Midnight Sparkle's Final Battleby Fable SparksChaptersSunset Shimmer and Princess CelestiaThe Humane 5 Discover Their PowersSunset Shimmer, Twilight Sparkle and Midnight SparkleA Happy (and SunNight) EndingSunset Shimmer and Princess CelestiaSunset Shimmer awoke after being knocked out for a while. The last thing she remembered seeing was Twilight's transformation into her twisted other self, and the last thing she heard was the laughter of her enemy, Midnight Sparkle. "S-Sunset? Is that you?" a mysterious voice called. Sunset got up to turn around, and saw the figure of an equine being with a long, pointed horn, two large wings and a long, benevolent mane. Sunset recognised this figure immediately as Princess Celestia of Equestria. "Princess Celestia?! But...HOW?! How come you haven't changed form." Sunset asked in shock and awe, having not seen the Alicorn for quite some time. Celestia looked at the chaotic scenery around her, then turned back to her former student. "This world's Twilight Sparkle has destroyed the barrier between our worlds. Now, humans and equines can interact with one another without them changing their physical appearance." At the mention of Twilight's name, Sunset's expression turned to one of anger and sadness. "That isn't Twilight...not anymore. There's only Midnight Sparkle now." Meanwhile, Midnight looked around her with a madwoman's grin streaking across her face. All around her, ponies and humans were running screaming in fear, trying to get away. Since barriers had been broken, and after manifesting her strength within Twilight, she was able to take on new magical strengths and map them onto whatever she chose. With that, she generated a large magical dome, sealing everybody and everypony inside of it. She could take all the magic she wanted to, and could rule both worlds with a terrifying ease. "There's no time now! She's beginning to drain the magical energies from my subjects, I CANNOT let her get away with this!" Celestia cried out as she flew up to the now-corrupted Twilight. "Midnight Sparkle, you have to stop this!" Midnight looked at Celestia, the purple pupils of her eyes having shrunken down to the point where she could be seen as clinically insane. She reached out a hand to Celestia, stroking her mane as if she were a pet. "Awww...aren't you a pretty little pony?" Midnight said in a sinister low tone, which unsettled Celestia, who flew out of Midnight's grasp. Celestia charged some magic into her horn, causing Midnight to reel backwards in wait, to see if the magic would do anything. Sure enough, it did, blasting the demoness in the face. Celestia grinned, believing she stalled Midnight enough so that she could rally her castle's guard. Midnight, however, was merely distracted. "So, pretty pony wants to play rough, huh? I'LL SHOW YOU TRUE POWER!" Midnight's horn began to pulsate as her hands began to glow blue. Celestia looked back in fear as Midnight brought her hands together to form a large magic beam that was aimed right at her. She tried to fly away, but Midnight's eyes were locked onto her, and the beam slammed into her with a perfect accuracy. Celestia was sent into the ground with a large explosion, as Midnight trailed the beam along her in a circle, creating a wall of flame around herself. Sunset rushed over to the wounded Celestia. "Are you OK?" Sunset pulled Celestia out of the pit Midnight had forced her into. "Please Celestia...we need your help..." Celestia coughed before uttering the words "You must...find...the crystals..." Sunset looked confused as her friends rallied around "Crystals?" she asked, wondering what Celestia was talking about. "Celestia, what crystals are you talking about?" "This world contains seven crystals, very much like Equestria's Elements of Harmony. If you gather them, you may be able to defeat Midnight and restore your world's Twilight to normal" Celestia spoke, before getting on her four hooves and walking the other way. "I must help my subjects." Celestia then left to a group of ponies cowering away from Midnight in fear. "So, we need to find these crystals to save Twilight?" Pinkie Pie asked, while simultaneously eating a s'more. Sunset nodded, and turned to her friends. "Well, I guess we have some magical crystals to find so we can restore the barrier between worlds and defeat Midnight Sparkle!" The Humane 5 Discover Their PowersSunset and the others scattered in search of the seven crystals that Celestia had spoken of. They hoped that, if they were acquired and combined with the Magic of Friendship, they could defeat the ever-growing-stronger Midnight. "Oooh! A crystal thingy!" Pinkie called out, extracting a pink crystal from an abandoned burrow behind some bushes. How she so easily found the crystal was beyond Sunset's judgement, but considering it WAS Pinkie, it was plausible. Midnight however, wasn't completely oblivious to their plan. If anything, she had listened in the whole time, and was not going to allow her second defeat to happen. "Oh no! You are NOT going to defeat me!" Midnight cried out as she blasted her magic near Pinkie's feet, sending the girl tumbling, and Pinkie's sprinkle box falling and spilling it's contents. Midnight loomed over Pinkie Pie, ready to finish her off "Looks like the party's OVER FOR YOU!!!" Midnight spoke as she charged her magic once more. Pinkie grabbed some of the spilled sprinkles and threw them at Midnight in the hopes of throwing her off her aim. The sprinkles flashed for a split second and then...exploded. "GAH!!! What was that?" Midnight cried out as she held her hands over her eyes. Pinkie's crystal began to glow, and she made the connection. "SUNSET! THE CRYSTALS ARE GIVING US NEW POWERS!!" she called out, catching Sunset's attention. This discovery made the crystals even more important as they granted new magical abilities. Pinkie placed some more sprinkles on her hand and tossed them at Midnight once more, temporarily blinding her with their flashy explosions. The rest of her friends, however, were less fortunate in finding them, all because they didn't have Pinkie Pie's luck. As Midnight recovered, she turned her attention to Fluttershy, who was searching some bushes for her crystal. "Well, well, well, if it isn't poor, defenceless Fluttershy!!!" she called out, causing Fluttershy to fall backwards into a bush. Suddenly, a yellow glow came from behind her. It was her crystal! Fluttershy eagerly grabbed it, and began to ponder what her ability would be as Midnight found her and grabbed her by the waist, lifting her into the air. "So, you think that you can stop ME?! Well, you're more foolish than you th-" Before Midnight could finish, she was tackled and pinned to the ground by some random bear that began trying to claw her face. Fluttershy's crystal began to glow, and she realised she could communicate with animals, and used this power to send some friendly burrow-diggers to help get the trapped people and ponies out of Midnight's grasp. As Midnight struggled to get the bear off of her chest (quite literally, it was crushing her), Rarity slowly searched for her crystal, too concerned about her clothes' safety than the task at hand. Soon enough, she found a glowing diamond next to one of the burrows dug on Fluttershy's request. "YES!! I found it! Now, I wonder what it'll let me do..." Rarity spoke to herself as Midnight was finally getting the bear off of her. She tossed the bear in Rarity's direction, and as Rarity used her arms to shield her face, a large diamond-like dome appeared around her, causing the bear to slide harmlessly to the other side and run into the woods. "Oh wow, a shield. No need for sunscreen anymore!" Midnight got up, looking tattered and beaten. "Note to self...after I'm done here, go and finish off that bear.." She then turned her attention to Applejack, who was climbing up a tree to find her crystal. "Applejack...this should be easy enough" Midnight spoke quietly as she went up to the tree and began to blast at the roots in the hopes of knocking it down. "Come down and let me finish you!" Midnight yelled as she continued blasting into the ground. Applejack's hand began to glow upon grabbing something, and then turned to her once-good friend. "Not without a fight, I ain't!" Applejack jumped down and punched Midnight Sparkle square in the face, causing her to reel back in pain and not notice Rainbow Dash uncover her crystal as well. "Rainbow Dash, look out!" AJ called to her buddy as Midnight opened one of her eyes and saw Rainbow Dash with a glowing crystal. Rainbow Dash decided to take a leaf out of Applejack's book and ran toward Midnight, reaching supersonic speeds in a split second, jumping up and delivering a good kick to Midnight's cheek, causing the demon to go down into the ground. There was only one person left who hadn't discovered her crystal, and that was Sunset Shimmer. Sunset Shimmer, Twilight Sparkle and Midnight SparkleSunset looked Midnight in the eyes, and tried to plead to her. "Twilight, PLEASE!! I know you're in there!! You have to fight her!" she cried out, hoping that Midnight would realise that what she is doing isn't right. Meanwhile, inside Midnight's mind, she was fighting another battle. A battle with Twilight Sparkle. "Please, you can't control me Midnight! They need me." Twilight spoke as tears came to her eyes "Sunset needs me..." "Oh, what does it matter?! You've lost to me already, why do you care about Miss Bacon Head down there?!" Midnight asked, curious as to why she was still blabbering to Twilight. "Because...because...I love her! And I'm NOT willing to give up because of you!" Twilight went toward Midnight and grabbed her tightly, wishing to defeat her inner demons herself. Back in the real world, Sunset grabbed Midnight's arm and suddenly found herself inside her mind. In it, she saw Twilight and Midnight fighting one another. "STOP!!!" Both Sparkles turned their heads to Sunset, who was clearly distraught over the whole affair. She approached Midnight, trying her best not to look at Twilight as it would likely bring her to tears. "Midnight, PLEASE let Twilight go! I need her to be with me!" Midnight looked at Twilight, then back at Sunset. "Oh, as much as I would like to, I'm NOT going to! HAHA!" Midnight laughed as she disintegrated Twilight's figure, erasing her from existence. "Now Twilight is gone forever, and there's nothing you can do to stop me!!!" Midnight continued to cackle until Sunset violently grabbed her by the throat. "Hey...what are you...doing?!" Sunset looked at her with a face of rage. "You took her away...now you're FINISHED!!!" Sunset was away to put Midnight out of her misery, but then she realised. Killing her greatest enemy wouldn't be worth it. It would simply bring back the evil that she has so desperately tried to keep locked away. Sunset loosened her grip on Midnight's neck. "You know, maybe I just need to treat you like Twilight." Sunset said as a small smile went on her face. Midnight stepped back, a clear blush going across her face. "A-And how do you treat her?" Sunset approached Midnight, holding her hands. In the real world, both Sunset and Midnight were surrounded by a sphere of energy. "I treat her like the woman I always wanted." Before Midnight knew it, Sunset had kissed her full on the lips. She had no clue on how to react to this, but proceeded forward because she also enjoyed the moment. The orb of energy exploded and Sunset floated back down, accompanied by a strange figure that looked somewhat like a cross between Midnight Sparkle and Twilight. A Happy (and SunNight) Ending"What is SHE doing here?" Rainbow Dash asked Sunset. "I thought you wanted her rid of!" "I know, that's what I DID want. Then I realised, if I destroy her, she takes Twilight with her." Sunset said as she patted Midnight's back, putting a gentle smile on the she-demon's face. "Thanks Sunset" Midnight spoke as she looked to the other people and ponies around her. "I'm REALLY sorry for what I did...and I don't blame you for not wanting to forgive me." Midnight looked down as a small tear went down her cheek. Princess Celestia appeared briefly to say one last little thing "The barrier between dimensions is restoring itself. I must leave." She turned to Sunset Shimmer "Thank you for what you did today, Sunset. And as for you, Midnight, I truly hope you can achieve redemption and friendship" Princess Celestia soon faded away, having gone back to Equestria alongside her other subjects. Midnight decided to enter a tent and look into a mirror. She saw herself for the first time, a changed she-demon. She looked strikingly similar to Twilight, other than the eyes, glasses and hair colour. She smiled. "Wow...I could get used to looking like this" she began to lay herself down on the bed behind her, stretching her arms and legs, until somebody walked in, startling Midnight. "Hey Midnight. I see you're getting comfortable" Sunset said as she hung her hooded jumper on a clothesline. "Well, yeah. Still trying to get used to this body. You know, no wings or horn or anything like that." Midnight pondered her thoughts before looking at Sunset, smirking. "Maybe you can teach me?" Sunset stopped as her cheeks turned red. "S-Sure...I can teach you." she sat down next to Midnight, putting her arms around her. Both girls smiled as they exchanged a slow, smooth kiss, and did whatever else two girls in love would do
