A Big, Bad Decision
Spike, Too
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSpike walked down the street, his scales glimmering. He had finally gotten them polished and sharpened. He had pleaded with Twilight for days until she gave him the bits to do so. The day had finally, finally come, and Spike rounded the corner. Sugar Cube Corner was not far. I've got a few bits left, I could get a cupcake. Spike reasoned. Twilight wants change back. The more logical side of him argued. Twilight doesn't know how much scale polishing or sharpening is. Spike settled on that, because he really wanted something sugary. he hopped up the small, tattered stairs and pushed the bottom half open. He walked in nonchalantly, and walked over to the glass case, displaying all the sweets the bakery had to offer. "Hey Pinks!" Spike yelled. The door to the employees room opened, and a pink mare hopped out. "Hiya Spike!" She said, a bit too enthusiastically. Spike smiled. He suddenly stopped. "Hey, wait a minute! Shouldn't you be preparing for the thing with the changelings in Canterlot?" Pinkie nodded, her head going down to he knees. She fell forwards, and tripped. "Okay, so, that got boring. And, neither Mrs or Mister cake were going to be here, and they need to keep the house!" Pinkie stood up, on two legs. "What can' I get ya?" She asked, like a New Horser. Spike laughed. "Have you had a New Horse City brownie?" Pinkie asked. "Everything about it is chocolate. The egg used are inserted with chocolate right as they leave the chicken! Hah! Then they refrigerate it, and-" Spike stopped her. "I want a cupcake." Pinkie stopped, and ran to the kitchen. She held a bottle, with a liquid that was exactly her coat color. Pinkie handed him a box of a baker's dozen cupcakes. She smiled. "On the house."
Spike left happily. He paid for one cupcake, and got twelve free ones! And a complimentary drink! Today had been great! Spike kept walking. He reminded himself Twilight wasn't going to be home for at least five days. he kept walking, and approached the castle. A pile of about twelve comic books sat by the mailbox. His comics came in! Today had been amazing, and it wasn't even eleven o' clock yet. He knew the crusaders had also been to Sugar Cube Corner, and that's the reason there was icing on the wall. He also knew Twllight had allowed the crusaders to spend an hour or so at the castle, and he would likely have some cleaning up to do. But that wasn't so bad, compared to his morning. Spike searched the buildng, finding nothing was out of place, not a single dust bunny. Other than the fridge, it was empty. oh well. He'd send a letter to Twilight, she could bring home some food from Canterlot. For now, he could have the cupcakes, maybe later ask Big Mac for something to eat later on.
The crusaders ran past Spike, he was completely oblivious to them. They had something in their mouths. Spike dismissed this, and sat down at a small table, carved from the tree. The cupcakes looked absolutely delicious. Pinkie had poured some of the pink liquid on it, and Spike didn't worry about it. She's a baker, she knows exactly what she's doing. Spike daintily bit into the first cupcake, and peeled off the wrapper delicately. The flavor hit his taste buds and he wolfed down the cupcake. It was absolutely delicious! It was like Pinkie had taken every sort of gem and strategically placed it, on the cupcake, with lots ,lots of icing, so the shards would hit the important taste buds. Spike temporarily reached enlightenment, until he swallowed it and the taste subsided. He ripped off the wrappers, and shoved another cupcake down his throat. He had eleven cupcakes left, why not have more? He reasoned. Desire held logic captive, and Spike succumbed to his hunger. The cupcakes were packed with sugar, and had an extremely unhealthy amount of calories each, he had eaten around a week's worth of fat, sugar, and carbs with five cupcakes. Without a second thought, he ate the rest, and burped after finishing the last one. He turned to the drink, and let it slide down his throat. The drink was so much better! It was like the cupcake, mixed with mountains of gems, and tubs of icing. Spike found himself salivating, so he licked his mouth and kept drinking. Spike daydreamed about digging into piles of gems, thousands of ponies high. He plucked clean every mountain, and no icing tub was dirty. And the bottle wasn't even half empty.
Spike finished off the heavenly bottle, and started walking around. He was going to get more cupcakes, and especially more of that drink. In a bit of a trance, he tripped and fell into a room with an open door. He was eye level with bottles and bottles of the pinkie-pie pink liquid. He scooped them up, and started running up the stairs, feeling more powerful, oddly. Spike put the bottles in his room, and jumped down the stairs to get his comics. Spike was absolutely giddy, there was enough of the drink to give two bottles to everypony in Ponyville! And if in those boxes, had the same drink, everypony in Canterlot! Spike landed on his bed after a powerful jump, and the mattress creaked a lot more than usual. He gave that no attention, as he opened up his comic.
Power Ponies #121
POWER PONIES IN: A GROWING PROBLEM!
Spike excitedly began to read, taking the cork out of one of the bottles. He took a sip, and kept reading.
The Masked Matter-Horn paced the room. Her team mates were in another room, likely arguing about the best slushee flavor, as that was what they were arguing about after they defeated Sizeous Slime. Sizeous could control how big they were, and were made of slime. Matter-horn had finally popped Sizeous, as the others were protected behind a wall. Masked had gotten covered in slime. Masked was pacing, because she was nervous. That was never a good thing. Masked had sat down on a chair earlier, and it collapsed. She was a foot taller then normal, and had a growth spurt, albeit a very unnatural one.
Spike was oblivious to the foreshadowing.
Masked thanked Celestia for the fact her friends were so distracted. Masked kept pacing, her horn beginning to use magic, then suddenly stopping. Masked was just so worried, she couldn't use magic straight. Think, Matter, think! Her brain screamed. Masked sat down, and surveyed her options.
1) Tell her friends. Get their help.
2) Go to Celestia.
Masked laughed. Celestia wouldn't care about her problem!
3) Take a bath, and hope the slime and growth go away
4) Find a sciency spell to get rid of the growth
Or...
5) Live with the growth. Maybe grow taller.
Masked shuddered at the thought.
Masked kept pacing, failing to notice the ground became farther and farther away. Spike paused from his comic book, to drink the rest of the first bottle. Both the chair Masked sat on and Spike's bed began to creak and grown under their growing weight, neither taking notice. Spike opened the next bottle, and continued reading. Masked got up, and looked at a mirror. Another foot! But the growth was warm and inviting, Masked's joints cracking and growing, as her body needed to adjust to the bigger pony. Spike's body did the same, the potion providing him extra calories, and enlarging his body.
The bed groaned, shifting under his quickly-growing weight. Masked trotted from the side of the room back to the other, finding it took less and less time with each round. Finally, her horn hit the ceiling. Masked realized the growth, and gave in to it's tempting promises. It was bliss, and Masked shot up, destroying the ceiling. Lights fell and crashed, and the arguing in the other room stopped. The team ran into the room next to them, and found the leader, masked, was ten feet tall. Her frame kept widening, as her body pushed outward, destroying the room in several more seconds.
Spike downed the second bottle and started the third. Pink liquid cascaded down his throat, making him absolutely giddy. He finished the bottle. Spike kept drinking, until there were six or seven empty bottles on the floor.
Masked's horn flared to life, the adrenaline mixing with dopamine and she accepted the growth spurt. Her horn's aura grew stronger, and it stabilized. Suddenly, a ten foot tall purplish unicorn was gone. Masked teleported. Filli-second ran down 78 blocks, until she found Masked. "Matter-matter-matter hooooorn!" She yelled. Masked looked at her. Masked shut her eyes, and concentrated. Her body floated up, her magic holding her, allowing her to fly. She attempted to follow Filli-second back to the base. Her teammates had a variety of reactions, but all came to the conclusion they needed to help their leader. There were eleven bottles on the floor, Spike could have fed himself and maybe canterlot for the next two months with all the sugar and carbs packed into the bottles.
The bed could take no more, and it collapsed. Spike jumped, and the comic fell to the floor. Spike tentatively got off the bed, and realized he was a lot bigger. Before hand, he was a few inches taller than the mattress in the box spring, but now, he was around four foot, the tip of the ear of the average mare. And that didn't count his shiny scales poking from his head.
Spike kept growing, every moment was bliss. The potion went down to his stomach, where it combined with any calorie it could find. it made a chemical reaction, and released adrenaline and dopamine, encouraging his body to keep growing. And the growth was like a comforting tingling, it was warm, a pleasurable feeling. Spike's body grew forwards and up, layers of muscle growing, his bones becoming bigger to support a creature of his size. He was now standing up, and his joints cracked, and grew. Spike had been twisting around, trying to find some sort of mirror. Then, two spots on his back began to hurt. A foreign limb sprouted from the spots, and revealed themselves to be wings. Spike grunted, finding the growth feel amazing. Spike looked around, realizing he would destroy the room he was in if he stayed in the room and the growth spurt persisted.
He experimentally flapped his wings, growing bigger and more powerful by the second. His instincts kicked in and he tried to fly out of the window, the chance of that happening lowering and lowering. He backed up, flapped his wings, and ran forward, jumping right before he reached the window. He glided out of the castle, and landed. Most ponies had gone to the Changeling Friendship Inaguration in Canterlot,so maybe Berry Punch saw him. He went to the Ponyville Market, usually with twelve to fifteen stands with twenty to forty ponies, had three stands and two ponies. Spike wandered around, and was silently glad he had lived in Ponyville for so long, that ponies gave him the benefit of the doubt, assuming he wouldn't eat them. Spike leaned down, and his stomach grumbled it's approval of the pies the stand had to offer. The vendor, pushed a pie forward, and backed up slowly, before running off. He had left a big container of bits. Spike knew this vendor to cheat his customers and sell things for over four times the original price, so using those bits would be doing the economy a favor. Spike ate the pie, and the other three on display. Spike's stomach looked a bit rounder, but still demanded food. Spike scrounged the stand, finding lots of pies, cherries, and other foods.
The dragon wandered to the other stands, and one of the ponies thanked him for scaring off the other vendor. Spike laughed, and bought all the food the pony's stand had. She thanked him, and he moved on to the next stand. Spike sold out the last stand, and gave half of the bits he had left to the two vendors, of whom were delighted. Spike could feel himself shooting up, and then slowly inching. Spike flew around, and then glanced at his stomach. The drink combined with carbs, and made him grow. The fatter he was, the more he could grow. And right now, his stomach was bulging out from his body. It flopped every time he walked, and was big enough that gravity had it hang by his knees. Spike had eaten four hundred pounds of food in that day, the cupcakes and the drink being twenty-five pounds, somewhere around there. He looked around, knowing more food would lead to the warm growth. The Burger place! He forgot the name, but there must have been food there.
Spike flapped his wings. The burger place was a bit of a fly, but his wings should be able to take it. He backed up a bit, and flapped his wings, running, running, and flew. Spike laughed, as he suddenly went backwards. His legs had stretched, and he felt another spurt. He closed his eyes, as he shot forward, his head a third as big. Spike laughed, and shouted, as the potion kept mixing with carbs. The massive amount of bulk in his stomach slowly becoming him, but bigger. Spike landed, right outside the burger place. He held out a few bits to a worker who had walked outside. Spike found a bunch of hamburger buns, cooked and uncooked patties, and pretty much any other food the restaurant had to offer, all going inside his mouth. He savored every piece, feeling his stomach inflate as he ate. Spike laughed, his klutzy laugh, and kept eating. Spike felt as his stomach flopped around, quietly but steadily expanding and going downwards. Spike had another cooked patty, and ate the last of the food. It was all reject, or dropped on the ground, or burnt. Spike laughed, and then felt a tightness in his stomach. It traveled from his stomach to his mouth, when he burped.
The worker held his head with his hoof and went inside.
Spike felt so good. The growth was warm and inviting. Spike wondered for a few seconds where there would be more food. he wondered about any other foods he hadn't eaten yet...
apples.
Spike flapped his mighty wings again, displacing air and sending a small filly flying, until she landed in a tree. "I wanna do that again!" She yelled. Spike smiled, and took off. Spike kept flying, as he looked down at his stomach, flopping wildly the faster he went. It was so big. He realized. He was big. he was strong. He was powerful. Spike landed, and found there had been about two hundred trees ripped out of the ground. Spike frowned, knowing these tress were the main source of income for the apples. Two hundred trees! Spke looked around, finding apples with worms in them littered across the ground.
Spike spent the next half hour attempting to plant any seeds he found. Big Mac eventually came along, and calmly planted seeds with him. "Hey Mac." He said eventually. "Are you not going to even question how tall I am?" He said, skeptically. He laughed. "You're a dragon. Dragons grow, right?" he said, nonchalantly. Spike shrugged, laughed, and kept planting.
The seeds had been planted, and Spike waved to Big Mac. Spike flew around for a bit, before realizing he was hungry. He flew back to Sweet Apple Acres, Big Mac grinning as she held a wagon of apples. Silently, he pushed toward him, and it stopped a few feet from his feet. Mac headed back inside, as the pleasant feeling flooded his senses, and Spike's stomach quickly grew bigger. Spike ate some more apples.
Spike ate.
And ate, and ate, and ate. and ate more. Spike felt himself expanding, growing taller, as the carbs quickly became his body. Spike looked down, slowing his pace, as he slowly but steadily inched upward. but if he stuffed a bunch of bruised, old, and wormy apples into his mouth at once, he would shoot up, his joints cracking and the muscle growing outwards. It felt amazing! Spike laughed, as he was four feet taller than when he was planting. Big Mac would be shocked!
Spike ate the last of the discarded apples, the warm feeling subtly subsiding, leaving Spike to feel cold. He kept flying, finding his wings would shoot out every so often, and his flapping would displace more air, once knocking a poor bird out of the air. Spike kept flying, kept flying, until there was a big area where nobody lived. He assumed nopony would be there, so he relaxed and ate the little fruits off trees, until there were none left. Now, he was probably as tall as town hall, after having one major growth spurt mid-air. His legs had shot out five feet, two feet of muscle quickly being added to his powerful limbs. He had screamed and cheered, before flapping his wings even more and doing a dive-bomb.
He scared several griffons out of their minds. After they demanded he apologize, he took off again after eating more. It was the present, and getting darker outside. Spike gazed upon what he found. The Plains of Gobella. Gobella was an ancient Philliosopher, who theorized a whole bunch of stuff and set the foundation for modern pony science. She theorized friendship was key to growth and prosperity. Spike stood in the plains. The plains are so beautiful.
