//-------------------------------------------------------// Rise of the 大日本帝国 -by HonorableSamurai23- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// 第一書-The Great Light //-------------------------------------------------------// 第一書-The Great Light There were legends of a spell, a spell that can bring a guardian.A guardian who will come when Equestria is in danger of mortal peril.Nopony knows who or what it actually looks like,some say it is a huge mechanized beast,able to tear down anything in their sights.Some say it can be a higher being of magic with powers that put the entire alicorn species to shame.But unfortunately,all of Equestria thought to be just a rumor and a legend until one of their so-called "legends" of being the"Mare in the Moon" or Nightmare Moon as the ponies call her escaped the moon and actually existing.That's when everypony really started believing all of Equestria's legends including the Spell of the Guardian.Believing of all of its legendary status even though it has not been used once,Princess Celestia prepared the spell in case of a final resort if Equestria is about to fall.And now,they need it more than never.Because the Caribou are invading,and they have won.In Celestia's last moments before she was captured,she activated the Guardian spell but nothing happened. But wait? It did work,it did not send a mechanical beast or a person with omnipotent powers,it sent a country.An Empire to be exact.Its Emperor decreed that it will last 10000 years.Its past filled with constant glorious victories living to its name and power.The Sun will not set on this empire that its son will it with great leader ship and leading it glory.It name is the 大日本帝国 or The Greater Japanese Empire.And it is ready to make its empire grow.Long Live the Japanese Empire.万歳！！！！ Tokyo Harbour,Greater Tokyo Area,Japan CET 12 AM 1st  July 1937 Sadaimichi Kajioka can't believe it.He is now Rear Admiral of the Entire Imperial Japanese Fleet and earlier than expected as well.He is now jumping the ranks to the more highly respectable ranks in the Navy,finally,he can finally get some respect for him and his family name.'Now to aim to beat my rival,Ozawa.But first a respectable smoke for my victorious promotion." He thought as he took out a pack of his finest cigars from his home province of Ehime and a small gas lighter from his jacket he's wearing.As any Japanese noble and corrupted Westerner would do,lights one of it and puffs some smoke in the air on  the bow of his assigned flagship/ aircraft carrier, The Tenryū (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_cruiser_Tenry%C5%AB).One of the prototype ships he will be commanding,it was a hybrid of a destroyer and a light crusier,designed to be nimble and fast,giving the enemy a disasvantage in battle. "What a magnifcent ship it is."Kajioka saying his thought out loud. "It is a magnifcent ship indeed,given to a great commander like you."A familiar voice of his greatest superior in the Navy,Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isoroku_Yamamoto),Head Admiral of the Imperial Japanese Fleet suprised Kajioka that his superior that would come here all of the sudden. "Admiral Yamamoto! It is a suprise to see you this late.Are you supposed to take care of  the Yamato (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_battleship_Yamato)?"Kajioka quickly bowed respectfully to Yamamoto,while asking him of his sudden appearance here on the Tenryū. "No need to be worried about that Rear Admiral.I got the assistant to handle the work.Ok,you can stop bowing now."With that, Kajioka stopped bowing and revealed his slightly relieved face on the news. "So,why are you here then Admiral?"Kajioka asked before puffing out another cloud of smoke into the night sky. "Oh.I'm here to send my personal congratulations for your sudden promotion Rear Admiral."Yamamoto said with a slight grin on his face. "Wow.That was quite unexpected,I thought I never will get congrats from the Head Admiral or even come here just to give it."he said in a sudden shock on his face. "Always expect the unexpected,Sadaimichi."Yamamoto said with a slight feeling of wisdom towards him. "Yes.Sir." "Hmm.It seems the rumors are true.You actually smoke when no one is around."Yamamoto said with certainty that he found out about Kajioka's secret. "I do it sometimes.It helps with stress."he replied to his remark eith an embarassing look. "Don't worry.I also do it too.May I have one?" "Of course...here."Kajioka said while taking another cigar of his box and lighting it. "Those are Ehime cigars.The best you would find in Japan.They always make those smell like incense you would find in your typical temple."Kajioka boasted about these cigars coming from his home province of Ehime on Shikoku Island and that they are best in the land. Right before Yamamoto can even puff a smoke,it happened. "What in the Emperor's name is that!?"Kajioka exclaimed while pointing at the night sky which seemed to be glowing.Glowing like the Aurora Borealis (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurora#/media/File%3AAurora_Borealis_and_Australis_Poster.jpg) Yamamoto seen in his travels across Europe when he was younger.Except that the fact it was glowing white instead of multiple colours and seemed that it is going on an endless fall towards Tokyo. As the white light desended towards Tokyo,he hoped that it will show mercy onto them and prayed this was one of the Emperor's rituals.Yamamoto quickly sprung into action as he took a photo of the light using the camera he had on person as evidence of this unexplainable event since he was a rationalist despite believing the Emperor. The Aurora took at least took 5 minutes before dissappeared,leaving the darkness to rule the night sky once more.After that Kajioka asked a question. "What was that?" "I don't know actually.We don't see brights light over Tokyo this bright.I think this this is new."Yamamoto answered with uncertainty. "The journalist are going to swarm the Imperial Palace of this "event" the next day.So I think we are expecting a lot of reports on my desk."Kajioka said with a sigh. "I think that would happen soon."Yamamoto agreed with his statement. By the time he finished reading the reports,he knew something was wrong and immediately called a Cabinet meeting in the Imperial Palace and called the Emperor to it too as this might be important.He quickly changed into his formal attire and before telling his chaffeur to drive him to The Palace.He opened the doors and was met by the entire cabinet already in disarray and fear,it even looks like they see an 鬼, and told them that he will hunt Amaterasu down and eat her. "Your Majesty."Tojo suddenly spoke,quickly silencing the commotion and got their attention."At midnight last night,an "Aurora"seemed to have displaced the Entire Japanese Empire after pilots reported that they saw Manchuria as an island now instead part of the landmass which is China.Our part of Kurafuto Island seems to be displaced here as well and was perfectly below the 50° parallel and was seemingly cut in half perfectly."He said as he took out two photos of Manchuria Island and Kurafuto province in their predicament taken by pilots during their routine patrol after the event."We also found out that we are not alone.We sent our long - range fighters to explore and they seem to find out that there are two unknown continents east and west of our country.Some scientists even theorized that we are on another world or realm."as he also took out two more photos,showing pictures labelled 'East' and 'West'.The picture labelled East shows a Early Meiji Era (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meiji_period)/19th century city with what seems to be electric streetlamps,roads and buildings made of brick ,while the picture labelled 'East' showed a Late Sengoku Jidai (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sengoku_period) to Early Edo era (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edo_period#/search) town with what looks like using African culture for its buildings,lanterns and no electricity. "As you can can see from the photos,these are two different cities we never seen before with new cultures we never heard off."Tojo continued."This means the Empire could have been "displaced",though we are checking with the pilots that this is no sick joke from the Air Force,but if our scientists' theories are true,I think that these photos show some signs of civilization with primitive technology other than the Empire,but information is limited,so that means we don't know what type of civilizations they are." L"Yes,Your Majesty.This will be a problem in the long run like the Great Depression until we find someone to trade with.Until then,we going to have a recession." As the cabinet finishes the emergency meeting,Yamamoto and Kajioka met again and says the only thing they saying,"Looks like we are going to be the explorers then." "Looks like it.Why do I keep thinking that we are going fight a war soon?" "I don't know." Admiral Yamamoto was right.They are going to fight a war soon. A war to liberate.
