Another adventure reached its end and Twilight and her friends felt relieved, however, in the end, none of them had been the hero. No, that responsibility had fallen on Spike and Princess Cadence. They were the ones whom, with the help of the Crystal Heart, saved the Crystal Empire from the tyrannical King Sombra.
Once the threat ended, the ponies of the kingdom organized a great feast for their heroes. And so, after a day of joy and celebration, it was time for them to go home. The group of six friends plus a dragon walked towards the train station on the outskirts of the Crystal Empire while chatting cheerfully, although, none of them seemed to notice that one of them was falling behind.
For some reason, Applejack couldn't stop thinking about the fallen adversary. Yes, it was true that Sombra had been a monster and that she knew how true fear felt like in the moment she and her friends descended from the train and that being born from the shadows of the Tartarus itself chased after them.
In her mind, she could still see him. The imposing and menacing figure of that black unicorn who seemed to have powers beyond the imaginable limits would haunt her forever. Yes, Applejack felt terrified and feared for her life, even so, part of her regretted being a witness of the moment in which the energy of the Crystal Heart ripped the former King apart in a powerful explosion.
Without realizing that she had stopped completely, Applejack sighed and lowered her head. "What in tarnation is wrong with me?" She asked herself. The blonde mare looked up and saw that her friends were already entering into the station. She sighed again and continued walking. After giving only a few steps, a gust of wind removed her hat from her head and raised it a few meters in the air.
"Hey! Get back here!"
Applejack shouted while running after it. Finally, the hat fell to the snowy ground several meters away from her.
"Stupid hat." She mumbled.
After taking the hat with her hoof, she placed it over her mane, but when she looked down, something caught her attention. An object protruded slightly from the white layer of snow and filled with curiosity, Applejack used her hoof to discover it in its entirety just to make a jump backwards in fear.
A shiver ran through her body as she looked at the object. It was a unicorn horn; its long body had no edges and the red color of its tip faded to a deep black. Applejack swallowed and stared at the horn not knowing what to do, even more so when she realized that the horn had belonged to King Sombra. After some minutes, the whistle of the train startled her and she glanced towards the station just to see how Twilight appeared through one of its doors.
"Applejack!" The purple unicorn shouted. "Hurry up! The train is about to leave!"
"I'm coming Twily!"
Applejack took the horn and placed it inside her saddlebag before running off to the station, minutes later, the train started its trip towards Canterlot.
*** Six Months Later. ***
Autumn had reached Sweet Apple Acres, the fields of apple trees that most of the year had a green color now showed orange hues and the cold wind blew taking away the dry leaves from their branches. The harvest season was over for the Apple Family and with the barn and their cellars stocked for the winter, they could now have a well-deserved break from the work in the farm.
The afternoon was starting to paint the sky with orange tones, so Big Mac decided to take Granny Smith and Applebloom to the festival that was being held at the town's center. Applejack declined the invitation and told him that she wanted to stay at home. She wished to take advantage of the solitude and tranquility she would have to take a long hot bath. As soon as she was left alone in the house, Applejack went up the stairs to her room to take the necessary things for her relaxation time. If something she had learned from Rarity, it was that even a hard working mare like her needed some time to herself.
While humming a song, she opened her closet taking a couple of towels and some glass bottles containing her favorite herbal essences. She went into the bathroom to leave the things and then returned to her room. She placed her hat over the bed and then looked into her mirror while taking away the red ribbons from her mane and tail. Long golden hair fell over her shoulders, her silky mane could easily give Fluttershy a run for her money, something no one seemed to notice.
Through the reflection of the mirror, her emerald eyes caught the edge of a red box under some blankets. Applejack turned around and walked to the closet. She bit her lower lip as her cheeks took on a faint reddish color. After she took the box, she made her way the bed climbing over it. She lay down on the cushy mattress and removed the lid of the box. Her eyes fell on Sombra's horn, its black color contrasting against the white of the pillow on which it rested.
The blush on Applejack's face intensified and she could feel a warm sensation starting to grow within her at the same time that her marehood winked spreading warm wetness all over her nether region. The soft touch of the fabric against her winking sex made her moan softly. Applejack took the horn with her hooves and started to kiss and lick it while falling backwards over the bed.
Some moments later, the silence of the house was cut by deep sighs and moans of pleasure. She left it over the bed and stood up heading to the bathroom. A moment later, the sound of cascading water could be heard coming from behind the door.
Inside her room, the box started to shake, the lid flew through the air and black mist started to come out from inside the box. Slowly, the mist spread completely through the room before concentrating in one point at the side of the bed where a unicorn of deep black fur stood with closed eyes. Sombra inhaled deeply and opened his eyes as he smiled showing his large fangs.
"... I'm back..."
He said as his red draconic eyes scanned the room he stood in noting its wooden construction. Many photographs of different ponies hanged on the walls and some others stood over the furniture of the room. The unicorn walked towards the window finding a rural landscape filled with trees.
"It seems that I'm no longer in the Crystal Empire. Well, it doesn't matter, any place is perfect to begin with my reign again."
He said and turned around. As he made his way towards the door, a sweet smell caught his attention. He looked at the bed and inched closer, the smell was stronger there, it was intoxicating and Sombra hummed in joy.
"Oh... what's that smell?" He said with raspy excited voice. "The sweet scent of a young mare... oh it sings to me..."
In that moment, the sound of a door being opened reached his ears followed by hoofstesp coming towards his direction. The unicorn retreated to a corner of the room where he became formless and blended with the shadows. A moment later, he saw a mare of orange pristine fur and long blonde mane enter into the room, she closed the door and made her way towards her vanity table. Applejack took a comb and started to run it through her hair.
Sombra took his time admiring her figure. Her strong warm body and her well rounded flanks lured him towards her, her deep green eyes were more gorgeous than any gem he ever had in his treasure, for him, she was the epitome of perfection.
"... She needs to be mine..." Sombra whispered.
Applejack turned her head, she could swear she heard something. She stood up from the chair and opened the door of her room.
"Applebloom? Big Mac?" She called but her only answer was silence.
She shrugged and closed the door again, that's when her eyes noticed that the box over her bed was opened, she got closer and saw with fear that it was empty. The mare looked in all directions, Sombra saw the fear in her eyes and decided to make his move.
"What's the matter my dear? It seems like you just seen a ghost."
A deep voice echoed in the room and Applejack froze in terror as the shadows grew around her. She gave some steps back just to bump into something. She turned around finding herself face to face with King Sombra. The black stallion that was taller than her by a head started to walk towards her while Applejack kept retreating.
"No… this can't be... you're dead..."
She finally was able to talk, Sombra chuckled and shook his head.
"Dead? No, just... sleeping... recovering my energy and powers..."
He told her while cornering her against one of the walls. Her rump collided with the wooden surface and she knew there was no scape.
"I suppose I should thank you for taking care of my horn, I never imagined I would end in the hooves of a mare as beautiful like you."
Sombra lifted one hoof and caressed her cheek gently. Applejack found her courage and yanked the black appendage from her face with her own hoof.
"If you touch me again, I will end you." She said with gritted teeth.
Sombra laughed and lunged at her. Applejack screamed and ended standing on her back legs pinned between the wall and the warm muscular chest of the unicorn.
"I like your attitude my dear, however, I think that in this moment what you really wish is for me to make you mine."
The stallion nuzzled her neck and went up her face until he trapped her soft ear between her fangs. Applejack gave a sharp breath as tingles of pleasure coursed through her body.
"After all... I know what you did with my horn... my sweet Applejack..." He whispered and his warm breath tickled her ear.
Her eyes shot open. "I... I don't know w-what are you t-talking about..." Applejack told him trying to control her reactions. A moan escaped from her lips when she felt a hoof tracing its way over her chest and down the edge of her waist.
"Don't be so modest, I'm glad I helped you to relieve the stress on those long nights." Sombra told her while nibbling her ear.
Applejack's cheeks turned bright red, she closed her eyes and turned her face to one side. "H-how do y-you know?"
"I already told you, I was slumbering, and even when I could hear you screaming my name, I can't say I enjoyed it, it was a torture, so close, yet so far from you."
Sombra said and looked directly into her eyes. Applejack gulped and then joined her lips with his in a passionate kiss. So many nights after her return from the Crystal Empire she had dreamed with the unicorn, with the taste of his mouth. In those dreams, she was loved by him and it didn't take long for her to realize that she had fallen in love with a monster. The night had fallen over the town when the rest of the Apple family returned to the farm. Applebloom raced up the stairs but stopped when she saw the door to her sister's room closed, slowly, she opened it and called to her sister.
"Applejack? Are you awake?"
Thanks to the light of a small lamp at the side of the bed, Applebloom saw her sister sleeping peacefully with a smile adorning her lips. The filly smiled as well and closed the door, she didn't even noticed the black unicorn sleeping beside her sister with his hooves surrounding her body.
That night, in her dreams, Applejack saw herself resting under an oak surrounded by a field of multicolor flowers. Sombra was resting at her side, then he incorporated a little and kissed her deeply.
From behind them, the sound of small hooves running towards them could be heard, then a sweet voice called to her...
"Mommy!"
