Princess Luna was soaring through her night skies when she stumbles upon an unconscious winged unicorn mare in the outskirts of the Everfree Forest. Feeling she knows this mare, she thoughtlessly takes her to her chambers in Canterlot Castle and personally takes care of her wounds.

However, Celestia strongly disapproves of this, believing it could be dangerous. Her suspicions are confirmed when the amnesiac mare wakes up and starts recovering what seems to be small pieces of her memories which tell her different things about herself. At first, she convinces herself she is a terrorist and has betrayed her kingdom, but the truth is very, very different.
