I stared at the city in front of me from Princess Celestia's balcony. I was staring at things that most ponies would look past or not even spot, like a small group of fillies running along the top of some shops. Their green manes and identical facial structure led me to believe that they were siblings. I watched as the tallest one pulled out a rope and tied it around a chimney, then tying it around themselves. I watched as they slowly lowered got on top of the chimney, and slowly got into it. I stayed put as I watched the filly climb down the chimney and disappear from sight.
"Silver, where are you at, I called you down to the foyer 15 minutes ago," my bossed yelled at me through his telepathic connection. I quickly made my way to the large open foyer that held the princesses, the Mane Six, some of the royal guard, and the rest of the bodyguards hired by the princesses and the Mane Six. I was hired, anonymously, by one of the Mane Six, as well as the princesses who had hired everypony. I quickly made my way down the stairs and into the giant open foyer and stood next to five other bodyguards that were hired by the mane six themselves, we each were hired by a separate element holder.
"Alright, as most of you already know, we have been hired as a group to watch over the princesses and the Elements of Friendship," our boss, Bold, barked at us. Nopony knew his last name, however, but some speculate it to be Cheese. "We have been hired to escort the Mane Six and the princesses out of the city, and, safely, get them to the Crystal Empire, your top priority is to keep the princesses alive at all costs, your secondary priority is to keep the Mane Six alive."
"Hold on, are you saying that we can die, but the princesses can't," Rainbow spoke up.
"Yes," Bold told her. I watched as Rainbow's expression went from disbelief to anger. I quickly changed my position and got ready to tackle her is she tried to fight Bold.
"Rainbow, calm down," Twilight told her. "He's just saying that the princesses are more important than us."
"Alright, now that we have that problem out of the way, we are leaving the castle in 2 hours, so gather items that are essential, carry light," Bold announced, before walking over to a weapon rack and started handing out shock batons to the bodyguards. I didn't wander over as I never liked the shock batons, they gave the attack a better thing to attack you and others with if you were killed. I watched as the Mane Six wandered over to the stairwell and waited for the everypony to finish packing up and getting. I slowly made my way to a wall, and into a push-up position and start warming up. A few minutes later I heard the flapping of wings in the air around me. I looked up and saw Rainbow staring down at me, with eyes of annoyance, as if I had done something she didn't like.
"What's your name," she asked I wasn't really interested in talking to her. I looked back at the ground and heard a scoff from the multicolored pegasus. I felt a pressure press against my back, but I kept pushing. I suddenly felt the weight of an entire pegasus standing on me, making the push-ups more of a task than before, but not making it much harder. "How and why are you still going?"
"Get off of him Rainbow," Applejack told her friend. I suddenly felt the weight on my back disappear, making me slightly sad as my challenge was now gone. I quickly got up and felt a familiar burn in my legs. I turned to look at Rainbow who was talking to Applejack next to one of the princesses thrones.
"Rainbow, name's Silver," I told her while heading to one of the training yards meant for the royal guards. I stared at the weak excuses that the royal guard had for practice wooden swords, rubber arrows, and scarecrows. I heard Rainbow calling after me and running to keep up with me.
"Who do you think you are, thinking your so smug and awesome," she told me. I watched Applejack and Pinkie Pie approach behind Applejack.
"I'd have to ask you the same thing, Rainbow," I told her. I watched Applejack and Pinkie hold back smiles and laughs. Rainbow yelled and flew into the sky. "Don't go too far Rainbow, or we might leave you."
I continued walking through the training yard, until I heard a flap of wings, signaling mid-air turning. I quickly sidestepped the oncoming attack. I watched the pegasus fly right into the ground, creating a rut in the ground leading to the pissed pegasi.
I finally made my way to the outdoor pool and quickly dove in. I looked to see Pinkie, Applejack, and Rainbow walking behind me. Before they made it to the pool I dove under the water, holding my breath and swimming to the deep part of the water. I sat on the bottom of the pool, closing my eyes and meditating, thinking about why we were evacuating the princesses and Mane Six out of Canterlot. I opened my eyes to see the city itself, a beautiful city of many different talents and ponies. A city once thought to be a safe haven get ripped from the beautiful land of Equestria. I suddenly felt a group of hooves grab me and pull me out of the water. I saw Applejack and Pinkie soaking wet after getting me out of the water, coughing and choking. I quickly stood up and walked over to them.
"Are you crazy," Applejack asked me.
"No, why," I was confused why she was so mad.
"You sat there while letting yourself drown," she yelled at me.
"I wasn't drowning I was meditating," I told her. I then walked away from the group and back towards the castle foyer. I stopped to look out at the city and saw a couple of ponies here and there, but other than that the city was silent. I continued the walk back to the foyer after awhile of staring at the silent city. Once in the foyer I walked over to Princess Twilight Sparkle and bowed.
"No need to bow to me," Twilight told me. I rose in front of her, to notice the rest of the Mane Six were now standing in front of me. I nodded to the rest of them, only to receive a nod from all of them, besides Rainbow.
"I've been hired to protect one of you with my life, but until I know who that is I'm protecting all of you with my life until we reach the Crystal Kingdom, or if plans change then where ever it is after that," I told them. "It will be an honor to have put my life in such import ponies."
"Don't you need a weapon to protect yourself with," Starlight asked.
"No, I find weapons a disadvantage, and I'm also highly trained in hand-to-hand combat, but if I need to I'm trained in close-quarters-combat," I told them. Starlight nodded at me and then sheepishly backed away from the group.
"If you're so good at hand-to-hand combat, show us," Rainbow told me. She flew down next to me and landed next to me.
"Rainbow, my job is to protect you not fight you," I told the egotistical mare. I knew she wasn't going to listen so I quickly got into a fighting stance. "Fine, but if I win will you stop pestering me and hating me?"
"Deal," she told me. I shot out my wings and took a defensive position. She quickly lunged at me, which I quickly dodged, causing her to trip and fall. "Whatever I don't want to fight anyway."
I flew up to the balcony in front of the giant wooden doors and stared out at the dark city for the third time today. I noticed more activity than earlier, which was just ponies running down a street. I watched as a stallion, one with a brown coat, mane, and tail, tackle a gray pegasus and start attacking her. I stared at the scene and watched as the pegasus flew into the air and take off, the stallion chasing after the mare. He lost interest and started walking to the castle doors. I flew to the ground floor and walked over to the Mane Six, after hearing a bang on the castle door. Bold walked over to the door and quickly opened it, only to be attacked by the horse. I finally got a view of the horse's features. He had missing patches of fur and skin revealing the muscle, or in some cases the bone, he had a broken leg and a missing eye. His remaining eye was glossy and clear. He was dead. He bit Bold in the neck and tore his throat out and started swallowing the pieces that he was able to rip off the poor pony. Bold was dead in seconds.
"Up the stairs now," I told the Mane Six as some of the bodyguards tried to stop the attack only to get bitten in the process. They finally got the stallion off Bold. They hit him time after time with the shock batons. One unlucky pony got his shock baton grabbed and the pony pulled him toward him and started ripping parts of his flesh out. I led the Six, and now Starlight, towards the second floor of the huge castle. One of the royal guards stabbed the spear into the things head, it finally stopped moving. "Get to Celestia's room."
Just then, the entire castle shook as an explosion from outside rocked the entire castle. The castle itself started to collapse from the shockwave. I passed the seven mares and took lead as I led them towards Celestia's room. I made it to Celestia's room and shoved the door open and pushed the mares into the room. I looked back and saw that Pinkie's leg was trapped under a piece of concrete, I ran back and tried to help the mare out of the rubble, but the rubble was too heavy. I looked to see Applejack and Rainbow next to me and helping me lift the concrete slab. I quickly pulled Pinkie out of the rubble and carried her back to the Celestia's room. Inside I found the rest of the Mane Six, Starlight, Celestia and Luna and some of their guards. I put Pinkie on a couch and stared at her leg.
"Somepony get Pinkie something to squeeze, she's dislocated her knee, and I'm going to have to reloactate it," quickly Pinkie was given something to chew on and something to squeeze. "Okay Pinkie, on the count of three I'm going to relocate your knee, but I'm telling you know it's going to hurt a lot."
"Okay," she told me between sobs and tears.
"Okay, one, two," on two I quickly snapped her leg back together, which caused Pinkie to scream in pain. I looked down and sighed. "Somepony get her an icepack and a sucker."
"How many times have you done that," Twilight asked.
"That was my first time on a living subject," I told her. She looked like I'd just ate an entire pony. "I'm kidding, I've done about nine times not including just then."
"Here you go Silver," Rainbow said, handing me a ice pack. I walked over to Pinkie and put the ice pack on her knee, and taped it down with surgical tape. I was suprised when a crying Pinkie hugged me. I hugged her back. She laid back on the sofa and closed her eyes and tried to fall asleep.
"Okay now, does anypony want to discuss what happened down," Rarity asked the group. "I mean, they were literally eating each other out there!"
"Calm down, Rarity yelling about everything will not help our current problem," Twilight told Rarity.
"No, right now we need to get you all out of here," I told the group.
"Oh yeah, who put you in charge," Rainbow demanded.
"I put myself in charge after my commanding officer died," I told her.
"Rainbow, I'm putting Silver in charge from here on out," Celestia told Rainbow. "Silver, I'm trusting you to keep these seven alive, I've already messaged Cadence of your arival."
"Princess, were are you going," Twilight asked, worried that the princesses weren't coming.
"Don't worry Twilight we're going to a bunker reserved for the royal sister's don't worry," Celestia told her student. After that Celestia vanished with her sister.
"Okay, Pinkie, do you think you can stand," I asked while turning to see the pink pony walking towards me with a limp
"Yeah, I can stand," she told me.
"Twilight, do you think you can teleport us to the train station," I asked her.
"Yeah, but it'll take me a minute as this is a lot of ponies for me to teleport at once," she told me. Her horn lit up and I quickly grabbed what would be need, which was just a medkit and a couple coats for the treck across the Frozen North. The around me flashed a light purple and we were all at the train station, with a train ready to take us to The Frozen North. The seven mares I was with quickly got on the train, but I turned around stared at the city. The city was burning in many parts, dead carcuses littered everywhere. There was so much blood. I quickly boarded the train and forced the rest of the ponies in the back carriages. "Why are you doing this for us?"
"I'm just following orders,"
