Alien VS Predator: Equestrian Hymn
The Strange Device
Load Full StoryNext ChapterThe Predator walked alongside his companion, Youngblood.
“Can't wait to get home. See the wife and kids again.”
Lonewolf glared at Youngblood and shoved him away, “I'm called Lone Wolf for a reason, boy. Now the only reason I'm taking you with me is to show you the way of our ancestors.”
Youngblood rubbed the place on his arm where Lonewolf had roughly shoved him away. He then began to adjust his helmet.
Lonewolf stared at Youngblood through his mask.
A few minutes of complete silence passed. With the exception of snapping twigs as the massive Predators cruised their way through the Earths forest.
“So... what is this for again?”
Lonewolf sighed, stopping in his tracks and looked at Youngblood, “Since I am one of the Eldest of the Hooded Blades, it is my job to train new comers like you and make sure you keep our tradition going strong. Each clan sends their eldest with the newest Blood Brother so that I may set an example on how to truly hunt. Some day I will die, and you will take my place as one of the Eldest.”
“But why are we here, on this Father Planet?” Youngblood asked.
This young one has a lot of questions... he reminds me of myself when I was younger. Thought Lonewolf.
“With evolution comes new knowledge. With new knowledge comes new inventions... somehow The Serpents have driven their way down here. Also, this is a former Father Planet. Such was decided after the creatures of this planet invaded our sanctuary not too long ago.”
Youngblood and Lonewolf continued to walk through the forest until it got dark.
“Turn your night vision on, Youngblood.”
Lonewolf turned on his night vision and began to scan the area for any movement. He saw something in the distance and motioned for Youngblood to follow him. The object slowly became bigger as the two Predators approached the object.
They crouched behind a fallen tree.
“What now, Lonewolf?”
Lonewolf put his finger in front of his mask in a hushing gesture. He pointed towards the creature and pretended to throw a spear at it. Youngblood responded with an enthusiastic nod.
Lonewolf slowly raised his head, and quickly brought it back down.
“It's a Serpent. Picking at some sort of human device. We must be careful now, Youngblood.” Lonewolf quietly clicked in through his COM channel to Youngblood.
“I want you to kill it. Remember to activate your camoflauge, sneak up behind it, and stab it in the back. Be weary of its acid blood, though. It can melt your arm off in a matter of seconds in you're clumsy.”
Youngblood nodded. Activating his camoflauge, he quietly approached the Serpent. Otherwise known as an Alien or Xenomorph.
He took out his battle spear, unsheathed it, and rammed it into the Serpents back.
It hissed in agony and began to throw it's massive bone like tail in random directions at it attempted to claw at Youngblood from behind. Yet he still hung on strong.
“Now take out your disk, and slice the beast's head off!” Lonewolf yelled.
Youngblood grabbed for his disk. He shook it violently once, causing the large metal circular contraption to release the jagged metal spikes. He cut the Serpents head clean off from the neck, roaring in victory as he held the Serpent's head as a trophy.
“Good work, Youngblood! You have brought honor upon your clan!” Lonewolf appeared from behind the fallen log.
“Now, young one. You must mark yourself with it's blood to prove your kill, and bring your trophy back to our leader to show you are ready to hunt in one of our beginning groups. I will lead you, and your brothers until you are ready to all hunt together. Only then until you master group hunting will you be able to become an Elder and be allowed to hunt alone, or train another new comer.”
Youngblood roared in victory once again, and snapped a finger off of the Serpent. He slowly removed his mask, revealing his bright neon green eyes and his massive mandibles that covered his mouth.
He brought the acid blood filled finger upon his forehead, and marked himself with an ancient symbol to show his first kill. He then marked the same symbol on the forehead of his helmet.
“But that was only a minor Serpent, young one. They are easy to kill. But with each victorious kill, you bring more honor and glory to yourself and your clan. Your ancestors look down upon you in happiness.”
There was a slight buzzing sound as the machine that the Serpent was looking at sparked.
“What about this?” Youngblood asked.
Lonewolf looked down, and picked up the strange machine. It looked like some sort of book, but when Lonewolf opened it the device was filled with strange symbols of four legged creatures with wings on their back, horns on their heads, some with none of those features at all, some with both.
He studied the strange device for a few moments before turning to Youngblood, “This is a strange device, indeed. We shall bring it to our clan leader as soon as we return. But if it proves useless, we will destroy it.”
Youngblood and Lonewolf made their way to their ship with the dead aliens body. Lonewolf punched in a few numbers into the ships hatch opener and the two Predators walked in. Youngblood put the limp body of the Alien on a tray and joined Lone Wolf at the front of the ship. Lone Wolf took off his helmet and set it on a nearby flat surface.
“What should we do- LOOK OUT!” Youngblood roared.
Suddenly, a massive Queen Alien broke through the trees, knocking them down. She was followed by at least ten lesser Serpents.
“Shit. Youngblood, take the wheel while I go up top and fend off the Serpents and their queen!”
“But Lonewolf, I-”
“No time for debates, Youngblood. We need to get off of this planet and return to ours. The humans will have to fend off the Serpents and their queen until we can return.”
Lonewolf grabbed his helmet, putting it on quickly. Youngblood took hold of the wheel and began to start up the engine.
Lonewolf opened a small hatch which led to the upper part of the medium sized carrier. He got up on the deck, and readied his wrist blades.
He looked at the strange human device still attached to his belt. It had begun to spark and made weird noises again. He ignored it and began to fend off the Serpents and their queen.
One of the Serpents jumped up on top of the deck, hissing at Lonewolf. He welcomed the Serpent with a challenging roar. The Serpent charged at Lonewolf, who quickly side stepped and brought his left wrist blade down on the Serpents back. It hissed in agony, and began to dash towards the front of the ship.
“Hold still, you son of a bitch!” Lonewolf grunted. He began to charge his shoulder blaster, and fired a weak shot at the Serpents head, causing it to explode. Quickly turning around, Lonewolf was greeted by a surprise attack by two more Serpents. He side stepped, causing one of them to miss. But the other got lucky and raked the side Lonewolf's helmet. He grabbed the dull end of the Serpents bladed tail and began to swing it like one of the Olympic challenges. He released the Serpent and it's tail, causing it to smash head first into its brother.
Suddenly, there was a sudden vibration as the ship started up and began to lift off of the ground.
The device strapped to Lonewolf's belt began to vibrate even more violently, as a massive aqua blue light engulfed the entire ship, bringing the nine remaining Serpents and their queen with them two wherever the strange device was taking them.
