The Protector

My hooves were tied behind my back.

I stare in horror as my precious little sister layer, hog tied, in the worst of places.

We were in the tunnel. The tunnel the train goes through as it ventures to Canterlot.

And Twily was hog tied, right there on the tracks.

The train whistled!

"No, Twily!" I screamed.

The headlight streamed down the dark tunnel.

"Brother...." She trembled as her wide eyes stared at the machine coming toward her. "Brother?"

The restraints held fast.

"Don't worry Twily, I'll get us out"

Yank.

Yank.

I lost concentration. My magic was useless.

The train inched closer. Twi stared crying.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" The blur zoomed toward her.

Right before he witnessed Twilight getting splattered all over the walls, Shining shot up from bed, sheets drenched in sweat. He was still yelling.

Just a dream....just a dream....

The young purple unicorn ran into the room and hopped up onto his bed. "What's wrong, brother?"

Shining sighed and replied, "Nothing."

He scruffled her hair as he asked, "Whatcha doin' up so early, little snot?"

"I had to get back to my book!" Shining laughed. Her love for books was so adoring. When she read, she looked so innocent. So cute.

"Well, lil sis, hows the studying going?"

She quickly ran to her room, grabbed one of her books, and was back in Shining's room just like that.

"I'm stuck on this one." The levetation spell for turning pages.

"Here, let me help you, Twily." The way she was fascinated with studying. So precious. You couldn't ask for a better sister. Of course, Big Mac would beg to differ.

Big Mac,yes. Old friend Shining met when he was young. They went to Ponyville for vacation and Macontage and Shining spent the whole week together. They kept in touch as much as they could. Wonder if his sister could meet Twily some day.

"Thanks, Shiny." Twilight said as she finally turned the page with her magic.

"Good job, Twily." He ruffled her hair once more. "You're getting smarter and smarter. Keep it up, and you'll be great some day, as if you're not great already."

She smiled.

"Uh oh, I think I hear the TICKLE MONSTER!" He pinned her to the bed and attacked all of her tickle spots. She laughed super hard.

He had to hold on.to.her as long as he could.

She was everything to him. Without her, he'd be lost.

He would be her protector, guard her with his life, until the right man shall take his place as the protector.

Never leave me, Twily.

After he was finished tickling her, he brought her to his chest and gave her a great big hug.
