The DJ That Scratched my Life

A mellow beginning

Previous Chapter

I awoke the next morning, ready to take on whatever the day has to bring me - nothing.

With a stretch and a yawn, I sat up, giving my eyes a rub.

“Good morning boring life!” I said out loud to nobody as I climbed out of bed.

Another yawn escaped me as I left the room, when all of a sudden, there was a loud

BANG!!

“Nice. Just waking up and I’ve got an intruder in the house! How lovely!” I said to myself with a roll of my eyes.

“Who ever is there, I have a-”

BANG!!

“WWWAAAAAAAHH!!”

A crying baby?

Cautiously, I approached my kitchen as the crying continued. Slowly I began to poke my head around the corner. Everything seemed to be fine, but there were pots and pans all over the floor and…

“Vinyl!”

Quickly, I rushed over to the filly and scooped her up into my arms.

“Vinyl, what happened!?” I asked with immense concern in my voice, wiping her tear away as she began to sniffle.

“I ga ouchies!” She pointed to her head with a hoof.

“Awe, lemme kiss it better….” I smiled softly at her, pulling her head close, kissing where she pointed and I could feel quite the lump there. “Let’s get you an icepack, okay, sweeties?”

Carefully, avoiding the pot/pan littered floor, I navigated my way over to the fridge and pulled open the freezer, grabbing one of the compresses from a little box inside. Next, I grabbed a washcloth from a drawer by the sink and wrapped it round the compress and placed it gently on top of her head as I held her in one arm. She blushed slight, smiling up at me.

“Thankies,” she began to purr, snuggling against me.

“It’s alright, I got you,” I smiled , kissing her head again. “What do you want for breakfast, hmm?”

She looked up at me suddenly, her ears perking straight up, smiling. “Pancas! Pancas!” Vinyl giggled and began to  bounce up and down in my arms, her tail wagging.

Pancas? What are pancas?

“Pan….cakes?” I asked for reassurance.

She nodded. “Pancas! Wan Pancaaaas!”

“Sure, why not?” I gave the filly a hug which she was all too happy to return. “Just let me pick up this mess first, okay?”

Vinyl looked down a her minefield of pots and pans and frowned, then nodded.

“Alright, I’ll put on some cartoons for you to keep you occupied.”

I carried her to the living room and set her down on the couch. She watched me with curiosity as I grabbed the t.v remote off the table and with press of the power button, the t.v came to life, Spongebob being the first thing to come on. How convenient! I noticed her eyes had fixed themselves on the t.v. She became still as a statue, watching with wide eyes.

“Just stay there while i clean up, alright?” I give her a ruffle of her mane and I head back to the kitchen and I began thinking to myself.

I could hear Vinyl giggling as I set to work putting the pots and pans back into their respective cupboard. I could feel a tightness in my lungs and the fuzziness in my head, the shaking of my hands and the confusion of it all. Vinyl Scratch...she’s just a cartoon….how is it that she’s here? Alive and breathing!?

It just doesn’t make any sense.

The only possibility is that I’ve got to be in some weird and lucid dream! Cartoon characters don’t...they don’t just appear out of the blue like she did! Not only that...she’s a filly! How did she even get here? That’s one thing I wish to find out. Maybe she made a new bass cannon who’s wubs were just so violent she was somehow rebirthed and ended up here? But that doesn’t make any sense either. How can one make sense when they can barely focus at all? It’s just craziness I tell you!

I think it’s best I just see where this goes.

I sighed as I put away the last pan and closed the cupboard.

I’m suddenly the father to a cartoon pony.

She’s only gotta be like one or two years old! I’m the only one in her life right now...I won’t be surprised at all if she calls me daddy.

I poke my head around the corner of the wall to see her still sitting where I placed her, watching the television in awe. I can feel my heart rate speeding up. It happens now whenever i see her. Was this supposed to happen? Was I meant to receive her and raise her? I have no clue. No clue on anything right now.

She takes notice of me and smiles. This was followed by the clip clop of her jumping down from the couch and she came trotting towards me, stumbling a couple times. Maybe she’s still learning to walk? Since I’m currently sitting on the floor, she climbs up into my lap, then stand on her hind legs, placing her forehooves on my chest and she smiles a little more.

“Hey there, cutie.” I smile back at her, reaching a hand up to stroke her mane.

Before I even touch her she pushes her head up into my hand and starts to purr. How a pony can purr like a cat, I don’t know, but it’s so frickin’ adorable.

“Pancas?” she tilts her head at me.

My smiles grow a little more.

“Let’s make some pancas.”

Viny squees of joy, wiggling her little hooves, followed by plenty of giggles. I set her down on top of the counter about a foot away from the stove and I began collecting the necessary items for making pancakes. A flat griddle pan, Pancake mix of course, a little bag of chocolate chips to reward the little filly, milk and syrup. All of these things I gathered and set on the other side of the stove while Vinyl, as always, watches with curiosity in her eyes.

“Wanna watch me cook?”

She nods. “Uh huh!”

“Alright, but do NOT touch the stove, okay?”

She nods again and I get to work making the mix in a large bowl and a whisk to, of course, mix the mix.

Heh. I’m making pancakes for breakfast for a talking unicorn of all things. Well, she can’t exactly talk yet...she knows a few words as far as I know, but just can’t pronounce them correctly. No surprise there, curled up, she’s probably as big as a bowling ball. Yeah, she’s little.

And she’s hugging my arm again.

“Viny, as much as I love your hugs, I have to cook, okay?”

Again, she nods and she sits back where I placed her. I give her a soft ruffle of her mane, eliciting a tiny giggle from the foal. I give her a soft smile before returning to creating the mix.

I use a ½ cup measuring cup to scoop come out of the bag which sat nicely in it’s little box. Two for her and two for me, so two scoops, plus two to compensate if I screw up and incase either of us decides to want a little more. The latter of the two seems more probable. She’s a cartoon pony from a girl’s show. You know how it goes. When a cartoon child eats sweets, they can eat more than their own body weight! Purr-fect logic there, m8!

So, next I pour in the needed amount of milk, and with a pair of scissors, I make a clean cut across the fist sized bag of chocolate chips and with a tip of the bag, I allow about a third of them to tumble into the mix, followed by a little vanilla extract and I stir the mix together.

I should have turned on the stove first with the burner on it to prepare…

Oh well.

I slide the griddle onto the front large burner and I turn said burner on. I forgot butter, too, so I went back to the fridge with the milk to put that away and I returned with a stick of salted butter. I open the wrapping up to the one tbs spoon mark and I then melted that amount of butter onto the griddle. NextI scoop ½ a cup of the mix onto the griddle four times to make four pancakes at once.

“Pancas!” Vinyl giggled. “Pancas!”

Dear god she is so bucking adorable.

So, I reward her with a tiny pile of chocolate chips.

Her saucer plate sized eyes shrunk down to the side of dimes as a little gasp escaped her, her eyes fixated on the treat before her.

“Thankies!” She says to me before eating them one by one.

“You’re very welcome, Vinyl,” I smile at her, cupping a hand to her cheek.

She giggled some more as I went to flip the pancakes which landed with a firm plop on the griddle. I grabbed two plates from the cupboard above the stove and set them down on the counter.

“You hungry, little Vinyl?” I asked the filly who was now playing with her three remaining chocolate chips.

The way she was playing with them, I could only assume it was an epic war of chocolatey goodness. Heck, she was making exploding sounds. Jesus, frickin, damn, this filly is gonna to give me a heart attack at the age of twenty five!

“Vinyl.”

“Pew, pew!” She giggled before finally looking up at me from her flying chip.

“Are you hungry, Vinyl?”

She nodded. “Hungies for pancas!”

I couldn’t help but chuckle at her and her little war scene that was slowly increasing in utter suspense as one crashed into the earth, or in better words; the counter top.

“Well, they’re almost done, so, just make sure the good guys win and I’ll give you some more, okay?”

“Oki!” She smiled widely at me before resuming with her ‘pew pew pews.’

I finished making the ‘pancas,’ and served us both two and drizzled them both with a little syrup. I smiled at my work and then I realized, that in quite a while, I’ve made a serving for somebody other than myself and it hit me.

I’m no longer alone.

I looked to Vinyl who had chocolate around her mouth and a little on her hooves as she smiled up at me with glee. My breath decided to get caught in my throat for a moment.

With a soft sigh, I scooped Vinyl up into my arms, holding her to my chest. I ran my fingers through her two toned, electric blue mane, her large magenta orbs shining up at me. I smiled softly.

“Welcome to your new home, Vinyl,” I said with a kiss to the tip of her horn.

She giggled at this and she began to purr, nuzzling my chest.

“Thankies!” she says.

“Anything for you, Vinyl.” I held her tighter as tears came to my eyes as I held such a wonderful gift in my arms - a blessing. This filly, my most likely daughter to be. “Let’s eat, okay?”

She nods, continuing to purr, sending light vibrations into my chest, enough to set my sorrows at ease.

I kissed her head and I set her back down on the counter and I grabbed a fork and a knife from a nearby drawer and I cut her pancakes into little squares.

“Pancas! Pancas! Pancas!” Vinyl cheered, throwing her little hooves up.

“Well, here comes the first bite!”

Pretending the first square of the pancake is my ex, I jab the fork through it and I lift the little syrup dampened piece up to Vinyl’s mouth. She opened up and happily gobbled down the little square, creating adorable nommy nom sounds as she ate.

“Mmm! Nummie nums!” Vinyl compliments with a mouth full of mushed up pancake before swallowing.

“Nummie nums indeed.” I smiled softly as I continued to feed her.

After I fed her, I ate my pancakes, but since Vinyl was still hungry, I gave her a few bites of mine. During this whole time, I couldn’t help but wonder if I’m what’s making her happy so far, or if she’s just giggly by nature like good ol’ Markiplier.

After we both ate, I left Vinyl in the living room to watch some more cartoons to keep her occupied while I washed the dishes. Hearing her giggles and laughter kept me smiling, something I thought I forgot how to do.

She...Vinyl...she reminds me of Alyssa. So sweet, full of life and joy. Part of me decided to try and be funny by trying to convince me it’s her, but turned into a filly Vinyl Scratch. I know that’s not true, I just hope she’s doing alright without me. We talk sometimes on the phone and she seems as happy as she’s always been. Alyssa is a strong girl. Falling out of her crib after a failed attempt to escape, she hit her head right on the floor...and giggled.

The floor was carpet, but she was three at the time, it should have hurt! I was just going in to check on her, and as soon as I opened the door, the first thing I saw was her hitting the floor.

As much as I am upset with my ex, I just hope she’s raising my baby girl right.

As soon as the dishes were finished, I went back out to the living room, only for Vinyl to come running to me from the couch. She wraps her forelegs around my ankle and nuzzles my leg, a soft smile was on her muzzle.

“Awe, what does little Vinyl want?” I sat down on my haunches and pulled Vinyl into my arms as she babbled joyfully.

“Wana cuddeh!” Vinyl nuzzles my chest and curls up.

“You wanna cuddle?”

Vinyl nods.

“Of course we can cuddle.” I smile down at the filly, keeping my arms around her. “You’re such a well behaved little filly.” I kiss her head.

Vinyl remained curled up into my chest, purring all the while as I came to sit on the couch. Lightly, I began to stroke her mane while we both watched Spongebob. Vinyl would point out a few things of interest, letting out little giggles here and there. Her giggling makes me smile, her smile makes me smile. Just her being here makes me smile!

I’ve got a little bundle of joy to love and raise, a ton of cute in one little package! And SHE can’t take her away. Vinyl is mine care for, and raise her right I will! But what if I hadn’t of found her? Where would she be now? Would she even still be alive? She’s lucky she didn’t even get a cold from being out there in the rain like that.

Either way, I’m just glad he’s here, well and alive and I plan to keep it that way.

My finger for some reason felt slimy.

Why?

Well, to Vinyl, I guess my forefinger is the perfect substitute for a pacifier. My smile grew a little, watching possibly the biggest miracle chew on my finger as she watches the t.v.

“You’re such a cutie, you know that, Vinyl?”

Vinyl nods as she continues to assault my finger with her toothless gums, abling and giggling away as she watched Spongebob and Patrick go about their usual nonsense. The little filly turned her head up to smile at me.

“Hey, cutie,” I smile back with a ruffle of her mane.

She gave a slight blush, leaning into my hand.

“Is Vinyl enjoying the show?”

Vinyl nods. “Uh, huh! Bewwy full of pancas!”

“That it is, you adorable little filly. Want me to rub your wittew bewwy?”

Vinyl’s ears perk up on point and she nods vigorously.

“Alright.”

I move Vinyl to lay on her back in my arms and with my free hand, I lightly massage her belly, eliciting a soft purr from her as she closes her eyes. How such big eyes fit in her head, it must be darn near impossible for the body to create a brain. I wonder if anybody besides me has thought this.

Either way, she’s the cutest possible thing I have ever seen.

She lay absolutely still, except for her tail which was wagging like there were no tomorrow as I rubbed her panca filled tummy.

“You like this, sweeties?”

She nods only and slightly. Seems as if belly rubs, in a way, paralyze her.

It’s frickin adorable.

How she opened up to me so fast confuses me, though. I must have seemed like  big monster wanting to eat her in the forest, but now she acts like she’s known me since birth! Maybe I should stop trying to decipher all this and just be happy she’s here. Who knows how long I will have her? I swear to god, if Celestia even tries, Imma blow her friggin head off with a 12 gauge shotgun!

Well….not really...can’t when I don’t own one…

But, if she comes, I’ll just tell her I don’t know what she’s talking about and present to her a very realistic plushy.

In other words, Celestia can go buck herself.

Vinyl is mine.
