The sun was bright on Sweet Apple Acres and all was completely quiet. That was until Apple Bloom woke up. She began to bounce across the room, running down the hall to her sister's room where she laid asleep with a smile on her face. The younger filly was there to ruin every dream she held and lunged on the broken bed and onto Apple jack, her high pitched voice squealing out almost like Sweatie Belle's.
"Apple Jack! Apple Jack! Wake up! C'mon wake up! We gotta get goin' if we wanna catch the train!" She continued to bounce before she was shoved off by Apple Jack. She sat up quickly, looking dizzily around the room.
"Apple Bloom! What in the name of Celestia are you doin'. Near scared me half to death!" She scowled her younger sister before getting to her feet.
"But-But! Appaloosa! We gotta go to Appaloosa! I marked on my wall! We gotta hurry up, sis! Wait! I'll go wake up Big Mac!" She quickly left her confused sister in the room, screaming in the halls for Big Mac to get up and Granny Smith. Apple Jack just gave a sigh and shook her head.
Big Mac carried a load of luggage on his back, walking out the back of the barn as the other three followed behind. Apple Jack looked down at her little sister, giving a small grin. "It's a good thing you woke up that early, Apple Bloom, I'd have forgotten and slept right through it!" She moved to press her hoof against her main, ruffling up the filly's red hair. She pulled back and laughed along.
"Hey, Apple Jack, because you love me a lot, do you know if Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo come along?" Apple Bloom looked up at her big sister with big eyes and a wide smile, trying to tempt her into saying yes.
Apple Jack laughed and pushed her head back playfully. "Sure... I don't see why not, Apple Bloom..." And just as soon as the words escaped her mouth, two fillies came bouncing out of a near by brush, packed and ready. Apple Jack was more surprised than suspicious, "Have y'all two been hiding in them bushes the entire time?"
Sweetie Belle gave a nod as Scootaloo spoke for her, "Yeah! Since last night! We heard Apple Bloom mention it yesterday so we just camped out here!"
"Scootaloo was so scared!" Sweetie Belle giggled, covering her mouth with a hoof. Scootaloo got defensive and barked at her, her wings open and flapping angrily, getting a small lift off the ground.
"Was not! You're the one squeaking all night!"
"That's because you scared me when you jumped!"
"Well- Next time keep your hooves to yourself!"
The continued their bickering, pressing the tips of their noses together in anger as they yelled. Apple Jack rolled her eyes once more. Apple Bloom did the same, going up to the two and pushing them apart. "Do y'all really wanna ruin this small trip with your nonsense quarrel? I say we head out and catch the train before it leaves us behind and we don't go to Appaloosa!"
Both of the fillies look at each other in confusion before following Apple Jack, Granny Smith, and Big Mac down the road and to the train.
Upon arriving, the fillies ran in, pushing against Big Macintosh, nearly causing him to fall over with his luggage. He simply furrowed his brows and huffed at the three before walking in and putting the items away. Sitting on one of the seats and looking out, Apple Jack gave a small sigh. She looked next to her to see Apple Bloom.
"Uh... Apple Jack? You alright?" She asked, putting both hooves on the seat, her face lined with worry.
"I'm fine. Just... Thinkin' y'know? Who am I kiddin' of course you don't know! Fillies like you don't think!" She then grinned, reaching over to pull Apple Bloom in, but she squirmed again, getting away. "Hey! You can't get away from me!" The orange mare stood up and trotted over to chase after her little sister and the other fillies, laughing to herself.
The train started with a loud whistle as the engine began to hum to life, the bolts and gears of the train creating a rhythmic beat. After a long while of kidding and running about the cart, the group managed calmed themselves down as the all sat in their own little sections; Apple Jack was looking out the window as she saw the houses dispersed to trees then to an open field, Big Mac was sleeping on the bench, snoring quietly to himself, Granny was reading a book with her glasses placed just on the edge of her nose, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders were settle down, whispering to themselves and talking about what they were going to do once they reached Appaloosa.
The train slowed to a halt as a stallion called off the stop to Appaloosa. The Apple family and the Cutie Mark Crusaders woke up from their nap, all groggy and still tired before they forced themselves on their hooves to exit the train. Big Mac hauled every little thing his family owned on his back, once standing on the platform, his legs trembled and collapsed under him. Apple Jack only gave a tired smile and picked up some of the luggage Big Mac couldn't carry, trotting off.
The Cutie Mark Crusaders instantly inflated with life, ears perked, legs straight and eyes shining brighter than the Appaloosa sun. The three fillies didn't dare give Apple Jack any means of farewell as they bolted from the patio of the Station to the harsh sandy ground, heading to the town to see one pony in particular.
Apple Jack would have called out, but simply shook her head, putting her hat back on her head to protect herself as she trotted off to the nearest hotel to unpack.
