a diffrent canterlot wedding
It was a bright sunny day in the land of equestria, normal weather for this time of year. Celesta had set a sunny, warm day for this day.
6 girls, twilight sparkle and her friends, were on a picnic taking advantage of the nice weather and there not being any danger today which was admittedly was a usual event. Sadly their picnic was interrupted by their dragon friend, spike twilights dragon.
"Twilight....message..." spike panted as he had been running since ponyville centre. He held up the note while pointing it in twilights direction, twilight looked at the note before picking it up with her magical aroura encasing it. The purple unicorn opened up the letter and started to read it aloud
“Dear twilight, I am sure you are as excited for the upcoming wedding as I am. I was hoping that you and your friends could help out with the wedding preparations. Rarity, I can’t think of any other designer in the whole of equestria to help design the brides and bridesmaids dresses, your designs are so unique and the bride has said her love for your designs multiple times .applejack, I am sure the bride and groom would love it if you could bake one of your delicious cakes for the after party. Flutter shy, the groom has requested for your bird choir to perform at the reception he hopes you are able to come up with a lovely song for the wedding. Pinkie pie, no other party pony could plan an amazing after party for the bride and groom and finally twilight I leave you the most important job of all , you will be in charge of making sure everything goes according to plan , hope to see you in canterlot soon " twilight looked at the bottom of the note , then behind it . Something was up she didn’t even know who was getting married, did celesta forget to send her the second half, no celesta never forgets anything.
“hang on who’s getting married I mean did celesta forget the second note, well technically it’s the first one but still she must have forgotten the note, why is celesta suddenly forgetting things, is she falling behind on stuff " twilight was now going on a tangent it look a look from rainbow dash and apple jack pointing at spike to stop her from being on her tangent.
Spike looked dazed then suppressed realising he had made a mistake, twilight was looking at him now " oh right I probably should have given you this first " spike said before handing twilight another note, in response she rolled her eyes at him before opening the second note
“You are courtesy invited to the wedding of princess cadence. OH MY GODNESS CADENCE I HAVENT SEEN HER IN SO LONG “twilight squealed to herself then noticed what she was doing she awkwardly giggled before continuing what she was doing .”Any way princess cadence and wait what..... MY BROTHER" twilight said shouting the last bit again all of the girls looked at her this time she wasn’t embarrassed , she was mad , mad at her brother , mad at him for not telling her , why didn’t she get told until now . Did he suddenly not care for her like he once did? She felt like she wanted to cry and scream out all at the same time but most importantly she felt like she had been kicked in her heart.
“Well twilight I bet your mighty prod of your brother, huh sugar cube “apple jack said, twilight looked at her friend then sighed, she looked up again
“I am aj, I really am but you see me and shining Amor used to be really close we couldn’t be separated you know he was bbbff now, he couldn’t even tell me about his own wedding I mean who even dose that to their little sister " twilight said tears were now threatening to come out, talking to aj about this wasn’t a very good idea it just made her sad, spike rubbed her leg and smiled at her she smiled back at him
“Maybe something really important came up" apple jack said, twilight looked at her, sighed again then nodded, how many times had she done that this morning, she hadn’t been counting

When the train stopped in canterlot, twilight had decided she was mad, the train stopped and the rest of the girls walked off the train whereas twilight stormed off, they looked at her but they didn’t stop her they knew about twilights temper, she walked up to the gates still mad and angry , admittedly she had calmed down just a tad . She was about to walk in but two guards tried to stop her
“Excuse me, twilight sparkle, princess celestials student very important things to do " she said making her voice sound as calm as she could. Don’t let the guards see she isn’t happy at all, that wouldn’t go down so well would it. The guards looked at each other before they let her through she thanked them before She ran through the courtyard. She bumped into a guard, she recognised the person, shinning’s friend, his training buddy
"ugh I’m sorry flash , um shinning Amor pleases" she asked one of the he looked down at her , the old height distance wasn’t so big anymore , which she kind of liked , he wasn’t looking down on her much anymore , she always thought she was smarter than him anyway
"Sure Twi, I’ll go get your brother for you " he replied before walking off, presumably to get her brother, she rolled her eyes at him ever since her brother had joined the royal guard all of the guards had called her Twi or twinkle star, thanks to whenever she came to see shining Amor he would call her all of his nicknames.
A white coated stallion walked out, twilight beamed " shinning oh my gosh I haven’t seen you in so long how have you been " she said her anger had subsided now, she was just happy to see her brother now. She ran up to him smiling at him now, shinning Amor looked at her weirdly “what do you think you’re doing" he said, twilights smile dropped from her face, she didn’t feel so happy anymore. “Aww twill I’m joking how have you been “twilight regained her smile?
“Good, I’ve got to go meet my friends. Bye shining “she said before running up to her friends a smile gleaming on her face
“See twilight what did I tell ya, he hasn’t forgotten about you, he must have just been busy “apple jack said twilight smiled at her before walking to the castle where she presumed they would be staying
The girls followed her into a room twilight had never been in this part of the castle, she was also chatting to the girls, sadly twilight couldn’t talk and look where she was going as she bumped into some pony " sorry I wasn’t looking where i was going I’ll be more careful next time " she said while apologising, why was she apologising, she should be comfortable here shouldn’t she .
“Wait...... Cadence oh my gosh hey, I don’t know how long it’s been since I last saw you “the room was then lightened up from cadences horn, the blue aroura from her horn reflected onto the walls
" twilight, hey to you to , I think it’s been a couple of years 5 maybe no that would make you a little younger I think it’s been 8 years " she replied they both smiled before laughing together , twilights friends were looking at the two of them
“Sunshine sunshine ladybugs awake, clap your hooves and do a little shake" they both sang together, when then were done twilight was laughing again, today had been a roller coaster of emotions and the day wasn’t even over yet,
“It’s been a while since I have done that in such a long time “she said smiling again, this was probably the 100th time she had smiled today
. “So you excited for your wedding” twilight asked cadence nodded and smiled her smile was the same as it had been from twilights memory
“So I’m guessing your lost twilight, and you six girls need to know where your room is. Well room 2 celestial wing" cadence said twilight of course knew where that was but of course her friends didn’t, which she had forgotten about
“Um twilight you might know where that is but we really don’t “rainbow dash said, both the girls turned around to look at the other girls, cadence giggled
“Don’t worry girls I’ll take you, it’s near my room any way " cadence said, she walked forward the other girls nodded and followed the pink alicorn . Cadence led the girls up 3 stare ways, then into the room where they would be staying
“thank you cadence see you later" twilight said cadence smiled at twilight before walking off to her own room
"Hey twilight, you've been down lately what's the matter sugar cube , I can help you if somethings upsetting you ” applejack said whilst also icing the second part of the wedding cake , twilight looked up at apple jack was it that noticeable , must have been apple jack can always see when a pony is upset about something . Twilight gave in, telling apple jack would be an ok option right now, she needed someone to talk to about this
"well its shinning Amor he’s acting off , at first he didn’t even recognise me when I showed up to say hello to him , then after a couple of seconds he recognised me ," she said applejack stopped what she was doing with the cake and walked over to her friend
"He probably has a lot on his mind twilight you know with the wedding and stuff” apple jack said twilight looked at her for a second. Then looked back down at the ground, she then looked back at her friend “you also had the biggest smile on your face when you came back to us girls “twilight looked up at her friend
“I hadn’t realised what had actually just happened “she replied “now that I’ve had time to think it over I realise how odd he was acting “
“aww sugar cube , he loves you and you know that right , ok maybe its just stress , go and talk to him tonight ok “
"But” she started then she sighed "never mind " she got up and walked out the room leaving apple jack blinking
“I’m worried about you sugar cube “she muttered to herself before going back to the cake which demanded her attention, the bride needs it done in two days.
Twilight went up to rarity’s work station where she was working on the dresses for the bride and bridesmaids “darling what a surprise, um well I’m getting the dress done, the brides one is finished, I’m sure princess cadence is going to love it “the white coated unicorn said, twilight looked at the dress which she had created, it did look like cadences style.
“rarity , it’s so pretty I think you’ve out done yourself , Candace’ is going to love it “ twilight replied forcing a happy tone in her voice , she had just learned from apple jack not to let it show that something was on her mind
“Did I hear my name “cadence’s voice said both unicorns turned to look at the door where the bride to be was standing with her 3 bridesmaids
“Your highness can I say how honoured I am to be able to make a dress for royalty for their wedding “rarity said, cadence smiled
“No need to be so formal, uh rarity right “cadence said rarity looked up at her and nodded “so how’s my dress going “
Cadence walked up to the manikin with the dress on it “well I’ve been working on it ever since I was given the assignment to make the dress “rarity said,
“I love it, but could you make the train a little bit smaller, I don’t do so well in long trained dresses “the princess hesitantly requested, rarity nodded at her
“Adjustment can easily be made, it is your special day after all “

“Cadence do you know where my brother is I need to talk to him “twilight said, cadence turned to look at her future sister in law, she smiled her usual warm smile
“he’s down stairs , I think the courtyard “ she replied twilight nodded before running out to the courtyard
Twilight knew where cadence would be going next, she would be checking up on pinkie pie, she didn’t have to be there so she could go confront her brother about his odd behaviour. She saw him in the courtyard talking to a soldier, well more like shouting at him. The soldier walked towards twilight
“Hey twilight, be careful I think he’s in a bad mood “the soldier was flash, she gave him an apologetic smile as he walked off
“SHINNING “ she shouted , the colt turned to look at her , twilight stormed over to him “alright spill it , why have you been acting in such a weird way and why are you always in such a bad mood “
Shining Armor looked at the mare, her expression didn’t change and neither did his. Twilight felt weaker around shining Armor now, she could explain how or why. Right now she wanted answers for a different question “oh it’s you again, what do you want “
“I just told you, why are you acting so weird “
“you’ve been gone a while twilight this is me now , get used to it because if you don’t ,well I guess you’re just goanna have to be bitter “ shining Armor said , twilight was extremely mad at her brother now , she didn’t like his new attitude at all
“well I don’t like it , what happened to the colt I knew growing up , I want him back “ she shouted her knees were trembling , she was getting weaker , wait talking to him made her weaker . she didn’t want to talk any more , she shook her head and ran off , she had to meet her friend somewhere any way
