
She walked next door and knocked on the door before peeking in. "Morning Diamond Tiara" She said softly. Seeing her second step sister
standing by her window. She turned around to face Fluttershy, wearing her night robe over her nightgown. "This is the kind of service I'm
stuck with?! If I was in the palace, like I deserve, I would have had breakfast by now!" She ranted as she glared at FlutterShy.
"Well..its just that the food takes a lot of ingredi-" Fluttershy started to say as she placed her plate on her table. Diamond Tiara trotted up
to FlutterShy, towering over her as she again shrank back in fear. "I don't care! Just make sure you get it here faster! Stop wasting your
time with this that don't matter and focus on things that do! Like me! Now get out FlutterElla!" With that Fluttershy turned around and ran
out of her room, closing her door.
Once out, Fluttershy slowly walked to the last room at the end of the hall. One she disliked going to more than her sisters. Her step
mother Fleur de lis. She didn't say anything to Fluttershy much in the morning, but she still hates the air in the room, so she likes to get it
done quickly. She took a breath and knocked on the door and walked in. "Morning step mother" she said. "I've brought your breakfast
and tea." She placed her plate and tea on her table. She looked over at her step mother, who was sitting in her bed. She didn't have an
expression which usually means anything. "Thank you FlutterElla, that will be all. But you were a bit late this time." Fleur said.
FlutterShy suddenly felt that fear creeping back again. "Well I-" before she could speak, Fleur held up a hoof for her to be quiet.
"I expect you to be up an hour earlier to keep on time from now on. And you have to go to the market today and get more food today
along with your other chores." she said. Fluttershy could swear she saw a small smile of satisfaction on her face. "But I already have so much-"
"Quiet! That's all for now! Get to work!" She yelled. And with that, Fluttershy left quickly to head to the market.
