"Would you be quiet already you dumb dog you haven't gotten me yet and you aren't got to make me come down from here by barking at me all night!"

Where should begin? Let's start with three hours ago. One minute I was taking a nap on my couch, and the next thing I knew, I was in the middle of nowhere. Well, if nowhere means that I am surrounded by trees as far as the eye can see, then yes, the middle of nowhere. I didn't panic at first, I knew it wouldn't help anyone, so I started with checking to see what I had on me than panic.

"Let’s see here: shoes a little loose but check, purse check, smart pho-..." I stop my checklist when I was reaching for my phone and notice that something else is reaching into my purse that isn't my hand. It's white and had fur on it. I didn't move for a few seconds until I realize something. Whenever I move my hand that thing moved as well. It took three seconds to register in my head that whatever this thing is, it’s mine... pulling it out of the purse, I look at the strange thing where my hand is supposed to be. I don't feel any pain coming from it, so my hands weren't amputated, but that doesn't explain where they went. Getting a closer look at it I could see it's flat and hard around the edges. I hit the ground a few times to confirm an idea of what they things are. "Ha. You know. If I didn't know better I would say that my hands were suddenly turned to hooves!"

"Alright, calm down Jessica. So you woke up in the middle of nowhere without any idea of how you got here. So your hands are gone, replaced with... whatever these stumpy things are called, without your consent. So what? It's not like you needed them to unlock your cell phone and call for help. But really, those are no reasons to panic, now. Right?"

My composure only lasted for a few more seconds.

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" some of the nearby birds flew away from the sound of my scream.

"No this is not happening! This is all a bad dream, and I am waking up now!" I then bit what should've been my arm

"OW!... ow? That's not.... but... why am I still here?" I wasn’t dreaming for sure. It worst. I was in some kind of nightmare.

After accepting that this is real. I decided to look myself over to see what else is new. I still had the same clothes on when I fell asleep, however, the same thing can't be said for the rest of me. I have a white coat of fur also now I am a redhead. And not just a little amber red. I am talking about fire truck red. I then notice that some of the same red coming out of my pant leg. I had no idea why it was there until I pulled on it and felt some pain coming from my butt. "A tail, I have I tail as well? Wait. Stumped hands for arms, white coat that covers my whole body, a long hair, and matching tail! I am a HORSE?!

"Ok I didn't see that one coming but I am not going to get any help just sitting here." I tried to use my phone to call for help, or at the very least find out where I was at. However, I ran into three problems while trying: One, hooves don’t work well on smartphones. Two: I had no signal here. And three: I was starting to get hungry.

Giving up on the phone, for now, I put it back in my purse I had a look around at my surrounds and notice something.

The colors here are different.

There are so different and unnaturally that they are downright on cartoony. Now that I think about it. The trees here do look like some out of a cartoon.

And to make matters worse, the sun is going down, and everyone knows what happens to little creatures who get left behind in a forest alone.

"I need to get out of here now! But first, how do I use these to walk?"

My first attempt at walking on all fours went as much as you would have expected it would. I must have face planted so many times that am sure there is a rock stuck to my face somewhere. At least I was making progress, and let me tell you something, walking on all fours feels very weird.

Once I had mastered the walking of the hooves. I was left with about an hour of sunlight left. It started out for about two minutes when the sound of twigs snapping was sound to my left. Followed by a low growling sound. Slowly I turned around to see it. And doing so I now have a new phobia. Hiding in the shadows of the trees and bushes was a huge creature so ever slowly moving towards me. I could see the breadth of its mouth flumming in the evening sun. Its teeth were razor sharp really to destroy anything that gets near it. Did I mention those big yellow eyes it has?

It is amazing what one can accomplish when given the right motivation. Like learning how to run from some monster of the forest in less than a second. I must have been going 100miles per hours or… I don’t know, but it was definitely fast for someone who just learned how to walk two minutes ago. Also, did I mention that I was screaming for my life?

Well in any case. That’s how I end up just in my current predicament with that beast at the bottom of my new friend Treebeard. It's not the same one from the movie it is just some random tree I found while running away from the beast snapping its mouth at my tail. Also, I had to lose my pants along the way. It was just slowing me down. As for my precious shoes and purse, I couldn't bring them up with me. And was forced to leave them at the bottom of Treebeard. Once I was safe in the branches of Treebeard. I looked down to see that the creature had torn them to shreds. They shall be avenged, once I get a gun!

“Get on out of here you dumb mutt! You have already cost me over seven hundred dollars’ worth of damages that I won’t be able to replace anytime soon, particularly the purse. So, I have more important things to worry about right now than you right now. You have already wasted enough of my time. GO AWAY!!!”

*BARK* *BARK* *BARK* *BARK* *BARK*

I knew it was a pointless argument with it, but what else am I going to do while stuck up in a tree, because of this wood like creature. Now I know what those raccoons felt like when I treed them late at night all those years ago. I'm pretty sure that one of them would be enjoying my misery right now.

“Go catch a rabbit, a fox, or even a squirrel for all I care; just leave me alone already. Weren’t my shoes and purse enough for you?”

Oh, but it wasn’t, for it just went on and on snarling, growling, and barking at me for hours on end as the moon came up in the sky. At that point, I was beginning to wonder if it would ever go away.

As for me? I can’t stay up here forever, I would have to get out of here eventually and find help. Preferably before I die of dehydration or lack of nutrition. I need a plan of action soon or I am dinner.

Wait a moment… I am hoarse right now. How in the whole wide world did I climb up a tree with no fingers or claws? That doesn’t make any sense. But I guess I shouldn't be complaining about it because I am alive right now because of it.

I look down at this wolf… timberwolf I don’t know what it is, but I get the feeling it is not going to leave anytime soon. Now it's getting comfortable, waiting for me as it starts to eat what is left of my shoe.

I stared at it from my tree branch with my best death glare as it chewed my best shoe. If looks could kill, then this thing would be so dead.

Then my stomach reminds me that it's still on empty and now running on fumes. Deciding that still, I am now a vegey eater. Leaves are now my best choice at the moment. After slowly crewing one leaf I found out that leafs taste like sweet lettuce, and are surprisingly very filling.

Now I know I can wait out this dog; for I have food and you don’t. It is just a matter of time before it gives up and... leaves. Hee.

Until then I am going to need to look around these tree branches to see if any of them can be used for a bed. It didn't take long to find a good spot to sleep; however, I noticed the spot I found isn't a natural part of this tree.

There was a platform of sticks tied together and is big enough for me to lie on. Maybe I wasn’t the first one here with the same problem. Either way, I don’t know and don’t care at the moment; it’s a bed and I called dibs. Climbing on top of it and settle down and eat more of the leaves before I resting my head.

I just hope that I can find someone to help me tomorrow morning and get out of here. And if this bed is anything to go by, a town or house can't be too far away hopefully. I better get some shut-eye I got quite the day tomorrow. However, before I closed my eyes I look down at the dog one more time "I hope you choke on my shoe you mutt."
