Two miles East of Ponyville The Centurion Mk.X's engine was silent. It seemed as if everything was mute. The hatch on the hefty medium tank opened, and the commander climbed out with a set of old, dirty binoculars. He scanned the area and looked for any sign of German occupation, or any hint of gunfire, but there was nothing. Only a small town and an apple orchard was what he could see. He went back to the hatch, peeked his head inside and said," Hey! Come on! We to start up a camp, or at least have something useful!" Slowly, three pre-teen kids came out, all either looking wary, or clouded with grief for their fallen friends in the battle. They lined up and waited for their commander, who also happened to be their age, to bark out some commands. "Logan! Check the barrel for any grime or dirt, then clean it! Phoenix! I need you to check our supplies, then immediately check the engine for damage! Caden! Help me set up the base camp! Everyone, out", He exclaimed. The kid's names were Logan, Caden, Pheonix and Trip. Trip was the commander, Logan was the gunner, Phoenix was the loader, and last, but not least, was Caden, the driver. 1 hour later Everyone was finished and were either wrestling or trying be optimistic about their current situation. Logan, the introverted one, was reading a book, Treasure Island, which he found quite captivating. He didn't talk much, only giving warning when someone made a mistake, or just a normal conversation. Trip and Caden was in a wrestling match while Phoenix just stared into space. Logan then spoke up, "Trip, shouldn't one of us go on a reconnaissance mission and scout out the area" "Why yes, and since you asked, you get to go! You want anybody with you?" Trip replied. "No, I think I can do this mission alone" Logan said. He opened the hatch of the tank, reached inside and got a nice scoped Lee-Enfeild rifle. He set off in the direction of the town that they saw and brought binoculars with him. As he traveled, he saw a very large forest. It was quite close to the orchard, but somewhat far away from the town. He got into a prone position whipped out his binoculars and scanned the area. What he saw amazed him. There were multicolor ponies walking around, having conversations, which he was sure ponies couldn't do. He also saw ponies selling things like carrots, pies, and apples. He was completely baffled. He couldn't think that anything could get more strange, but it did. There were pegasi moving clouds, and there seemed to be unicorns as well, using magic. Logan wondered what would happen if he shot one round. He wondered if that would scare them or not. He scoped in his rifle, took a deep breath and shot an apple right off of a pony's head. She was quite startled, but shrugged it off. Every pony there just shrugged the sound off too. He got up and ran back to the tank. He didn't know that someone had been watching him the entire time. It was a certain blue pegasus mare. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2, Confrontation //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2, Confrontation As Logan was walking back, he heard a strange ruffling noise. At first, he thought it was just a bunny or a squirrel. He once again returned to his original plan of going back to his friends at the tank. The ruffling noise happened again, so he turned around and inspected the bush. He saw some cyan blue and rainbow colors. He peeked inside and the rainbow mare pounced on him, immobilizing him. But British military training kicked in and he gave the rainbow mare the hardest club from his hand he could give, dazing her, and he ran off as quick as he could. "Guys, guys", Logan exclaimed. "Something came after me! I clubbed it as hard as I could, but I think it followed m-." Logan's speech was interrupted as his aggressor pummeled him in the back. The other crew members heard Logan's cry and ran, one of them holding a revolver. They saw the rainbow pegasus beating the shit out of Logan as he was hammered blow after blow. The one with the revolver took a shot, wounding the pegasus's wing. It let out a pained cry and ran off in the distance back to the town. They all had a feeling that she wouldn't be back. //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue-Gustav Rain //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue-Gustav Rain France, Champagne 1950 A brigade of three hundred tanks drive through the the mud, the blood, and the dead bodies. It was like a fiery hell. The screams of men in pain sweeped the land. This brigade was the last in France before the BEF arrived on Normandy. This brigade was the RTR's finest group of battle-hardened men. A group of Centurions raced through as artillery thundered and shells exploded right before them. They were fearless. As the tanks raced on their offensive, the Germans had managed to put up a medium-sized defensive line made of large tanks and anti-tank guns. The lead tank was immediately destroyed by a high-velocity 8,8 round. Next, the tanks began to open fire, the Brits armor had small chance of bouncing rounds that penetrated so deeply. "Flank left, flank left", The radio exclaimed as the number of tanks were slowly deteriorating. The flanking maneuvers only made the guns have to reposition slightly before firing and occasionally making a lucky shot. For young children had a tank in this brigade. In fact, they were the best crew in the entire elite section, and now that tank had been firing AP rounds only for them to hit a bad angle and bounce off. Worry spread among the last remaining twenty tanks. They had orders to charge the line, and finally, one of the commander yelled CHARGE in their radio as hard as they could. The last twenty tanks charged and were slowly picked off as the German tanks fired on. The last of the tanks was the kid's tank, working in perfect condition. One hit from an AP round, and it was over.
