Link rolled his eyes. “Food first,” he said.
Epona pouted. “You’re no fun,” she said, but she grabbed the bag of fish Link had brought in with her mouth, and threw it up onto the table. The fish wasn’t as good, but Link liked it, his taste buds still used to his normal fare as a human, so that was good enough for her.
The food disappeared in no time. With it went Epona’s reservations. She picked up the dirty dishes in her muzzle, putting them away in the sink, then turned around.

This was kind of weird to write. I wanted to write a softer, more happier Epona, and I ended up with a sort of nympho bitchy Epona for the first 1000 words before I could redirect it to a softer, nicer Epona. I also wanted to make a few references to Link and Epona getting used to their new bodies (and in Link's case, getting attracted to other horses instead of humans) without being a downer to the clop, so outside of a few lines, I tried putting that all before the clop begins. Equestria didn’t really have a lunar cycle like Hyrule did, a function of day and night being clearly demarcated by the sun and moon being raised and lowered by two of the land’s Princesses. The moon still gave Link strength of a different type, despite its unerring orbit: even after defeating Zant and then the evil king Ganondorf, Link was still able to turn into a wolf. Though it was the corruption from the Twilight Realm that had given him the form, he had purified the power and taken control of it for his own after evil had been vanquished from the land. However, his transformations would only last for a limited time. Fortunately, they lasted longer at night, which was a more optimal time for Link to use his wolf form, thanks to the increased senses the lupine body granted him. It was also the only time Epona had been able to talk to him in Hyrule, too.
However, every few weeks, corresponding to how often the full moon appeared in Hyrule, Link’s wolf transformation would last even longer than usual, staying for the entire night.

“Ten minutes left,” she said, looking out the window and back to the clock, waiting for the Lunar Princess to raise the moon.
