To whomever would be reading this journal, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Twilight Sparkle, I am fifteen years old and currently a student in high school. I always like to take notes in this journal, it helps me remain neat and organized, I've been writing in journals since i was little. Anyways, more about myself, my parents, my little brother Spike and I just moved in to Canterlot City in California. You know, because my dad switched jobs. His new company here makes more money. In terms of family, there is also my big brother Shining, my big sister Luna and my oldest sister Celeste. However, Shining and Luna are attending college and Celeste is living her own life at the moment. I always admired Celeste, we never fought as siblings. She was like a mentor to me, my parents told me that I got a lot my behavior from her. To change the subject, tomorrow is also my first day at a new school. I can't really predict how it's going to go, my last school didn't really make a big impression on me. I can't help it, I am not a really social person. My parents sometimes get on my case about that, they always try to get me some friends, they say it's a healthy thing for me. I'm not sure, I guess because I'd rather spend my time in a library rather than spending my time with others.  Anyways, I'm going to head to bed, I'll write more when I finish school     ~Twilight The sun begins to rise and another day is ready to start. The day was August 31st, the first day of the new school year. It was 6:30 AM. school starts at 8:00 sharp. Twilight raced to the kitchen to make herself some breakfast. After eating her bowl of hot oatmeal, Twilight dashed out of the house and walked to school. She was sure to bring a map of the school and she was sure to bring all her school supplies. Canterlot High School was perhaps one of the best schools in the state, people moved from outside the country to get the best education that the school promises to offer. As Twilight walked into the building, she was in awe at how surprisingly good the school was. The walls were painted in semi bright colors, along with several murals that were painted by students. "Alright, so first period is down the hall. I'll be sure to keep note of that." Twilight noted to herself as she walked up to her locker. While she was unlocking the lock for her locker, she felt someone breathing down her neck. "Excuse me?" Twilight said surprised as she turned the other direction. "You must be another nerd! Doesn't this school already have enough annoying bookworms?" It was another high school girl, around the same age as her. She had blond hair, makeup, and the attitude of a bratty child. The other girl had a playful tone to her voice, Twilight could tell that the girl was trying to tease her. However, before Twilight realized what the girl was talking about, the school bell rang. "Probably just a drama queen." Twilight muttered to herself as she walked to her first period class. It was math, not Twilight's best class, but she was decently skilled at it. Arriving in class, she took her seat with her textbook in hand. However, she didn't expect that the exact same blond girl was also attending the class as well, and she sat next to Twilight. Twlight maintained a proper posture, reached out her hand and spoke in a calm voice. "Hello, my name is Twilight Sparkle." "Kelly Sanders." The blond girl replied. "Don't talk to me." "Something wrong?" Twilight said concerned. "I just don't like you." Kelly replied to Twilight as she got out her textbook. "E-excuse me?" Kelly didn't reply to Twilight, as the teacher at the same moment walked into the room. The entire class shifted their attention to the teacher's boring lecture, nothing much was discussed besides the class rules and stuff of that sort. Before she realized it, first period was over. It was time to head to second period. "What was the deal with Kelly?" Twilight thought to herself as she arrived to second period. Unfortunately, Kelly was also in Twilight's second period class as well. This time Kelly sat down on the seat behind Twilight. "Just ignore her." Twilight thought to herself as she was trying to pay attention. However, she was distracted as she could hear Kelly talking to her friends. "Excuse me. Can you please stop talking?" Twilight whispered. Twilight turned back to pay attention to the class, but Kelly and friends were still annoyingly whispering. PTHOO! Twilight screamed in suprise. She was hit by something, she started shivering…she felt something crawling down her neck Was it sweat? She found a wet piece of paper near her, it was a spitball. PTHOO! Twilight once again looked behind her, Kelly and her friends were laughing. They were throwing spitballs at her. Twilight unusually had trouble paying attention, she has been bullied before back in primary school, but she never thought that this would happen to her in high school. The girl next to Twilight tapped her on the shoulder. The girl had a strong build, along with long golden hair and a brown cowboy hat. "Is that girl botherin ya?" She whispered. "She is always causin trouble to others." “Let's try to talk when I'm not talking,” the teacher quipped, slightly irritated. "If ya want, we can talk after class. They don't want us hollerin in here." The cowgirl whispered as Kelly scoffed. PTHOO! At the moment, Twilight ducked down, and the spitball landed on the floor. Kelly was visibly nervous as the teacher sat the spitball. “Whoever threw that is going to a detention coming to them,” the teacher said irritated. Kelly gulped as she hid in her seat, she didn't throw another spitball the rest of the period. "I wish she got caught." Twilight thought to herself. //-------------------------------------------------------// Friends //-------------------------------------------------------// Friends There was a 10 minute break in between second and third period, so Twilight and the girl had some time to talk with each other. After Twilight went to the restroom to get the spitwads out of her hair, she went to go talk to the cowgirl. "I-I'm sorry. My hair was soaking wet." "It's fine, I understand. So, what's yer name pardner?" "My name is Tw-Twilight." "Nice to meet ya Twilight." The girl said as she shook Twilight's hand. My name is Jackie, but my friends just call me Applejack." The cowgirl replied. "Applejack?" Twilight said confused. "Yeah pardner." Applejack replied. "My family and I work on an the family apple farm, we call it Sweet Apple Acres. Ya know the apple juice that comes with the school lunch? That is actually made on our farm." "Really? That's pretty neat." "Yup. Been in our family for generations and generations." Applejack confidently replied. "So anyways, I've been meaning to ask if ya wanna hang out with my friends and I during lunch? Applejack asked as she rubbed her chin "It's sure better then eating alone, especially with Kelly and all." "I guess that's the safe thing to do. I don't want Kelly to throw anymore spitballs at me." Twilight said nervously, droplets of timid sweat trickled down her skin. Suddenly as the two were talking, a young girl passed by them but stopped in her tracks upon Twilight. "Heeeeeeeey there!!" The girl yelled out, "You're new here! Welcome to Canterlot High School!" "Umm.. Yes.. How could you tell I'm new here?" "I know everyone in this whole school. I never seen you before." The pink girl yelled excitedly. "All 700+ students!!" Twilight said shocked! "Yessie!" She excitedly yelled "Oh! My name is Pinkie, what's yours?" "Twilight" "Nice to meet you Twilight! We'll be best friends forever! I see you already met Applejack. Wait! I have a great idea! I'll throw you a welcome party this weekend, It'll be amazing!!" "Umm... I'd rather just study in the library." "A library party? I don't really go there that much, they always tell me to be quiet. Besides, what's a party in a boring place like a library? We should have it at my house, then you'll become a happy girl with a ton of friends." "One step at a time." Twilight nervously added. Suddenly the bell for third period rang. "Well, I'll be seeing ya Twilight." Applejack said as she and Pinkie went off to class. As Twilight feared, Kelly was there as well and she gave Twilight the same attitude as the previous classes. Kelly put her hands on her hips, in mock sadness. "C'mon Twilight, you're making me sad. Why are you ignoring me? I was just playing around with you." Twilight sighed and continued to ignore what Kelly was saying. Kelly turned to her friends, speaking in a loud voice. “Hey, guys? I don’t think Twilight is having a good day today… Maybe we can help her?" Before Kelly could get the chance to throw another spitball at Twilight, she was stopped by a fancy purple haired girl. "Now now, let's not do anything regrettable darling. That girl has not done anything wrong, although her fashion could use some work." "Then maybe I'll throw a spitball at you then." Kelly replied with a smile on face. "Actually, there will be spitballs thrown at nobody." The teacher said, irritated. He walked straight to Kelly's desk, this is the only warning I'm going to give to you. "This is exactly what you get for threatening to throw a spitball at my hair. I am the class president after all." The purple haired girl said with a grin. The third period bell rang, and it was now time for lunch. Twilight followed the fancy purple haired girl. "Umm.. Thanks for saving me, and my hair." "You are quite welcome darling. You know, the one thing that I cannot stand is a bully like her." "So, you said that you were the class president?" "You must be new here. My name is Rarity, and I am class president, as well as the founder for the school Fashion Club." "Wow. You must be very well known." "What about you, dear? "M-my name is Twilight." "Nice to make your acquaintance Twilight." Rarity replied. "Anyways, would you like to have lunch with me? It is quite safer than you eating alone" "W-well. Another girl named Applejack already.." "Applejack? I know Applejack, I have lunch with her along with my other friends as well." Twilight and Rarity arrived to the cafeteria and sat down on the table to have lunch. There were two other girls sitting as well. "Oooh! Twilight's here too!" Pinkie yelled excitedly, clapping her hands together. "Glad you could show up." Applejack added. "So, about the party. I was thinking we could have it at my house tomorrow night, Applejack can make an apple pie and Rarity can decorate and..." "Pardon? You need me to decorate what Pinkie?" Rarity questioned. "Don't question it Rarity." Applejack replied. "Once Pinkie creates a plan, she won't stop." "Hey scooch over, will ya?" A girl with dyed rainbow girl went over the table and sat down next to Applejack, next to her was a timid pink haired girl wearing a yellow tanktop. "Hey hey! Who's that chick over there?" "O-oh. My name is Twilight Sparkle." "Nice to meet ya. My name is Rainbow Dash. And this is Fluttershy." "H-hi." The timid girl said shyly. "Rainbow Dash is the leader of the track team, she can run miles around everyone." Pinkie added. "She's well known around the school." "Oh. That's pretty cool." Twilight replied. "Oh! And the girl next to her is Fluttershy, she is the school's head gardener." "Was she the one responsible for the school's garden?!" Twilight said amazed. "Yep yep!" Pinkie yelled out "Y-you don't need to give me all that attention." Fluttershy blushed. "Umm.. Excuse me." Another girl tapped Twilight on the shoulder. "Can you please move over a little?" Twilight moved over as a girl with red and orange hair moved next to her. "Hi. My name is Sunset Shimmer. Are you new to this school?" The girl asked. "Pinkie told me that she never saw you around." "Yeah." Twilight said blushing "My name is Twilight. Pinkie sure seems to know everyone" "Yeah, It's quite cool isn't it" Sunset replied to Twilight. "Applejack told me that Kelly was giving you a hard time, she is always a handful to deal with." "You're telling me." Twilight said, her hair still a bit wet from the spitball. "I used to be like her once." Sunset said. "Throwing spitballs and stuff." Suddenly, the bell rang for the next class. "Quite a crazy bunch, but they are quite approachable." Twilight thought to herself. Twilight's Home August 31st 20XX: Twilight returned home from the busy school day. "The first day is always tiring." Twilight thought to herself as she arrived in her room. Her brother Spike was already in there. "Spike! What are you doing here? Are you looking through my stuff?" "What? Who do you think I am?" Spike retaliated. "Get out of my room!!" "Alright alright." Spike said as he left the room. //-------------------------------------------------------// Magic //-------------------------------------------------------// Magic After a warm shower and getting all cozy, Twilight went back to her bed to relax. As it was the first day, homework was very minimal, so she had some time on her hands. There are knocks at the door "Someones at the door. Can you get it?" Twilight said to Spike. "I'm barely dressed." "You always make do everything." Spike sighed from the other side of the house as he opened the door as Twilight got dressed in her room. "What is it?" Twilight said after she finished getting dressed. "Celeste is at the door." Spike yelled out. "Celeste is here!" Twilight said in a surprised manner. Twilight's older sister Celeste was a tall slender woman, with light cerulean hair with streaks of turquoise. Along with a long yellow hat, tank top, black shorts and white boots. She was carrying a giant box in her hand and her pet bird Philomena. "Hello there Twilight." "Hello Celeste." Twilight said as she hugged her sister. "Twilight, we need to talk. It's something very important." "Important?" Spike interrupted. "This is for Twilight only." Celeste said. "I'm sorry Spike." "Big sisters and their secrets." Spike muttered to himself as he walked to his room. Twilight and Celeste walked to Twilight's room and shut the door. "So what is this you want to show me?" Twilight asked Celeste as Twilight sat on her bed. Without really saying anything, Celeste slipped off her boots and sat on the edge of Twilight's bed, grabbing the big box and opening it. Inside the package, there were six distinct sparkling wands each with their own jewel on it. One with a single six-pointed star with five smaller stars, one with three lozenge diamonds, one with three red apples, one with three pink butterflies, one with three balloons, and one with a rainbow lightning bolt. "What is this?" Twilight yelled out confused. "You want to play fairy princess with me? We haven't done that since we were little." "No, this is not a game Twilight." Celeste said in a strangely serious manner. "Where did you even get this from?" "I'm an explorer Twilight, I found these." "Yeah.. But why are these important? Like, what are the purpose of these?" "Well, it is kind of difficult to explain. But first off, I need to tell you that there are many alternate dimensions." "Alternate dimensions?" Twilight replied. "Yes. One of those dimensions is known as Equestria, which was home to many magical ponies and other animals." "You mean, like the My Little Pony toys that we used to play with?" "Well, it is kinda similar." Celeste laughed. "H-how exactly do you know all this?" Twilight asked. "When I acquired the wands, I was encountered by a spirit." "A what?!" Twilight yelled out, surprised. "The spirit was of a princess named Celestia." "I don't remember studying about a princess named Celestia." Twilight replied. "Of course, she was an Alicorn from Equestria." Celeste replied with a straight face. "Long ago, there used to be civilizations known as the Bronies and the Pegasisters. They worshiped the princesses of Equestria and they were the ones who designed the wands as well as building the temple that I explored." "Well, why are you showing this to me?" Twilight replied confused. "This has to do with you Twilight. Celestia mentioned you." "W-what me?" "You see Twilight, you have within you the spirit of one of the elements of harmony." "Huh?" "There are six elements, honesty, kindness, laughter, generosity, loyalty, and magic. You are the element of magic. That's where the wand comes in." "What about the other five?" "They go to your school. I know that for sure." Celeste said crossing her arms. "How do you know?" "You were all destined to meet, Celestia said so." "Like a prophecy?" Twilight questioned. "Probably, I'm not sure exactly." Celeste laughed. "The bearers of the elements of harmony were all reborn into this world, you are one of them." "You're kidding?!" "Your mission is to find them, the other six. Celestia said that the world might be in danger. Once you find them, you must tell them everything and give them the wands." "T-this is a lot to take in.." "Now, I have to go. Some other time I'll meet with all of you, but now I have to go." "But wait!" Twilight said as Celeste slid into her boots and gracefully walked out of the room, opening the door. Twilight went to go and check on Spike, but he was fast asleep in his room. "I won't tell Spike about this, for now." Twilight said to herself as she went back to her bed. Putting all the wands next to her bed, Twilight lied down in bed thinking about her older sister just nonchalantly said to her. Of course Twilight believed what Celeste said. Celeste did not have a history of pulling pranks like this, she is an explorer after all. All she knew is that she had to find the other five members of the Elements of Harmony. Twilight's Home: September 1st 20XX Celeste called Twilight on the computer, there were other things that Twilight wanted to know about. "Celeste. How will possibly be able to find the other members?" "The wands you have will flash when you find a member. But simply giving it to them won't be enough." "Huh?" "Twilight, I understand you are not very sociable but you have to make friends with them." "What, why?" "You can't just have your powers on your own. All of you need to be together." "B-but!" "Remember this Twilight, never reject someone who wants to be your friend." "W-well.." "Anyway, I should be leaving now. It is time for school for you and you need to get ready. Just don't forget what you need to do." Celeste said as the call ended. "What are you guys talking about?" Spike said as he was eating breakfast on the table. "You are always very nosy. It's nothing!" "No need to get defensive. Geez!"
