Loud growls and the sound of breaking wood echo through the Everfree as a little filly runs for her life as she is being chased by a pack of Timber Wolves who are looking for an early meal. She dodged and weaved through the thick bushes and roots attempting to lose the predators that seek to end her life which only had just begun.
Her coat was a soft chocolate brown while her mane was a lighter brown with a streak of white going through her mane which reaches just past her neck and looks a bit rugged for a filly her age. Her eyes are golden and almost seem to glow when you look close enough, but her flank is still void of a cutie mark. As for now, her coat is filled with cuts and scratches and her lungs burn with each breath she takes. The sound of the wolves get ever closer as her young body screams out in pain as she reached her limit many hours ago.
'Mommy!' She called out within her mind, hoping that her parents were to show up and stop the evil wolves from taking her. Tears roll down her cheeks as her prayers were not answered.
"Somepony, help me!" She yelled out as she kept looking behind her for how far the wolves were behind her, her little legs protesting with each move when suddenly disaster struck. Not focusing where she was going, a lose root stuck out from the ground as she tripped right over it causing her to tumble for a good few meters as she comes to a halt near an old tree. In a desperate attempt to get up on her hooves a sharp pain shoots through her left foreleg, she released a cry of pain as she looked at her presumed broken leg but that was soon forgotten as a pair of growls and snarls sound from behind her.
The wolves finally caught up with her and are now circling around her and the tree she was laying against. She tried again to stand up but was met with the same pain as before, her small and short life shot through her mind as tears welled up in the corner of her eyes. She closed her eyes and awaited her certain demise. But she never felt the sharp teeth in her legs, never the endless agony of being devoured alive. Instead. She felt something else. A sense of hope filled her mind, like someone was hugging her deep within.
"It appears I arrived just in time." An unknown voice called out from beside the tree, the filly looked up and instantly froze in fear. Beside her stood a tall being which wears a brown robe with a hood covering its face. But what really spooked her, were its eyes. Two yellow glowing orbs of light are seen even through the shadow of the hood it was wearing. "Do not fear little one, the wolves will not bother you anymore."
It's voice was soothing and void of any anger, she looked into its glowing eyes and saw no ill will towards her. Even if the being wanted to hurt her, it would've done so already. And then the adrenaline finally wore off, the little filly broke down in tears of fear and pain. The robed being kneeled down next to her and gently lift her up off the cold and wet ground. As a reflex she snuggled up against the being with gently returned the favor allowing her to feel the warmth of the embrace making her feel slightly more at ease.
"W-who are you mister?" She asked as the tears finally dried up, looking straight into the being eyes with her own.
"That is an age old question little girl, and all will be answered in due time." It replied as he accidently bumped against the fillies broken leg, causing her to yell out in pain. "Oh my, I'm terribly sorry my dear. Allow me to help you, don't worry I promise it won't hurt." He gently lifted up his hand as it started to glow a golden aura which enveloped her entire leg, it caused her leg to tingle but didn't really bothered her too much. And soon the light faded from her leg as she felt no pain what so ever. She looked into the eyes of the being and smiled at him.
"Thank you kindly mister, but I never caught your name. Can you please tell me? I can tell you mine if you want." She said with an innocent smile on her face. All the while attempting to hide her emotions which are getting the better of her, it was all within her eyes.
"Of course little one. I am known as the Library, nothing to special about it. Now can you tell me your name?" He replied as he sat down onto the ground placing her on his lap.
"I'm Lost Legacy." She answered with a bright smile but it soon faded into a sad frown as she looked around to see if her parents were nearby, the Library caught on to this as a blue rune appears under him which shone with power as it gently circles around while the words of magic lines the outer ring. Once the rune was fully charged a wave of white magic erupted from the rune, expending outwards, covering every inch of the forest within a three hundred mile radius. Legacy was quite surprised by the sudden appearance of the magic rune and the effect, she turned to look at the Library who's eyes were no longer a golden color for they have been replaced by orbs of purple. Legacy was trying to figure out what the color meant, yet her answer was soon answered.
The Library released a heavy sigh, and looked down at her. "I am terribly sorry Legacy, but I found no life force nearby that matches your own. Only the local wild life, but none of your kind. I am sorry for your loss..." The Library looked at her with sympathy as Legacy remained silent for a few seconds before she had no longer control over her emotions and broke down in sadness. No words were needed to explain the situation as Legacy buried her muzzle into his robes and sobbed uncontrolled, he gently placed his hand on her back to provide any comfort as the seconds ticked by and in the end Legacy fell asleep while her cheeks were stained with tears, he gently lifted himself off the grass with her in his arms. "This is something new, and yet, It feels right. Do not worry Lost Legacy, a new home awaits."
