Fall of Equestria: Killing Monsters
Savior
Previous ChapterApplejack gave another sob into her hands. Why did the Maker hate them so much? Why was the Maker so cruel? It dangled Equestria's salvation before them yanking it back. Sorrow turned to rage. All males were the same. Even if they supposedly came from another world. It didn't matter if that 'Geralt' killed some Caribou. He was just like all the others: only caring for themselves. Rage turned back to sorrow and despair. It was hopeless. The Caribou would come back. And they probably would hang her just like Geralt did to them. It would've been better if he never came. At least she'd be alive, maybe finally enjoying herself. She had to get out of here before they came back. But she couldn't leave her friends, or face her brother.
The door to barn door opened and she expected more Caribou. What she saw instead was the source of this problem. She stood up, not bothering to cover herself up. She snarled, "Whut are you doin' here? Don't ya have a home ta get to? It must be better than this Tartarus."
Geralt adverted his eyes, "I came-"
"Ah don't wanna hear it! Jus' go an' never come back. Ya already caused 'nough damage 'round here," She went to walk past him.
Geralt grabbed her by the arm, "Applejack, wait-"
"Get yer buckin' hands off meh!"
"Applejack, please-"
"No!" she wiggled her arm free, "Ah've heard 'nough o' yer lies-"
"APPLEJACK!" Geralt roared at her.
The sudden increase in volume tripped up Applejack, causing her to tumble to the ground. She scrambled backwards, her anger replaced by fear, "D-don't hurt meh, p-please..."
Geralt took a step forward and Applejack cringed, closing her eyes. She felt his strong hands on her arms and she realized with horror that he did indeed lie. He was going to rape her. He only came back to rape her. She clenched her shut eyelids, tears leaking from them. So it came as a surprise when she was pulled up to her feet and felt the hands leaving her.
She cracked one of her eyes open. Geralt just stood there, almost looking sorry. She couldn't really tell because of his impassive face. Only his cat-like eyes showed any emotion, "I just want to talk."
Applejack opened her other eye and gulped, "A-alright..."
"I'm not going home for a while."
"Wh-why?" stuttered Applejack, still feeling a bit scared, "D-did ya get lost or somethin'?"
"I changed my mind. Tell me how to save you."
Applejack blinked, "Whut?"
"How do I save save Equestria?"
Applejack couldn't believe her ears. Didn't he say no to that? "Y-yer not jokin'? Yer not tryin' ta pull a fast one on meh?"
Geralt shook his head. Applejack asked another question, "Why? Why'd ya change yer mind?"
"I saw the barn."
Applejack felt her stomach drop, "Oh. That..."
She saw Geralt clench his fists, "If I had know how bad things were, I wouldn't have left. I'll ask again. How do I save you?"
"Y-you kill th' King. If ya do that, th' Caribou might fall back."
"King who?"
"Nopony knows. Not even th' Caribou, 'cept a trusted few."
"Then we'll kill the King."
Applejack blinked at the bluntness of that statement, "H-how? Not even th' Princesses together could beat him."
"I'm guessing these 'Princesses' are powerful."
"Eyup. They raised th' sun an' moon befer th' King took their powers," At Geralt's look of disbelief, Applejack continued, "Ah swear it's true! Don't know how thangs work in yer world, but Equestria has ta have its sun an' moon raised by somepony. Now th' King has Celestia's an' Luna's power along wit' his."
As soon as she said that, Applejack realized just how impossible saving Equestria was. She sat down on the ground and moaned, head hanging, "Aw, who're we kiddin'? It's hopeless...Ya best get back to yer world..." Applejack hoped he would say otherwise, but when he didn't she sighed. She also didn't hear him leave, either. She looked up to see Geralt staring of to the side, "Whut?"
Geralt glanced at her, "Company. Get inside."
Applejack slowly got up, unsure exactly what was going on. What did he mean by 'company'? She hoped it didn't mean what she thought it did. She walked backwards into the barn. She just stepped through when he closed the barn door on her. She opened it a bit so she could see what was going on.
Geralt reloaded his crossbow and sat on his knees. Applejack raised an eyebrow. What was he doing? He stayed there for minutes. Applejack was about to open the door and asked what in the wide world of Equestria was he doing when she heard footsteps and voices. She looked to the side to see five armed Caribou walking up the path. One of the red-collared mares must have seen the bodies Geralt left behind and ran for help. How could he hear them from so far away? Applejack was beginning to think that Geralt wasn't a normal example of his species.
"I swear I'm gonna skin the cunt alive who did that-! What is that??" They stopped and stared at the sitting Geralt.
"Don't know," the Caribou answered, "But it's clearly male. Look at his beard."
"You think it saw what happened?" asked a third.
"Only one way to find out," replied the second one. He cupped his hands around his mouth, "Hey! Do you know what happened to the Caribou stationed here?"
Geralt nodded, but didn't answer. The Caribou waited for an explanation, but when they figured out Geralt wasn't going to say anything, the second yelled again, "What happened?"
"Killed them."
Silence rang through the air. Applejack's jaw dropped. There were five well armed Caribou in front of Geralt, outnumbering him. And he just told them he killed their fellow Caribou. Was he insane??
"YOU FUCKING CUNT!" roared the first one and led the charge.
Geralt didn't do anything as they rushed at him. They drew closer and closer. Even if he did get up right now, it was too late. He was insane!
Geralt suddenly opened his eyes and waved his hand. A rush of air knocked all of the Caribou on their backs. Applejack's jaw dropped even further. Magic! He used magic without any horns!
Geralt calmly got up and drew his sword. His was longer than theirs, and much sharper. It probably sharp enough to stab through their chainmail, Applejack imagined.
Geralt walked to the nearest one, who managed to get on his hands and knees. Geralt ran him through and Applejack winced at the scream.
Geralt, instead of attacking them, pulled out a bottle. Applejack watched in disbelief as he uncorked the bottle. Was he seriously drinking something in the middle of battle? He really was insane.
He downed the bottle as the Caribou finished getting back up. Geralt's body suddenly seized up and his face contorted in what looked like pain. What did he drink?? Applejack wondered this as Geralt let out a breath, panting. The Caribou looked at each other. Something was wrong...
Geralt wiped his mouth, "Let's go."
One of them charged and Geralt turned into a blur. Applejack could barely see his arms swing as he cut off the Caribou's leg at the knee. Fast as lightning, he brought his sword up and stabbed the Caribou in the chest before he could even hit the ground. Applejack reared back. How on Equestria did he do that?
Before any of the Caribou could react Geralt withdrew his sword and charged. He swung horizontally and the Caribou tried to block. Unfortunately for him Geralt swung with all his might. The Caribou's hand was knocked to the side and Geralt followed through, using his momentum to twirl around and slash at the belly. The Caribou's intestines started to fall out as he fell backwards.
Geralt felt a jabbing pain in his side as he grunted in pain. One of the Caribou managed to stab him. Applejack let out a gasp, which proved to be a mistake. The other Caribou heard her and moved quickly to the barn. Applejack was staring at Geralt when she saw this too late. She tried run but the door slammed into her, causing her to fall. She scrambled back as the Caribou towered over her.
He lunged and pined her down by her neck. She soon found it was hard to breathe. He lowered his sword downwards, "You want this up your cunt, don't you, slut?"
Applejack's eyes widened in horror as she looked down The sword was leveled at her lower lips. She managed to shake her head, "N-no! Please!"
"This is what happens when you go against your rightful masters," Applejack clenched her eyes shut as she waited for the horrible pain.
Meanwhile, Geralt forced himself back, drawing the sword out of him. Geralt looked back and bared his teeth at the Caribou, who was staring at him shock, "H-how are you n-not on the ground?!"
Geralt looked past the stunned Caribou and gritted his teeth at what he saw. The other Caribou had Applejack pinned. The had to finish this quickly. He pulled out his crossbow and shot the Caribou in front of him in the unprotected knee. Geralt stalked past him. The other Caribou saw this and quickly pulled Applejack to her feet, "Don't take another step, or the cunt gets it!" he said as he pressed his blade to Applejack's throat.
Geralt watched with burning eyes as Applejack started to sob, "P-please don't kill meh..."
The Caribou pressed his blade further against Applejack's neck, "Shut it, whore!"
Geralt clenched his fists, knowing what he needed to do. Before the Caribou could react, Geralt cast Axii. The Caribou blinked and staggered, "Wh-wha?"
"Let her go," The Caribou complied and Applejack got away as fast as possible.
Geralt stalked forward and shoved the dozy Caribou to his knees. Geralt handed his sword to Applejack, who took it with a confused look on her face, "Your turn."
Applejack blinked, "Wh-whut?"
"Kill him. If you want to save Equestria, you're going to have to kill Caribou."
Applejack gulped and stepped in front of the Caribou. Suddenly, all of the memories of her being raped and beaten came to the surface. She snarled and swung the sword with all her might. The blade passed clean through the Caribou's neck, decapitating him. The body fell to the side as Applejack recovered from her swing. She looked at the body and turned a bit green, "Ah think Ah'm gonna be sick..."
Geralt gently took the sword away from her and turned to the last surviving Caribou. Said Caribou was trying to crawl away. Geralt kicked him in the side, and the Caribou rolled over clutching it. The Caribou's eyes widened as he felt his chin being lifted by Geralt's blade, "What's the nearest town?"
"P-Ponyville."
"How many Caribou are there?"
"A-about fifty."
"Defenses?"
"N-none. J-just a barracks. P-please don't kill me."
Geralt ignored the Caribou's request and slit his throat.
"Wh-what are you?"
He looked up to see Applejack standing before him, covering herself. He stared at her eyes and noticed they had a bit of fear in them, "A Witcher."
"A-a whut now?"
"I kill monsters," Geralt said, before glancing down at the dead Caribou at his feet, "And bad people."
Applejack stared at his impassive face and shivered. While she was glad the Caribou was dead, the way Geralt didn't show any emotion scared her. She gulped when he turned his attention to her. If he noticed her nervousness, he didn't show it, "Any ideas on how to kill the King?"
Applejack thought for a minute, "There was one way. Don't think it'll work anymore, though."
"Why? What is it?"
"They're called th' Elements of Harmony. Me an' mah friends used 'em ta save Equestria a couple o' times befer."
"And why wouldn't they work?"
Applejack sighed, "Two reasons. One, they're in Canterlot, where th' King and two of the Elite Generals are. It's crawlin' with Caribou. Ah don't think we could even approach Canterlot and survive. We'll need an army an' all th' males are 'gainst us."
"And the other?"
Applejack felt tears well up in her eyes, "M-most o' mah friends, th' ones who wielded th' Elements are...broken. Th-they accepted th' Caribou's rule," Applejack sniffled.
"We'll have to change that."
Applejack looked at him, "H-how? Mah friends are broken."
Geralt looked at her dead in the eyes and spoke with conviction, "We'll give them hope."
