For most people it was bed time, but for the people it the airport it was time to board the plane. Ones of these people was a man with a magazine, sitting on a chair. He had a brown jacket and blue pants. His hair was gray, his skin was gray, and his beard was gray. From a distance you'd think it was a homeless man. A character you'd never expect to be hiding something. But this was Special Agent Norman. One of the best agents on the field to have ever existed. He was good at his job. His job being to save lives, protect the American people, and to prevent accidents or high level threats from occurring. He could knock you down in less than ten seconds, but for right now he was waiting for his plane reading a men's health magazine.
The overhead speaker above the seats in the room he was in turned on. A voice saying his flight was ready echoed through the halls. Him and a group of men, women, and children all stood up at the same time. Picking up their luggage, throwing away whatever food they were eating while waiting, and walking towards the door. Each carrying a conversation to eachother. Excited about the trip they were taking.
Canterlot city, USA was not a bigger than manehattan and its population was definitely not bigger than a city like baltimare, but from what he had heard the people were nice and the sights were breathtaking. Nearby it was a popular tourist attraction the spooky everfree forest. From what he had also heard was that a "Bigfoot" was in that forest. Norman was definitely not into the paranormal, but his job was all about that kind of crap. After all, the agency was built on some old mystery.
Norman had never been to Canterlot before. Heck, he never even knew about the city until the anomalies showed up. Ever since the first anomaly a year ago, the city was big in the agency. That's why they sent an agent to investigate the anomalies. He didn't really care about the anomalies since he was in Cairo when it first happened. But he always tried to get any information about them whenever he had the freetime. Unfortunately not getting him far since the information was shared by the agent sent there and madame glimmer only. The agent sent there he did not find out until she called one night last month.
To say, Norman was a bit mad when he found out madame glimmer sent his sister to investigate a possibly dangerous energy spike was an understatement. She called saying everything was okay and that things in the school were going great.
"The school? What school?"
"They didn't tell you? I had to pose as a teenager at some high school to investigate the anomalies."
Norman was quickly assured that she was fine and didn't need any help. He wanted to go to canterlot then but chose not too. He did not want to upset his sister. Now here he was going to the place she was at. Applying for a job there. What went wrong with his life?
Norman boarded on the plane heading to Canterlot. The trip was quiet for the first hours considering they left at midnight. He was tired like the rest of the passengers and dosed off. Only to wake up six hours later by a kid kicking on his chair. It was morning on the plane. thankfully he was at the Canterlot Airport. So he didn't have to bear through that kids kicking any longer.
The landing was smooth as expected and looking through the window he could see the sun slowly rising above the mountains. Norman kept a straight face the entire trip, only once slipping to scold the boy kicking his seat. He sighed when it was time to leave the plane. He had the dream again when he was taking a little nap. Luckily, it was interrupted by that boys kicks. Something Norman was secretly grateful for. Norman was not a moring person so having to take a ride through the night to get to a city he had no idea about. He was definitely getting coffee when he arrived.
Going down the escalator he passed by people who were greeting and hugging loved ones that waited to see them. Coming up to a girl with a matching dress and boots with pink and blue hair, holding a sign saying "Norman. :)" on it. He could not help but smile at that.
"Whoa, nice beard!" Bonbon said, complimenting the glorious beard.
"Hey, sis." Norman said, hugging bonbon.
"Hey G. How's it going? Been a while since I've seen you." She said, pulling out of the hug. They began walking while carrying the conversation.
"You know me. Kicking ass and chewing bubblegum." Bonbon laughed at that and rolled her eyes. Norman quickly switched from joking to serious.
"Couple drug busts here and there. Been interacting with local police more."
"How you been?" He looked around a bit, before leaning in and whispering.
"How's going back to high school? They still think you're a teenager?" Norman asked, receiving a nod and a laugh.
"Yup, they have no idea."
"Yeah, I bet finding out is gonna make them go crazy." He laughed as he imagined that in his head. Bonbon looked around in awkward silence, Norman caught it and stopped laughing immediately.
"They know?"
"No, it's just I have a lot to tell you about that school."
"What the projectors? Ive already seen those videos online. Where did they get the funding for that display anyway? Did you give them money?" He asked.
"No and... those weren't projections."
"Excuse me?" Norman said getting confused.
"Yeah I think it'd be better if I show you. How about we get some coffee?" Bonbon said, attempting to change the subject. Norman wanted to ask more about it but chose not to because he really wanted that coffee.
"Oh well. I'll ask about the holograms to her....principal, when I get the job... hopefully." Norman winced, he was not use to bonbon being a teenager again.
A short drive later and Norman and bonbon were at the house that bonbon called the "Bonne a la maison." Which was "The Good House" in French. He'd have to check on that to see if it was true later. When he had entered the house, the first thing he did was head for the couch. Six hours of sleep on a plane was not good for him. He didn't care if bonbon had a bed made for him already he was already asleep on the couch.
