There, a happy ending.

Alternate Ending 2

Applejack whistled as she walked. She was walking to the vampire fruit bats' section of the apple orchard. Why she walked along the edge of the Everfree Forest she didn't really know. She didn't have to worry about anything, though. It wasn't Timberwolf season; they wouldn't venture this close to the edge of the forest.

"Help."

Applejack froze, ears twitching. She thought she heard something. She stood still before shrugging and continued walking.

"Help me."

Applejack stopped. Now she knew she heard something. The voice came from the forest, "Hello? Anypony there?"

"Please help," It was a filly's voice. Applejack immediately thought of Applebloom. She couldn't make out what they were saying, though.

She walked a few feet into the forest, "Whut did ya say?"

"Help me, please."

Applejack's blood ran cold. She heard the words this time. Again she thought of Applebloom, "Hang on! Ah'ma commin'!"

She ran into the forest, following the filly's voice. She ran far enough into the forest to loose sight of the edge. The filly's voice increased in volume with every foot. Applejack could see something up ahead: a clearing. She burst into it, looking around. In the center she saw what would be her doom.

A single pale red tentacle sprouted out of the ground. The end was ball shaped. It pointed at Applejack to reveal it had a mouth, with sharp teeth, "Help me, please!"

Applejack stared in disbelief. This was what made the filly's voice? She got an uneasy feeling. She took a step back. The ground opened and more tentacles sprouted out. Four large ones curved back down and hit the ground with a thud. Applejack stumbled as the ground shook and opened up. Up came a monster. There were mouths everywhere on its spherical body, gnashing their pointy teeth. Tentacles sprouted from the top and bottom. A single giant eye stared at her. The mouths stopped their gnashing and spoke in a multi-toned cacophony of unholy voices, "hElP mE."

Applejack had one thing to say to that, "Nope!"

She turned on her heels and ran away. Or at least she tried to. She suddenly tripped and looked back. A tentacle had wrapped around her leg, causing her to fall. Applejack kicked at it, "G-get off of meh!"

Suddenly a beam of golden light passed through the monster. Applejack looked up and saw Celestia flying overhead. She was wearing a spandex uniform with a big 'C' on the front. Applejack smiled as she stood up, "Gee willikers, Celestia! Thank's fer savin' meh! Ah'm sure Ah wouldda died horrifically without ya!"

"It was no problem, citizen," boomed Celestia, her fists on her hips, "I am glad to be able to save you. Alicorn powers, activate!"

And with that Celestia flew off, leaving Applejack alone with the dead monster.
