One Native Life
The Europeans Never Came To My Tribe
Load Full StoryNext ChapterJust before I was born, Europeans found many countries of the South but never the North. They were scared to go up North, bears there were rooming. My Tribe is the Red Indians Tribe. I changed my Tribe, people in the Tribe say I was destined to change the ways of my Tribe to a better way. I never did get why that was though. I was born into the Tribe like everyone else, but I'm the chief's son. My dad's name is Chapa, my mother's name is Bena. They named me Akule. I'm a blessing for them. Now, here's my story about how I became Chief of the Red Indians and how I changed the whole Tribe.
Years Ago
The rain was falling heavy as the Chief and his wife stood inside of their hut, since his wife made the hut, he had to follow her rules. But he still had power over the Tribe. Now they weren't alone like any other time, now you see the wife had a child. The Chief's baby, son or daughter, many said it was going to be a life changer. And well, they were right. A young boy was born to the Chief, looked like his father, had his mother's blonde hair, blue eyes too.
Now the Chief couldn't be happier, he picked his young one up and smiled at him. His wife also smiled at her young one, but the boy had something none other had, a gift you might say. But that was seen until he was old enough to explore and play with many other kids of the Tribe. The boy opened his eyes and looked at his parents, confused and yet so happy to see his parents. The Chief gave a little kiss to his son, and handed him to his mother.
"You did so well Bena." The Chief spoke to his Wife, "I'm so proud of you."
"A little blessing is what this one is." Bena told her husband and Chief, her son closing his eyes, "What about Akule for his name Chapa?"
"Love it."
Chapa watched as Bena put down little Akule and sat beside him, Chapa went outside when the rain stopped and looked at the sky. As clear as it was, nothing could stop his worry about the news about Europeans coming to other Tribes and pulling apart. He prayed that wouldn't happen to his own Tribe.
Just south of the North, a family was playing happily, the Europeans ruled there. The natives were slowly turning into them, they lost their language to the Europeans and they didn't know how to do things like before.
"This is awesome!" A teen called Rainbow Blitz said, "All of this ours!"
"But isn't this a bit mean?"
"Na! Dusk, you worry to much!" Blitz said, pulling his friend close, "We'll be awesome!"
"We took away so much from them though." Dusk said, looking at the leader, who had two daughters.
"Oh! Your feeling like you should be his heir?" Blitz teased, "I see why. The daughters get power when their older."
Dusk rolled his eyes at his friend's comment, he didn't want power, he wanted to be seen as his father's son. But his dad never said so, he was given up and then one day two daughters were born. The fact killed Dusk inside, but he was replaced by two cute girls.
"Blitz, Blitz." The two saw their other friend, Sunset Glare, "Who ever said we would have power if we were the leader's kids?"
"We would."
"I know, but we would have to work for power!" Glare said with a smirk, "But they do not. He treasures them both."
"Whatever, we're going to make this Native's work for everything. Food, water, and so much more!" Blitz said, high fiving his friend, "Right Dusk?"
"What? Oh, yeah." Dusk joked, rubbing his neck, "But we should at least give them some time alone!"
They watched the family play and Blitz scared them, Sunset Glare and Rainbow Blitz laughed, while Dusk Shine didn't. He knew it was mean and unfair, so that night when everyone was sleeping, he snuck some food and water to the Natives and told them to head North. They did so.
The next morning was hard, cold, and fearful, everyone blamed Dusk for the Native's leaving, some families remained. The leader swore to kill off Dusk if anymore Natives were to be gone. Dusk nodded and went to work with the others, he kept his eye on the daughters though, the leader playing with them.
Until...
"Dusk?" It was his friend, Fluttershy, "Are you alright?"
"No," Dusk said, "I'm replaced by them! I was threatened by the man I used to call father!"
Fluttershy said nothing after that, only because Blitz said to stop talking with him. Damn he hated his life here.
It took a while for me to get used to the ways of my Tribe at first. Once I was four, I could explore and play with animals of my liking. I was always told to never heard South, but one night I thought to myself, 'How bad could it be?' I was a fool for thinking that. As soon as I thought of a good day to head that way, my life changed forever.
I never did think of who would be there, I just thought animals would live there. Not people, I saw Tribes in slaved and felt bad for them, I saw the leader of the evil people so mean and rotten to one of their kind. Expect I noticed he had two kids with him. Both were girls. Now that got me off guard by a long shot.
Never did speak of that time to my father though, I only spoke about it to my mom. She understood my mistake of seeing the South. She told me that we were protected my the bears, beavers, and many other animals. And for that, I'm glad to be born up North.
