Ivan salazar over looked the balcony sadly with his head hanging low, his mother an unicorn comes up behind him and nuzzles him in order to comfort him. Salazar shirks her out of pure disgust"Get away from me you royalist! be lucky my father fancey's you so much or i would have had you lined up and shot along side the former supporters of the king."

His mother Victoria Salazar simply smiled softly and replied."Sorry, if i have offended you my son." at this point Ivan looks at his own mother and retorts back with fury in his voice."You aren't my mother! your just an worthless whore that my father took on now leave me!" he says slamming his hoof onto  the balcony.

Tears came out of his mothers eyes as she simply nodded and walked away sadly unfortunately for Ivan his father was within ear shot of the whole thing as he came in however his mother told him not to be to hard on him as her son seems lost,Damien salazar nod his head then walked in to talk to his son.

"You know that's no way to talk to your mother." he says lifting an eyebrow to  his son, Ivan salazar looked up to him and replied."You are the greatest revolutionary hero to this nation has ever seen when you defeated the kings forces and the royalist that supported them." He shook his head side ways then spoke."that war has been won and done with the king has fled and our subjects as well as the former subjects of the king are still  under our care it wouldn't be fair to say  that all unicorns are conspiring against us as well as servants to the king.

As far as i see it they are now under our care and harbor no ill will against us your mother included."  Ivan backed away from his father as he pointed to the unicorns below."They are nothing but parasites feeding off the glory of our great mother land!" his father turned from him and sadly replied."Ivan, that's not what are people fought for. we fraught not only for freedom but to be treated as equals,they might not have treated us very well and yet we are now in their hooves so why not simply be tolerate of other ponies who are different from you?"  Ivan's mouth opened as he failed to form correct words.

Ivan's father looked at him."maybe if i married you off to the kings fourteen year old daughter will change your views rather quickly." Ivan fallen back on his flank speechless; His father then walks out giving his son sometime to think it over however before he does he speaks."oh, as a show of good will i am marrying you off to the kings fourteen year old daughter as a sign of our nations tolerance towards Unicorns." he then leaves him on the balcony.

Ivan closes his eyes as he looks away and thinks to himself."That's your vision of the future of an more weak serpentine but in my vision, we shall discover our true glory and take our true and proper place in the world as supreme masters of the world!"  Ivan smirks as he then leaves the balcony so he can attend to other duties,however he did have an plan to shift public opinion away from his father so he become leader of his subjects and maybe tow the line so he can prevent a weak and inferior serpentine.

Ivan walked out of the palace under the escort of the revolutionary guard, then in a sing songy tune Ivan begins to sing."What is this I see on streets other then my subjects, are ponies who ruled us and oppressed us,stole our land and farms. I say keep Serpentine pure and strong, the old ways have long and gone now its time to rebuild and cast out those who aren't serpentine, Let us rebuild the econmy and the military; Serpentine forever strong and pure!" Ivan said raising his hoof as more ponies joined him in the singing however one of the revolutionary guards also broke out in song in support of Ivans future policy.

Ivan smirked and stood on a platform as he angrily pointed to the presidential palace and spoke."My father isn't the revolutionary hero we all have him to be, he seeks to make us weak before the saddle Arabian king and to the so called royalist!" the ponies boo and jeer at the sound of that; Ivan Salazar continue to speak."We have worked to hard to turn right back where we started,before we know it he will all have us working for the king yet again!" the boos got even louder as the mass of ponies got even larger before him.

Ivan then looked to the palace and pointed his hoof."Who you want as leader me or my father!" the heard of ponies all chanted Ivan as well as down with the traitor Damien, Ivan leads the heard of ponies towards the presidential palace, however his father wasn't surprised by the way his son was reacting. Despite what his father could do now to prevent this the thing was that was his son out there as well as his subjects so when his son demanded for him to step down he did so willingly naming his son as leader, Ivan then had his father and mother exiled from serpentine.

Over the years Salazar began to take away personal liberties such as, right to bare arms,freedom of expression,freedom of assembly ect; while also building up the nations shattered economy and military but despite this, Ivan could smell an revolution on the rise just by the way the ponies where talking and looking at him.

To make his subjects fear him and what he could do he ordered that all criminals build an statue to their Goddess Pacifica as well as build an high wall around an city then live it, Salazar called this city viper sense it was comprise of murders, thieves and lairs. Sense then the ponies feared what he might be capable of however Salazar then gotten an massage from the equestrian princess requesting a meeting within his own nation.
